Cardiologist Dr. William Davis and "Sugar, Salt, Fat" author Michael Moss discuss whether cutting out wheat consumption is a smart idea for losing weight.
@williamdavisMD(see him on Twitter) is 100% correct. Saved.My.Life. Modern-day "wheat" is Not wheat, it Makes you hungry, it Gives you a "beer belly," makes you sick, etc. Gluten-free is NOT the answer. It's "wheat free."
He's proof gluten is bad, look how great his skin is! He's got better skin than some half his age and they do say good health shows through the skin, hair and nails and he is glowing! I know too many people with skin issues, fatigue, anxiety, allergies etc. All i know is this guy is talking the truth because i too was not diagnosed as celiac and had many symptoms of smelly gas and poops, violent burping, hiccups and stomach growling after eating gluten, once i removed it within 1 day all that stopped. This will lead to a leaky gut (gut with holes in) i too have this so i am treating it with bone broth and L Glutamine powder for 2 months whilst on the candida diet too.I am removing eggs, dairy, sugar and white starchy foods in order to fix this.
If you're going to avoid wheat and gluten you might as well avoid all grains because all grains contain a different form of gluten protein which may cause your body to react negatively if you have problems in the 1st place
Start making commercials is a very smart suggestion! THE LATE NITE SHOWS/ COMMERCIALS! Great choice on my opinion. Will get the word out to Americans! Hmm.. It's funny that he keeps finding cures for health issues and people still don't believe him!?! Odd. Like I said before im type one diabetic and had nerve damage in my feet and then I stop eating wheat for a month! And I got rid of it after a year and half. Goin on three months and they feel great still!
3:44 weird how he didn't talk about how wheat-free whole grains (ex. rice, millet, quinoa, amaranth), fruits, and vegetables are all carbohydrates. the fda recommends that carbohydrates make up 45 - 60% of our diet. we cannot live off a diet of just fat and protein like Davis seems to suggest. we need carbohydrates to survive, we just don't need the carbs that come from wheat. kinda odd that an expert would mess up on a question like that
I thought that was pretty weird too. I'm not the kind of person who can eat high levels of fat and meat. He seems to be about going off of grains all together but there are a lot of good non gluten whole grain options and I don't think we have to go off grains all together I'd be dragging if I didn't at least have some oats or buckwheat.
@@kaijukong2878 Maybe humans didn't need them in the hunting and gathering days but human physiology has changed with farming culture. We rely on grains for proper function. I'd say you're right - we probably could "live" without them the same way we could "live" without eating any fruits and vegetables - not healthily or happily.
@@tabaxi I simply do not agree. What is there in grains that I cannot get in whole nutritious foods? Even eating liver every day is more beneficial than eating oatmeal every day. The science of these things have changed. There are so many people thriving off of a grain free diet. Skin clears up, energy heightens, digestion gets better, heart disease and diabetes risk is significantly lowered etc.

Dr william davis is right his book will always keep coming back and be referenced.

Can't you see how energetic and healthy he looks

Well said! Most people will feel so much better avoiding all grains.
Why do people think Davis is fat? Looks very healthy and slim to me. He has a more natural roundish head stricter, maybe that's why people think that?
It's so easy to sit there eating things like bagels and ice cream. If you do . . . your weight will go through the roof.
I avoid all grains except Brown Rice
All I can say is Buckwheat, buckwheat, buckwheat. Flour, pasta and porridge.
Skinny doesn't mean healthy!

Lol. Humans do not need carbs to live. And the amount of carbs that would be healthy for us can be found in vegetables and fruit.

That’s kinda dumb
No one needs carbs
Lol rice starch + rice flour = rice. Apparently nobody should eat rice either.
@ Animate Yourself, if you have to eat a carb, eat rice, it's much better. Carbs are basically just sugar.
Jasmine and organic brown rice and wild rice is fine.
Rice is a grain
wtf 😠😠😠😠.so wat the hell i have to eat?i love wheat products 😢😆😆😆
TheRockyritz83 There are plenty of alternatives to wheat consumption.
