I’m still kinda sad that the conversation about that gringots vault didn’t make it into the movie. The goblin tells them that if anyone other than a gringots goblin tried to get the door open with their own fingers, they would get sucked in and trapped. Harry asks how often they check for trapped people and the goblin says once every ten years!😈🤣
I am a bit sad that they also missed out the part where Harry only got to go to the zoo in the first place was that his baby-sitter, Mrs. Figg had a broken leg. (She tripped over one of her cats). Dudley was supposed to only go with his parents and his friend, Piers Polkiss.
When they play real life quidditch the snitch is often a person dressed in yellow that runs onto the field and sprints around avoiding the seekers and runs off again!😂
They should have upgraded it to drones by now.

For americans confused by the title,the harry potter versions outside the us are different than the US, sorcerer's stone in us and philosophers stone everywhere else.
Yes. There was a reason for this though. In the US a philosopher is a professional who offers views or theories on profound questions in ethics, metaphysics, logic, and other related fields. A sorcerer is a magician who practices enchantments and conjures spells. She wrote the original book using TRUE LIFE LORE. Nicholas Flamel was a real alchemist who believed that he could create ‘The Philosophers Stone’. In the UK and basically everywhere but the United States kids were already used to reading longer chapter books on their own. They understood what fantasy was, and they could leave it in the book. I live here in the US, I actually am part of the “potter generation”. The kids here were so used to having books read to us in English class, and by the librarian in the library, and by our parents at home. This series was released for us to read. We, at the same time, were studying the amazing Philosophers of the world. Had a stone been introduced to us, named after philosophers, and then ANYONE had found out it was based on real alchemist experiments…. Kids would’ve blown themselves up. No joke. It was the most ingenious change they made, and SO many people think it is stupid and a waste of money. Also, associating it with again a Sorcerer loosened many religious parents’ idea that it was promoting magic. Again, genius.

idk I think I saw both of them growing up and I'm from America but the Sorcerers Stone and Philosophers stone were the same to me. I used both regularly and never realized that they were different until someone pointed it out that it was different.

Small note about the chess scene: Ron was the knight (without the horse) in the books, but a giant statue beating him with the sword was considered too gruesome for a kids’ movie so they changed it for the film… also, I have a very basic understanding of chess, but someone else pointed out to me that Ron is indeed an extraordinary player, as he is playing while protecting three pieces instead of one (plus sacrificing the first one just to see what happens) and still wins without severe consequences! That’s a big win and impressive skill indeed in my books

The funniest detail for me is that James and Lily were supposed to be young - like, around 21 years old? And seeing them being portrayed here as much older, if not middle aged is so funny to me 😂
Since they don't have time to discuss this in the films, I wish they had portrayed them as the correct age in the photos and flashbacks to help viewers realize how young the people of the Marauders era actually were during the first war. These characters were teenagers and early 20s when they were originally fighting. Though Sirius Black makes a comment concerning this in a later film regarding the current generation, it also would help show that it is always the young people that bear the brunt the most in wars.

The funny thing about the candles is in this movie they did use real candles hanging from wires from the ceiling. Looked cool but very dangerous when stuff started falling so after this movie it wasn’t practical lol. I laughed when you mentioned the candles potentially falling. In real life quidditch someone dresses up as a snitch and runs around and the players try to catch the person snitch on the other team haha.

Amazing how 23 years have passed since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone had premiered in theaters, and it STILL HOLDS UP!!!!! I was just only 13 years old by the time of the 1st installment, and couldn't wait to see what it had in store. Now, I'm 36 and still watching this and its entire franchise!!!!!😁

Is it with any lipstick or specific colours/shades? I found that the shade of lipstick is so much more important than the colour. You can find your shades in almost any colour. And then, of course, even that is subjective. At the end of the day, you go with whatever feels right for you. I hope you can find yours and feel comfortable with whatever colours you like.

(only wore lipstick for about a year now) My wardrobe is mostly black items, I really do struggle with colours. But coloured lipstick compliments black clothes really well. My skin is very pale very similar to yours, and I really didn't like how the red looked on me. But seeing it on you and liking it so much I definitely want to try red again or maybe at least a few shades of red. I really look forward to seeing your Lipstick choices throughout your videos. 🥰

For sure, black looks great with so many other colours. Also, a few different colours/shades of lipstick can open a little pathway into exploring colours overall if you’d like.
I’ve tried a couple of shades, and I found that’s it’s kind of easier to find a red that works for you then any other colour 😄
I’d say grounded shades of colours work for pale skin well. Of course, I’ve only tested on myself. With my shade of skin, eyes and different hair colours.

As far as the keys go: its not just because the key looks different, but Harry deduces that because "Snape" successfully got past the room, he must have caught the correct key - which has a broken wing from being caught.

Harry Potter is a good example of something you have to enjoy at a distance. If you start thinking about the plot too much or "why don't they use this thing introduced in that movie to solve this problem?", you will start to see the cracks. The many many cracks. Its better to take each movie for what it is and thats it.
Absolutely would love to see the reaction of the entire franchise.

Gotta love the in depth quidditch critique 😂 the more you think about it the less sense it makes as a sport but it does make some great action/comedy scenes both for the films and books. In the books they do practice though, just like any sports team instead of just having the matches. I get why they cut those from the films but they made the sports aspect feel more real and also were a great way to introduce more side characters.
So glad you two are reacting to this. It's my favourite series of all time. ❤

I actually lived in a place with a lot of owls and suprisingly they dont leave a lot of shit. Its usually in a different place from their nest and it looks like hair balls and bone. It also doesnt smell. So it kinda blends in to the woodland.

The love thing only works against Voldemort specifically because she died to save Harry from him. Voldemort was in Quirrels body so he took the brunt of that protection! But Harry wouldn’t be able to do it to anyone else.
Quidditch can last a few minutes or a few years depending on when the seeker catches the snitch...so get your butt ready for the numbing X'D

I think the whole Quiddich argument is valid, however I will say that I think the idea of going only to a game for 5 mins before the snitch is caught is balanced by the idea that a game could last days or weeks. It's the wizarding world! They don't have any other sports! They will put everything aside for a good game, especially the bigger games like the national finals or the World Cup. JK actually has a book "Quidditch through the Ages" which makes for an interesting read for all the dedicated potter heads haha
Sorry last one. I like the mcgonagall is the fair one. She believes in punishing kids, but she still understands that children are not adults yet and picks reasonable rewards and punishments.
She also does not show bias to her own house. She punishes kids from her house and others. She doesn’t pick favorites, but she makes sure kids do get rewarded when they earned/deserved it.
I've always been a bit upset that Neville didn't get more of the points at the end.
Ten points, if I remember correctly is the same amount they sometimes get when answering a question in class. Standing up against your peers/friends at that age is a big deal. But Ron's chess game got so much more (I know there was a sacrifice involved in that game, but I still think the points could've been more evenly distributed).
For anyone who has the Peacock streaming service, you will have loads of fun because they bring in many deleted scenes that add to the experience. The best part is they don’t extend the run time that much.

The first Harry Potter film is probably the best one out of the series and the most quotable and iconic one 😊 I love all the actors portrayals of there characters especially Alan Rickman as Snape and Robbie Coltrane as Hargrid and Richard Harris as Dumbledoore who all three of them rocked it out of the park and who we unfortunately lost😔Rest in Peace to them 🙏 but overall this movie takes back to my childhood days and I still excited when I watch it so thanks for the reaction and can’t wait for the next movie you both do 😊😄❤️

I felt less bad about the points at the end when I realised that they were basically just getting the points back that they lost sneaking out to see Hagrid but also, the sheer amount of times that Snape takes points from every other house apart from Slytherin, especially Gryffindor and Harry, for virtually no reason and the fact that Slytherin wins it every year, I didn’t feel like it was as unfair. Most of this info is from the book though so it’s not a 1-1 adaptation, it’s just background context from the book that I think is canon also to the movies. Anyway, the points system is a rubbish, arbitrary system! Additionally, in the book, they sneak out to meet Charlie so he can take Norbert the Dragon to Romania or something and Malfoy sets them up to get caught so it’s not even about the philosophers stone or them being nosey or rule breaky. They were just trying to help Hagrid and his dragon. It helps me feel less angry with the ending !!! Lol !! But I still agree it’s not the uplifting fun ending it seems when you are a child!!
My favorite thing about the actress that plays Moaning Myrtle is that she was in Bridget Jones's Diary and her first appearance in the movie is her character crying in a bathroom 😂

Maybe have the seeker play as a chaser the first hour. After 45 minutes you release the snitch and at minutes after than a bell soudns and the seeker switches to seeking.

As a redhead if Draco came up to me and said "Red hair, hand me down robe, you must be a Weasley." I would probably be so confused, Not all redheads are Weasleys. XD He was correct with Ron but I'm not, I would definitely have a hand-me-down as the 4th child of 5 kids, and I'm a redhead, (tho there is only 2 of the 5 of us with red hair, me and my eldest brother)
I also have Cluster headaches, my grandfather had them for half his life and they were so bad he had to get a nerve cut in his left side of his face, because it was worse, And Now my doctor says I have a version of it that is less severe but it might get worse later in life, for now it's just Migraines but that I feel behind my left eye but it could get worse later.
Also I genuinely hate the blatant favoritism with Dumbledore and Gryffindor house. The end you could have easily said, "I have a few more points to give." Then give the points then list the order of the houses and who won, but instead he listed them all and gave Slytherin false hope, they thought they won and imagine the punch to the gut at him being like "Oh yeah sorry losers, I'm going to give exactly the right amount of points for Gryffindor to win" he even waited and let them all celebrate for a few minutes, let it sink in then said it. I'm not even a Slytherin or a Gryffindor but it is bs. I'm a Hufflepuff, which means that I dont even have bias mindset, I'm just saying it's insanely rude and unfair to every house to list it that way, its just rude to every kid in that room. Even the Gryffindors, and while they all deserved those points he could have done it without being a jerk to every kid in Slytherin house.

Thanks 😊 we had to cut out like 80% of the movie and make sure our commentary stayed close to double the amount of actual movie kept. It was honestly a real bitch to keep figuring out what more I could cut.

Quitiditch is a stupid sport. I will say one of the things lost in translation between book to movies is that pro players are supposed to be super fast. Scoring so many points a minute that even if you catch the snitch it doesn’t mean your team automatically wins. This idea doesn’t work with kids playing it. Also hard to illustrate in a movie

Sam hasn’t, and I have. I finally got to reading them when I was 19, after I’ve been watching movies for almost 10 years 😄 I only read all the books once, though, so I don’t actually know them cover to cover. I did re-read certain parts that I liked - Maria

I know it might be a pain but still thank you for the message at the beginning. When I look at you and your channels I see and I know you guys are queer friendly but it still makes me, as a queer person, feel more comfortable and safer(?) when reactors and the like straight up say that they don't side with Joan's bigoted and dangerous views. Even more so since we see quite a few people who say they are fine with gay and bi people but hold nothing except hateful vitriol towards trans and non-binary people.
