- Hey guys, TheSupremeRk9s here! With BDSP only about a week away, I am actually getting crazy excited!!! This is my favorite time of every release because its the time where everything is new, exciting, and we finally have answers to all of the hard shiny hunting questions for a brand new game! In this video I decided to cover all those answers in one sitting to make it easier for everyone looking to know what to do and where to hunt in the upcoming games! We cover shiny locks, shiny mythicals, the pokeradar and even the underground! Thank you guys for watching and I hope to post more videos soon!!

IMPORTANT! Unfortunately, the shiny in game trade that was claimed to be found was fake, and after future clarification from dataminers: the In game trades CANNOT be hunted. Sorry to everyone who was planning to do these :(
Well, to be fair, the games aren’t officially out yet, things are bound to change.

What I do is get both versions and have normal playthrough on one version and shiny playthrough on the other one. Got me a Shiny Turtwig on Shining Pearl. Hehe!
It's actually insane that after A WHOLE DECADE we finally getting new main games without shinylocked box legends. And on top of that, we can even hunt some mythicals! BDSP are gonna treat the shiny hunters well and I love it🌟😁

Great Pokemon owns shiny hunters that much at least bc they screwed up so bad in the shiny hunting part of swsh especially with all them stupid promoted shiny dens their doing
I almost cried when I found out there’s pretty much no shiny locks. I teared up.. I couldn’t believe it I was so excited for you to find out.
I’m not gonna lie I hated the art decision they went with but only bc I thought they would preach “faithful” but then lock a lot of the Pokémon that weren’t locked.. but they didn’t, they really meant faithful and I’m so happy I still can hardly keep my composure typing this.

I got to see the uncatchable Starly shine twice when I hunted Piplup in Diamond and I'm weirdly glad that they didn't shiny lock it in BDSP. I personally thought it was a cool shiny to see. It's also often hilarious to watch other people find it.
@@THGMR-ox7sd Well fortunately in these particular games, it appears they only shiny locked two gift Pokemon that weren't in the originals. It certainly could've been worse. I'm surprised they didn't touch the Starly when they were shiny locking the Mew and Jirachi though. I guess ILCA likes uncatchable shinies more than Game Freak does.

I caught one! While on my second account getting all the starters for my main.

Uncatchable shiny Starly is back as well. Keep this in mind while hunting the starters.
Mew was available shiny in Pokémon Go behind a paywall or in Emerald. Jirachi you can get through the Colosseum bonus disk.
Birds are Pearl exclusive BTW.
Also, you could chain for as many shinies as you wanted in DPP. It was only X and Y you could only get 1.
So geeked that the starters aren’t locked. Can’t wait to get a shiny chimchar! ✨
How many resets would you have to do to get a shiny

Dallas, you are amazing for putting this all in one video. I love watching you shiny hunt... when I get a chance to watch. Personally, I have trouble keeping count, so I usually just do the Masuda method, but I may try for a shiny Chimchar... if I can stay focused. Lots of luck on Piplup.
I don’t count anymore, I prefer to just watch something and hunt until I get it, as counting can be either exciting, or depressing after 36,000 RE and no shiny. So no shame in not counting :)

thank god patches stay rustling with pokeradar. also i hope the chain doesnt break randomly
From what i know about pokeradar, so long as you are hitting the best patches(heavy rustling) you'll be golden. That aside, i know what you mean. Pokeradar was always difficult for me to pick up on due to having maybe 3 to 4 seconds to figure out if a patch was good or not. I've gotten maybe 1 shiny from pokeradar and that was after several dozen failed attempts.
If it doesn’t break randomly then the shinies are kinda worthless if it’s that easy
@@62cum No shiny is worthless, except straight up PKHex/Action Reply shinies. They just have different worths for different people. I do now and then miss when shiny hunting was a smaller community, but I’m glad people have found the same joy I did.

Yeah there's always a 12% chance on any given 4 away grass tile that you break chain in the originals. You can kinda pad the success rate a bit more by catching a Pokemon, then it's only 2% chance of breaking on the next 4 away tile generated after battle, but if it doesn't appear and you have to refresh the radar, it goes back down to 12% chance of another Pokemon appearing.
Savestates on emulator definitely cheese that method if you save before every patch at least, but all my PokeRadar hunts are legit.

I remember in my first play through of og Pearl I caught a shiny shinx and I didn’t know how rare they were so I unknowingly gave it to my brother who later deleted his file.... haunts me to this day

Hey can't be worse than people resetting for a new ID and getting a shiny minccino or cinccino in gen 5 that they can't even battle let alone catch
I'm calling it either I will get multiple shiny starly before my piplup, or I get both shiny on the same run.
Also Manaphy's egg worked in a way similar to other mystery gift eggs I think, in that it can not be the ID of the person who receives it, but if you traded it to someone who does have the right ID (obviously highly unlikely) then it would hatch into a shiny, and if not reset back to the egg not being hatched and trading it to a new player for a new ID. If the egg works the same way in BDSP there might be a chance to get a shiny manaphy, since it has not been confirmed if the egg will be locked.
As of gen 8, eggs' shininess are now determined on being received, not on being hatched.

5:48 Today I made a new Shield save because my Shining Pearl isn’t coming till Saturday, and the literal first Skunky I encounter was a shiny and I burst out laughing. That has never happened to me before but I’ll gladly take it again

radar keeps shaking?! now THAT'S a QoL change, if/when the events come out i am DEFINITELY hunting shaymin, not sure about arceus yet but i love that tiny hedgehog
It also can’t place spawns anymore in spots with no grass, which in previous games would either reduce your number of spawns or even break your chain. You’ll always get 4 shaking spots now
Dark rain and Shaymin being huntable is so exciting! I tried to void glitch so many times in DP but I just can’t do it lol.

Same, I'm glad for the new changes to things, but others I'm uncertain about like the underground (as well as the overall visual style of the overworld 3D character models, not in-battle ones). Tempting though for that freebie Manaphy egg for purchasing the game near launch.
