Thanks for the video, I have been trying to get my family into crypto, so getting them a ledger seemed like a step in the right direction. I didn't want to get them the Nano X because if they don't use it, it ends up being a waste of even more money, but if they do the added $70 cost doesn't really add anything I believe they will ever use. However the Nano S Plus seems like an affordable price and worth the extra $20 cost compared to the Nano S. With that said, Ledger has a "Bundle Set" that comes with a discounted price, but only for the Nano S. Are you aware if they offer any Bundle pks with the newer Nano S Plus? Either way I appreciate the quick breakdown and will end up using your affiliate link once I make up my mind. 👍

I've been concerned about the complaints posted on Reddit about the unreliability of the battery of theLedger Nano X. I've wondered is this a minor or major issue and if Ledger Nano S+ is Ledger's response?
Must be the reason because the Nano S+ came out after Nano X.

Yea Bluetooth function is good , but i notice more and more people have a battery charge problem . I hope they fix this ASAP because then you can only use it in your computer
I hear that. Their new Ledger Stax coming out in a few months uses less energy with an e-ink display and claims to have longer battery life in between charges.
With the right cable you should be able to use it with your phone. I have used my Ledger Nano S with my phone with the help of a USB Type C to mini USB cable
Perfect. That's exactly the question I wanted answered. Personally I don't want my ledger to be susceptible to Bluetooth attacks. Unlikely but it could happen. And with USB C being so common now, it shouldn't be a problem finding a cable
Nano S is great for NFT's. Could say something about this too. There is a big reason to buy it and not just skipping it to S PLUS, lol.

can you further explain whats the important fact about the normal nano s regarding nfts?
@@MS-rr9kq nano s is limited with memory so can hold for example 3 apps/different blockchains at same time (BTC, ETH, LTC etc), but if using a nano s just for NFTs, you can hold several NFTs on ETH since they all fall under 1 ETH app on the nano s. But if using for NFTs plus multiple crypto on other blockchains, then may run into memory issues.

I wonder if your position is now changed a year later with the new ledger recovery feature making the nano X in my opinion vulnerable where is the nano? S plus doesn’t have the feature.

Yup! You can use it with android with the OTG kit (just not with iPhone).
Don't forget the Nano S Plus has a USB connection, so if you buy a USB C USB C/iPhone Lightning Port cable, you can still "work" on the go, no?

Unfortunately not, S Plus only for computer, and X for both phone and computer… **EDIT - you can connect S Plus to Android with OTG cable, but it will not work for iPhone. shop.ledger.com/products/ledger-otg-kit

After you explained the deferences thank you for that, the best choice for me is the Nano S Plus. It has more pros than the X version.

I plan to use my ledger as a vault but the few times I use it I want to use it with my phone since it seems more secure to use metamask phone app as opposed to the browser extension, so I'm thinking I might get the Ledger Nano X so that I can use it with my phone the few times that I do use it/want to access it, is this valid?
Yup, because only the X will work on phone, but can also treat it like a vault and store away and use with desktop as well. As for Metamask security, the good thing about ledger is the seed is on the ledger, not on the browser extension. The real risk for ledger whether on desktop or mobile is avoiding phishing links/scam contracts.

Can ledger nano s+ be connected phydically to a phone?
For Android, Yes. iPhone doesn't support the cable through their lightning port, so to use Ledger with iPhone, one would need Nano X with bluetooth.

The crypto is never on your phone/transferred to phone, rather the phone is just an interface. The crypto is controlled by the ledger. If you send from ledger/mobile to a new wallet, then will pay the fee depending on the blockchain/crypto you’re sending.

When you say apps, is that coins?
Correct, more specifically blockchains. For example, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. It’s important to note that many coins such as shiba inu , uniswap, decentraland etc are built on Ethereum (erc 20 tokens) and all under 1 app (Ethereum).

yup, that's the main difference, or said in another way:
-only the Bluetooth version can be used with iPhone
-or if have Android and prefer to use without carrying a cord around

None. The government legislation pending on these make them something you don't want to own. Can you use them without a pc, without an email ? You want the government to have your associated details ?
Would be any option , appart from the hardware wallets. Even ,hot wallets,Defis, exchanges and other blockchain solutions going to be regulated + kyc as soon as the elite powers of all countries align their plans to hunt descentralization + privacy for the sake of their beloved and devouring regulations(aka) give me some of your cryptos and stable coins.
Regulation is the exact reason you DO want to own a hardware wallet…
Simple, If you guys wanna hold crypto for long term then Nano S+ is best and if you wanna trade crypto then it's Nano X :)
