2017 BMW 430i UNBOXING Review - When The 3 Series Becomes The 4 Series Coupe

- For today's unboxing review we bring you the 2017 BMW 430i coupe. What's a 430i, or a BMW 4 Series for that matter? Simple. It's what the BMW 3 Series coupe used to be. That's right, BMW simply split its benchmark sport sedan and coupe into two separate models, the 3 and 4 Series. Sound familiar? It should, because Audi did the exact same thing years ago with the A4 sedan and A5 coupe. Same cars. Only the number of doors are different. But just because BMW decided to launch the 4 Series doesn't make the 430i coupe a bad car. Quite the contrary.
Our tester is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 248 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Impressively, that torque figure kicks in at just 1,450 rpm. BMW also took advantage of the newly christened 4 Series by applying unique styling; it no longer looks exactly like a 3 Series sedan with two less doors. The 430i is sleek and refined, and yet still has a true sporty nature. Rear-wheel-drive comes standard and all-wheel drive is optional for around $2,000 more. We have lots more to talk about in our review. Enjoy!

I think I can agree with all, but just one point. Although the 430i isn't high performance in a straight line, it's a damn spirited car on windy roads due to it's incredible agility. Sure a Camry XSE can keep up in a drag, but it won't be nearly as confident when the road gets technical and that's where cars with athletic genes will separate themselves which I confidently believe this car fits into. So in that definition of high performance, I think it does actually fit the bill.
The "old" gauges are a design statement. BMWs are about analog driving and having an all lcd screen ruins the feel of the car. Not every one likes Audi's digital cockpit design, and likes the "old" system.
BMWs are about to undergo even more of these changes that you don't like. Be prepared.
CarBuzz - Unboxing Everyday Cars and Supercars yeah they already have, the 7 and the new 5 have digital speedometer and tach but it is still designed with that style in mind.
Lol design statement??? Chat shit they couldn't be a bothered to upgrade the interior, this is facts. The whole interior looks outdated to modern audis and even mercs, the next design refresh will show a massive change
I have the 430d Gran Coupe M Sport. I think the GC looks more complete. it's sleek without xdrive and with the low stance. fast car, sporty feel. the car is a GT cruiser and a pleasure to drive. the boot is amazing on the GC - hatchback opening and powered!
Yeah, that hatchback opening is a nice thing to have in a sedan, wait, my bad...four-door coupe.
Ohhhh I love red interiors
Oh, absolutely!
Sarcasm?
Totally agree: BMW needs to update its dashboard and instrument panel. As they stand now, they come across as rather bland compared with those of the Audi A5 or Infiniti Q60.
A new 3/4 Series should be arriving soon, FYI.
Hugh Mongus put on a pair of polarized sunglasses and tell me how good those gauges look in broad daylight
I'm Hugh Mongus. I don't need sunglasses to feel cool.
infiniti lol
Great review! You say you won't have two persons in the back seat but that is good enough for one person, If the back seat is good for one person, it's good for two persons, there are two seats with exactly same head and leg room. I seat two 5.9 to 5.11 adults in my 4 series coupe regularly and they fit conformably. IMO, should be OK as long as you are not obese. The back seat space in the 4 series coupe is the larger and most comfortable one of the class, try seating in a the back on an Infiniti, Mercedes, Audi or any of the cheaper Americans like Mustang or Challenger and you will see what I mean. Heck, even the 2 series coupe as more space that those I just mentioned :)
Thanks! Consider this: what about two fat people in the rear seat?? That won't be comfortable.
CarBuzz - Unboxing Everyday Cars and Supercars put them in the front or drive the family car
you prolly dont give a shit but does anybody know a tool to log back into an instagram account??
I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any help you can give me
@Forest Ellis instablaster =)
@Trenton Rafael Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
That red leather interior is beautiful but $1400???
Yes, and totally worth it.
i wish thats how much it was, I'm getting quoted 4k to change it to red
My coupe sits lower than that and mines pretty much completely stock such a. Great car
How’s the reliability been for you?
Good review. I was hoping you would be reviewing while driving as well not just cosmetic.
um, previous gen 3 series coupe looked nothing like the 3 series sedan... did you even look into the cars before you said that ?
Those manual handbrakes dont fit in with the interior....
Nice review but a bit more research was needed...
My future car is BMW i8 😁👍🙏
I love 430i and red interiors but one thing I hate is steering wheel, compare to C43 I hate the interiors but I really love that C43 steering wheel.
I love it and I will buy the 430i with this steering wheel.
Great review seriously.
Im about to buy this car. Are you able to update the infotainment to have CarPlay?
interesting review and "unboxing" method. I really like it
Omg I love ❤️ it
Does it have carplay?
And that's a Good Thing !!!!!
hey, nice video. remember the name of those rims? thanks
4 Series gran coupe or 2018 Audi a5 hatchback which will debut US market in spring 2017 (They just announced it few days ago)? I know you haven't looked at that car but what do you thing? The new a5 interior will be just like a4.
Dude, I'm so excited for the US-spec Audi A5 hatchback. That car is simply stunning, inside and out. And yes, I'd take it any day over the 4 Series GC (which is still a great car but the Audi is newer and, in my opinion, better looking).
what 430i TWIN TURBO 248hp thats it..
Love the t-shirt
1:14 this is incorrect. In the previous generation 3 series, the coupe was almost completely different in its styling than the sedan
No, the styling was literally the same, save for the doors. If it was supposedly different, then BMW would have split the 3 and 4 Series for the previous E90 generation.
J ab
You are incorrect.
CarBuzz - Unboxing Everyday Cars and Supercars the e92 was literally the same as the e90 - are you joking? it has its own distinct look...
I got 2017 BMW 430i converitble, white pearl exterior and coral red leather heated seats. It has English, French, and Spanish languages. I need BMW supports Vietnamese language for my car to play Vietnamese music.
BMW's iDrive doesn't support Vietnamese? Really? I'm kind of surprised by that.
APPLE CarPlay supports multiple languages includes Vietnamese for Vietnamse song titles in BMW cars. Why no for Vietnamese for BMW for song titles?
I have 430i converitble BMW. The front seats can NOT bend forward for wider space for someone outside can easily get in to the back seat. My old Honda Accord does it well.
2:26 There's also a 4 Series Gran Coupe.
Yes, it was mentioned.
So what's new for the "refreshed" 2017 version other than changing the name from 428 to 430?
Sweet news for the 2015 owners they still pass as New lol
How tall are you?
would you recommend this car in 2020?
It depends on what you are paying for it and what else you are looking at.
Revisit one of these in ten years on the used car market and let me know how much of this electronic technocrap is still working.
Exactly! I'm wondering the same thing. My guess: half of it, at best.
Still holding well
What rims are those I have this car and want those ones
They're double-spoke, five-point black-painted rims.
Ok please get a muffler/resonator delete
Lexus Rc is the best in category

The Ford F-150 Platinum 4x4 with 6" lift and 35" mudders is for men. Clearly, this is good for women and metrosexuals.
So then, I see why you're watching this video.
Brian Weir nah, more like fragile and insecure masculinity lol.
This car is for people that cares about the driving experience.and a little show off... The murican truck is for work.
Why are you so insecure about your masculinity so much? lmao
