Happy Sunday everyone! PLEASE HELP ME by clicking my Torque News link www.torquenews.com/6626/how-get-led-lights-your-2020-toyota-tacoma . It is on the 2020 Tacoma but it helps me every time someone opens my story and reads a little. Feel free to bookmark torquenews.com/toyota to follow my column. Jeff
It's a Mazda2 with Toyota badges. Comes with a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Ironically, you don't get a basic folding arm-rest for the driver. I get it.... an economical sub-compact such as this one, I don't expect a Center Console with storage inside. But I do expect a basic folding arm-rest for the driver. And honestly, for a complete/total price of just under $19K, it should have been included.
I just bought one yesterday in the frost white color because of your channel. I like how nimble it is around turns and easy to drive! Thank you for helping me choose my new car sir!
Just bought one on Friday, and I love it! My 2011 Yaris served me very well for 9 years, and was a great car to drive! This 2020 Yaris has everything I could ever want and more! Nice looking car to boot. Surprised they aren't more popular.
The Yaris isn't more popular because it's in that weird middle ground for buyers taking a serious look at cars in the same class. For those willing to live with less technology, and therefore spend less money, there's the Nissan Versa and the Mitsubishi Mirage. For those who want more tech. and more performance, and thus willing to pay a bit more to get it, there's options like the Chevy LT RS Sonic with its turbo-charged 4-cylinder engine. Good for 0-60mph. of 8.5 seconds. The Yaris hatchback is all about fuel-economy. It gets 0-60 in over 10 seconds.
@@NGMonocrom For me it's about fuel economy and my old car was a 2011 Yaris. Bought it new and drove it all over the USA. Never gave me any problems in the 9 years I owned it. Its sluggish but I don't really want to go 0 to 60 in1.8 milliseconds.
Based on my previous experience with a yaris this one should get on the HWY about 48-50 MPH straight road one person no heavy luggage:) They put the 40 MPG so they dont get a lawsuit.
The Yaris is actually a Mazda2. Mazda has added Android Auto to it, yet Toyota still hasn't added it to the Corolla. The Yaris has Smart Key standard, but it's optional on the Corolla. Since it is a Mazda it doesn't have Toyota Safety Sense. To make it cheaper, it comes with halogen lights and not LED. Mazda offered an update to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and 2014-2018 models and I wish Toyota would do the same on the Corolla and other models because I want Android Auto on my Corolla and Toyota won't offer it.
@@michaelsmith9308 no you can't. They don't have the updated version for the toyota version. Yeah they said you can get the mazda version armrrest. But I bought it and tried to install it. It doesn't fit for some reason, the alignment for the screws doesn't match with the armrest. Even my local toyota dealership they triedto install it but they failed. That's all, thank you.
I think you might be happier with a genuine Toyota Corolla hatch. It offers equivalent fuel economy, more power and a lot more quality features for just a few bucks more. My neighbor just bought one and she is very impressed.
@@hamsterama Wow just wow. The only slight refinement I would make to your declaration is that many Corollas come in from Japan. All the Corolla Hybrids, all the hatches and quite a few sedans come from the Land of The Rising Sun as Mississippi cannot supply the entire American demand or, for that matter, the whole continent. Corolla production in Canada (which supplied much of the USA) ended earlier this year when the plant was converted to RAV4 assembly. BTW the rest of the world just had a new Toyota Yaris revealed to them so hopefully one day it will come here as well. AWD Hybrid anyone?
@@rightlanehog3151 I was at the dealer today and saw and drove both cars. The corolla hatch is just streamlined and has everything PWR in comparison to the yaris hatch. The corolla hatch is much longer and a bit wider, bigger storage etc and ROOMY, however, while the yaris is smaller, NOT by much, its just SIMPLY so CUTE:) kinda like a porsche sexy, small, etc TINY class, the corolla hatch was very much a regular size car. SO its a personal choice. Im getting another another yaris hatch for sure! I really like it & plan to go into a less expensive vehicle.....and I had already done the research on this vehicle & feel it is top notch for me. Enjoyed your review
The Corolla hatch might well be a better choice. For just a few dollars more it is safer, more feature laden, has a better ride, more power and equal or better fuel efficiency.
Sorry Jeff I prefer 2020 Toyota Yaris from Japan that redesign it from ground up and add the new TNGA Platform to the lineup in Japan compare to this 2020 Toyota Yaris that made by Mazda engine and transmission. It still Mazda not a Toyota.
Unfortunately this is not a Yaris and certainly not a Toyota. It's a re-badged Mazda 2. Toyota really needs to sell the real Yaris here like the all-new redesigned model that was recently introduced in Japan and Europe.
Around here the Toyota dealerships don't even stock many of these. Toyota should sell their own cars including the new Yaris you mentioned especially the AWD Hybrid model.
I rather have 2020 Toyota Yaris from Japan that is fully redesign with TNGA platform and also look way better than this 2020 Toyota Yaris/Mazda2 in the US. Also that 2020 Toyota Yaris from Japan is not a Mazda motor and transmission. Have you seen it yet? It looks way better in Japan.

I agree with it being so small and 106 HP i was expecting about 50 MPG or better! I know the UK version hybrid gets 63 MPG, maybe im expecting a bit much LOL, 40 MPG is kinda great: plus its VERY fast taking off, WILL surprise MOST people at first! Although, a person jogging can beat it, expect for turtles and snails. Im thinking since the pruis c is discontinued at a later time there will be a hybrid version in the USA.
@@michaelsmith9308 Toyota has a brand new Yaris which will come with a very efficient Hybrid option. I am not sure if their agreement with Mazda to sell re-badged versions of the Mazda 2 precludes the genuine Yaris from turning up in our market.
I don’t know why they keep calling this US Toyota Yaris when in reality it is a Mazda 2 with a Toyota label, a model that is over 5 years old. Toyota is trying to trick people telling them it’s a new Yaris. Meanwhile the UK gets the real Toyota Yaris 2020.
