    Pretty informative video here!
    I'm quite interested in a pair of the 800S someday, to fill my "open-back void"!
    However, for mainly gaming, the many sources I saw and read recommend the 800S versus Arya.
    I'd imagine you would be in the same stance?
    For the closed-back, can you compare the 820 vs other high-end closed-back, like the Sony Z1R in example?
    I just got the Sony Z1R and daaaaam they sound amazing!
    What is your thoughts of the Monolith Dac/Amp 788 from Monoprice?
    I have it and do find it pretty neat but there are times I find it a bit weak in the AMP area.
    I had bought the Topping DX7 Pro+ to my girlfriend last week and we were not satisfied. It had a bland sound and was way way too weak in power.
    We ended up returning it yesterday so we may have to look at a more powerful DAC/AMP or maybe just go with a stack this time around.

    Sennheiser even admits the hd820 have more distortion than the HD800S's. If you are interested in isolation, it is a trade-off of reduced fidelity and it depends what is more important to you.

      You really don't need such an OP setup, as long as you're not running them off of basic DAC/amp. Basically any combo worth at least $400 should suffice

    • @QoraxAudio

    I am trying to decide which one to buy 800s or 820 for electronic music production....and even after several comparison videos I am still not sure which ones are better for such matter, which will help better in defining and refining elements...800s which are flatter in sound or 820 which have clearer and more present upper base? Is there anything more you can tell me that might help me with my decision? I understand that you said that 820 have wonky sound...what does that mean? And is there any chance that you just do not like open back headphones or that you used custom cable if I recall correctly? I have an issue with open back headphones, since I hate hearing background sounds, anyone talking etc.. It is distracting for me. I love to cancel out everything...but I am still not sure if those headphones cost too much and won't give me what I need. Damn I need help :D

    Hey man, would like to know your recommendation for closed back headphone for office use. Need neutral sound with hint of warmth. Good/best soundstage and layering (depth) is must. Laid back female vocals is most welcome, but not necessary. No budget concern, but cheaper is better (around 500-700). And, sleek (small) earcup depth is must as i don't want it to look tooo big on my head - i'll be using it in office.

    • @chuckolatte600
      @chuckolatte600 3 роки тому +2

      Man that's REAL tough. It's hard to find a decent closed back HP IMO, the closest budget HP I've found are the m40x, but those can be seen as more of a v-shaped sound.
      Other than that, it would probably be the ZMF Verite Closed at around $2300. Though I haven't tried these yet.
