I know the purists will hate me for this, but being a young boy in the 90's and 00's, the 996 is THE 911 for me, and the Turbo is just the best looking model of the range. Love it.
Start to accelerate from lower speed with 3rd gear and you will get below 8.00sec 100-200 with that car (I have same X50 stock - 7.86sec). Good video! This car is awesome bang for the buck!😎
I think the face lift 996 headlights are some of the best looking porsche ever made. But the pre-face lift ones are ugly but with clear strips they are acceptable.
No, it's 310kph max car. Look how slowly it accelerated from 300 to 310. It's not 200mph car, forget speedo readings. But yes, it's fast. 450 'almost rear' hp
@@LionBlu2000with longer gearing it could reach 200mph. Like he said in the video, it topped out it 310kph on the limiter. It has the potential, that's what I'm saying
@@MyRealName I disagree that it would reach 200mph/322kph even with longer gearing or a higher rev limit. I agree with the comment that it accelerated very slowly from 300kph to 310kph.
996 Wide-bodies will eventually become acknowledged as some of the best 911s ever made. They look great, the nose is flat and slabbed like a 935, they usually have turbo twist wheels which are just legendary, the turbos have mezger engines, the 4S has the light-bar like a 993 and the water cooling gave it a level of performance that exceeds the 993 significantly while still retaining the small car feel that later 911s lost.
Would you mind explaining what you mean by a "turbo twist wheel"? I likely know what that means but just haven't heard it called that before. Is it a name for the rim design perhaps? There appears to be a slight twist in their design, so that would be my guess, the twisted rim design also found on the Turbo model. In any case, those are some gorgeous classic wheels
' Old is Gold !!!!' that's what they say... My favourite type of Performance car , modern classic that still moves today. 90's turbo car's with some enhancements and their light weight compared to modern , can destroy!...This 2002 Porsche turbo is one of them. Good vid.
Can you believe that car is faster on track than a M3 CS or M4 CS with less power than both of them? And those are amazing cars, yet the 996 turbo is 15-20years older.
Most cars cwrry over parts from previous generations and also part sharing. This is normal for car manufacturers. Porsche did the same with the 993 (from rhe 964 etc ) . Please keep it factual
5:18 bro has like no hesitation to stand on the clutch for like half an hour. I don't wanna know how much a clutch release bearing would cost on this car.😢
Still pulls very strongly despite its age. Mad respect to porsche.
Mad respect to the owner for keeping it in that condition
I see Porsche I click
every 911

996 Turbo best lookin Porsche, the little spoiler is perfekt
When I was a child, some 996s had my nose prints on the windows. It was and is such a great car.
1:38 Tbh the headlights have really grown on me and while it is definitely an odd design choice I personally still really like the 996.
Yup...the Turbo headlights are great. Normal Carrera, not so much through.
The headlights shared with the Boxster look awful and cheap.. Not these
I think the face lift 996 headlights are some of the best looking porsche ever made. But the pre-face lift ones are ugly but with clear strips they are acceptable.
The front has got a sharpness no any other generation has achieved
Not odd at all. They look fantastic
450hp never seemed so fast. Topped out by its gearing but its for sure a 200mph (320+kmh) capable car, wow.

@@pgr3290 He clearly wants to say it would be able to do 200 mph if it weren't limited by its gearing. Really not that hard to figure out.

Aerodynamic and relatively light weight than modern 911 still work well lol

996 4S with X51 and PSE screams legal 105db

You get one for 50k today its a really fun investment. Will never decrease in price from here.
I love this car ...this is actually my favorite turbo❤❤❤❤
996 X50, damn impressive for a stock car! I've always liked the 996 design.

Crazy how fast it still is for its power. Porsches are just different beasts.

310 km/h on GPS is serious!
100-200 is sick. I rly thought it would be waaay slower.
That's a very honest 450 right there
Always amazing cars, keep it up guys
w221 s65 amg would suit perfectly to your channel
Prices for these are only going to going one direction over the next few years
Get out of my dreams...get into my garage Mr. 996😍😍😍
i have a manual 996 turbo with hybrids, around 580bhp... awesome
speed twist rims ftw
Fking love this car, clean lines and nice aerodynamics
Love 996s whata car pulls easy to 300+
Something about manual Porsches 👌
There is a reason these were the bargain of rhe century for years

I feel like we are in Need For Speed. This is the time that the 911 was still a true 911 with good dimension. Now the 911 became too big
I see it, I click it, I like it...!!
Hey Max they made a Hyundai electric car recently with a simulated manual gearbox!
that’s probably as close as we will get unfortunately
I had one and regret every single day that I sold it. Mine had aero kit, had 32000 km when I bought it and it also had PCCB.
Why did you sell it?

So 500 kmh reach will no drag ?
With the automatic transmission nobody wants it
First?
Can’t deny the performance but you can ALWAYS deny the headlights. Unfortunately, that will forever be the downfall of the 996.
Matters of taste
I like the headlights very much, the real problem of the 996 is the haters

what happened to dragy?@autotopnl
