This is really interesting, I just started practicing fouettés on pointe for fun in rehearsal today. I can do 2 excluding the starting pirouette and I'm very proud of myself. I find it ironic that I taught myself to do fouettés and à la seconde turns on flat and now I'm self taught in these too.
The heavy pelvis tip made a HUGE difference for me!! Thank you so much!! Could you also please do a video on Cabrioles? it would be so helpful. Thanks!
Over the summer we have a very scary teacher and she makes us do 32 or 16 fouettés on pointe (depending on how nice she’s feeling) I’ve never done fouettés on pointe well I’ve done four but now I know how to successfully do them!
i know im asking randomly but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
i will defiantly be trying to put those tips in when i start to learn how to do fouettes on pointe. these videos are always very interesting and helpful to watch
Do you have any tips getting hyperextension? Could you do a video on increasing hyperextension? This is something I really struggle with! Also do you have any tips for increasing back flexibility?
back flexibility- bridges. bridges day and night. and that thing where you touch your foot/feet to your head on the floor and standing up. also for hyper-extensive legs and arms-theres really not much you can do. some people are born with it but if you stretch your limbs backwards you will cause injury. you can just stretch hamstrings and increase strength to make good lines though.
Exercise 3 reminds me of the arms divers use for twisting dives; definitely optimized for the max amount of rotations (although not particularly pretty 😉).
Omg! This is amazing! Can you do a video on how to move your head back when you do a grand jete? My teacher wants me to be almost able to touch my head.
Hello Claudia! I love your videos so much including this one! I just got my pointe shoes and I am not to the level of doing fouettés yet on pointe or on flat at dance, but I love doing them at home so that when it comes to the time where we do start doing them in class, I can ace them and be ahead of the game! Thank you for all your tips! - Bella Meier
really great video but could you do a video of learning how todo Fouettés on flat, because its something I've always wanted to learn but don't know how to x
Tanya García López momentum, getting the spin of it in the first place often causes you to travel naturally, unless you train it out of it like in ballet you're most likely to travel when trying to do multiple turns, think Michael Jackson when he first started doing multiple turns, it wasn't til much later in his life that he could do them almost on the spot
Claudia Dean Coaching Thank you! Could you maybe do a video on switch leaps &/or firebird? Or tips for attitudes? All of your videos & tips help me so much!💞
as much as I love thus and how helpful it seems, did she already have a basic understanding of how to do fouettes en pointe? Ive never done them but I have to do 16 for audition I have soon.
Tutorial on teaching young 7-10 year olds that have hyperextended legs. Control in 1st, 3rd & 5th positions. How you train them and strengthen them. I've heard so many conflicting advice on this for these young dancers.
Claudia I've been en Pointe for years but I still have very little confidence when it comes to relvéing from 1 to 1 I have a high instep and mentally I'm just afraid to get over to block so I often just fall off. Can you think of anything I can do please? Xxx
I can't even do a fouette in general. I have no muscular strength because I couldn't afford to do ballet consistently so when I went back I'm not at the same level as other girls my age. I might just stick to hip hop 😭
I am from Germany, but i am living one hour away from France. I like your Videos ❤️ But first i didn’t understand what you meant as you said fouettés 😂 That’s not negativ, but it sounds funny
I'm not sure if you'll answer, but two days ago you released a new video on tips for auditions, and when I clicked to watch it, it said it was unavailable. and I looked on your UA-cam channel and I couldn't find it anywhere. I was wondering if you deleted it because I would love to see what your tips on auditions are.
Can you please do a video on knowing when your pointe shoe is the correct fit for you? I've had such bad luck with pointe shoes, like they would fit and be ok in the store when I try them but when I have bought them and used them in class I find that they actually don't actually fit at all. And sometimes it even goes to the point where I can't stand en pointe. I've had like 20 pairs now and there have been some that fit well and others which are just plain awful.
People have different body types. Some people simply can't get that slim without their health suffering, while others are naturally that slender. You have to love and accept your body how it is. No matter how much I starve myself, my body fights getting super slender. I am average weight, not overweight, just normal. I was always trying to get super skinny, but one day I realizes that my body is not meant to look that way and is fine the way it is.
Video: Higher Extensions: How many reps should adult returning to ballet 1-2 hour class per week plus alternate days yoga Pilates cardio barre do of flecir and of attitude like extension? Thanks n Cheers, SuzyQ
Cauldia dear , would you please help or encourage me please because I just had scoliosis surgery and before that happend I wasn't in any ballet classes but I practiced the moves and learned point but now that I have had surgery I want to dance. I'm 11 please Mrs. Dean. It's my dream to dance .
Don't let that stop you, I've been doing ballet for more than 15 years and I'm kinny at all. My teacher always told me to lose weight (and yes it is easier to do ballet with less weight on your body but it doesn't mean you can't do ballet if you're not skinny). Also she pushed me harder than others because I was fat and it actually helped me a lot with my technique. We were 6 people in my level and I was the only one who actually graduated and now I can teach ballet so don't let that stop you. You can do anything if you're motivated enough
Usually 11- 12 is the age range to first go on pointe...but everyone's body is different....it's all about the strength in your ankles..I'm on pointe and I'm 11 and not everyone got en pointe in my class...Just do a lot of foot excersises to increase your ankle strength and that will give u a better chance to get on pointe

OH I'd LOVE a video on cabrioles. That'd be amazing.
Over the summer we have a very scary teacher and she makes us do 32 or 16 fouettés on pointe (depending on how nice she’s feeling) I’ve never done fouettés on pointe well I’ve done four but now I know how to successfully do them!

Hello Claudia, thanks for sharing. But which is the explanation behind the travelling while doing fouetté? Thanks again.

Kiara Fordel same with me!
I want to be that skinny 😩💛🙌
Im skinny. Being skinny isn't so great. I'd rather not have to exercise and be able to eat what I want, when I want. 😉

You don't need to be that skinny to do ballet btw. So many ballerinas that don't have your "normal ballet body"
Claudia, what is the hardest pointe shoes you know? I stuggle to find one hard enough for my feet. Can anybody help?
russians pointes tend to be quite hard
some grishkos are also quite hard
Get hard shank Gaynor Mindens

Where does the teacher's music find?
Omg
How old is she?
I want to start ballet but i'm told i'm not skinny enough

What age can you go on pointe
Hannah Diedrick I depends where you dance and what ur dance school says
It depends where you dance, how long you’ve danced, how strong your ankles are, etc.
Hey there, Claudia has 2 previous videos about this. A pre pointe exercise routine and an interview with a physio. Check them out!
