Sorry for the late reply, but I've been busy with the car. I'll be posting more videos soon. The length I used was 8 inches, but check with what you're comfortable with. Thanks for watching, commenting and don't forget to subscribe to catch my upcoming videos.
Thank you very informative, I was in the middle of three separate projects in my engine bay and was wondering where did the “extra purge vacuum line go
2001 3.8 v6, i spotted the hose collapsing, didnt know what it was to search for, mechanic buddy told me vapor canister, and i ended up here, thanks for the video, now just need to search for parts.
Happy to hear this video helped you out. I finally got my Mustang to pass the California Smog Test. It ended up being the FTP sensor.. I'll be putting up that video soon. Thanks for watching, commenting and don't forget to subscribe.
Did you figure out what caused the P0455 code? I ordered the valve next to the charcoal canister and the one in the front wheel well....will see if those solve the issue...i have already replaced the charcoal canister...
@iironwarrior In my particular case, it was the FTP sensor. I had to have it diagnosed by a professional mechanic. I have a video about it as well. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to like and subscribe.
Yeah both of my hoses were ripped off clean I was driving on the free way and my damn wheel cover came off and since I was driving like 70 mph it wacked the hoses off and my car started shaking and I had no other option but to pull over and hood thing I did since it didn’t want to turn on anymore and I didn’t know what it was and it was dark so I couldn’t see but I could hear this loud air suction sound and I didn’t even have no electric tape to do a quick fix so I just found a plastic grocery bag and tied the hoses up and covered them and it was able to bring me all the way home
Glad to know you weren't left stranded, because that's the worst. I hope this video helps you get your Mustang up and running again. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.
Hello, did your P1000 get resolved? That's what I have in my 02 3.8. Great video should help alot of Mustang New Edge owners out there with this Evap System. Thanks.
The P1000 didn't go away, even after driving over 1,000 miles. Luckily when I went in for the smog test, the mechanic said since the car was running clean he'd pass the car since it had over 1k miles driven. I would check it again, but my battery died and I had it replaced; so I'm starting over again. I'll check once I hit over 1k miles driven. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.
I would start first with checking the hoses and the gas cap. If that checks out, do a diagnostic, pressure/smoke test with a local shop. Hope this helps and let us know what happens. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to like and subscribe.
hey man quick question, I only need to replace the Evap hose lines and was wondering if I could use the old connectors on new hose like a plug and play? Also would I need to purge the fuel system so it runs out of gas in fuel lines? Or is it not necessary for evap hoses?
I haven't tried that, but as long as they're sealed fuel lines, it may be fine. I just disconnected the battery to be safe. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to like and subscribe.
Hey brother I have the exact same codes on my 03 Mustang and was wondering what worked for you to fix the issue, I saw your other videos on purge valve and vent valve solenoid replacement. Just wanted to see what worked for you to get rid of those codes. Thanks!!
I still haven’t posted the video yet, but it looks like it was the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor. The P0457 went away and now I only have the P1000 driving cycle code. I have driven over 400 miles and the EVAP test isn’t complete. I’m just glad I didn’t get any other codes or the check engine. I’ll post the video soon. Thanks for watching, hope this helps and don’t forget to subscribe.
It's my understanding that it carries the fuel vapors and is related to the EVAP emissions and smog tests. I would suggest replacing it. I'm not sure if it'll affect passing a smog test.
These EVAP hoses are extremely hard to find brand new. Your best bet is finding used ones in good condition at the local junk yards. I wish you luck. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to like and subscribe.
I recommend you take the hose directly to the auto parts store and get the best replacement they have. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to like and subscribe.
3:31 the hose that you are talking about/touching is what I need to replace because it collapses everytime I drive and I think it’s what’s making my car shake so bad, what size would I need and how big was the hole in that new hose, thank you
@bruh2858 The hose I bought was a 9.5mm fuel line that you should be able to buy at any auto parts store. All you have to do is cut it to the length you need. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching and don't forget to like and subscribe.
I was shooting the video myself and it was hard to jugle the camera and do the work, so I tried to show the process. Thanks for your feedback and I will try to capture all the steps in detail moving forward. Keep watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.
I bought a brand new Motorcraft part #F8ZZ-9E498-BA from a Ford dealership and a 3/8" (9.5mm) fuel line hose from a local auto parts store. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.
The original hoses are hard to find. I believe they're discontinued from Ford. I was able to find one of the last ones from my local Ford dealership. If you can't get a hold of new ones, the only other option is the junk yard. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe
@@RobertsVideoMachine But why if most likely by now it be brittle. I went today. Was brittle but fuel line hose work just make sure inside hole is exact size and maybe thickness the same or bigger. Thin more changes to brittle sooner. Not sure. LOL but fun being at junk yard.
@@rcrotorfreak Yeah, finding the hoses in good condition is very hard. I hope you find some. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.
@@RobertsVideoMachine That's why we have Auto Zone here. Any hose most likely they have. But not in part number. Sure they have product number of the line but they are sold by inch. You compare their hose to the old one. Evap since have chemical i would match to fuel line version of tubing and exact inner side out side same thickness or thicker is fine not thinner even inside hole is same. LOL
The codes have several possible fixes. For example: top fix is xxx, 2nd top fix is xxx, etc. Every vehicle is different and I replaced the EVAP hoses and Canister Valve, because it was easier than dropping the gas tank and replacing the FTP Sensor. At the end I did have to eventually replace the FTP Sensor. If you have a mechanic friend they can probably narrow it down for you. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.

Couldn’t you use a fuel line for that entire hose?
Can anyone please help me find evap canister hose, where can i buy it, autozone dont sell these for 2004 mustang
