This still has less than 4k views, less than 60 likes and only 4 comments so far? After more than 4 years, WTF? This song is brilliant. The great glass elephant as a whole is very different from Degeneraterra and To Speak, To Listen, but it's amazing in it's own right and you can see the progression from these earlier roots. Maybe some day you guys(Eidola) can go back and re-record or remaster a few of these songs. They are awesome songs, but a bit of polish would make them shine even brighter. :)
I know this is a dead thread, but I have a theory that their newest album (The Architect) is actually a sort of revisiting of the concepts explored in this album, to the point that I believe it’s an alternate timeline of the same story. Bear with me, but Andrew has said that To Speak To Listen ends with the protagonist unifying humanity in his timeline, but discovers there is an alternate timeline where a version of himself has yet to find the light. It’s my belief that The Architect is about the protagonist reaching out to this version of himself to realign him with God, much in the way that this album is about the protagonist learning to seek and find God in the first place. The twist this time, is that the voice speaking to the vagabond is the vagabond himself after having found enlightenment, and using his experiences to show him that salvation is attainable even for someone like him. I’m ranting and the theory isn’t perfect, but that’s the general idea.
Man people are really sleeping on Eidola. This song deserves so much more attention
[Verse 1]
Mercury into gold
Manifest yourself a place to hold
Compromise the dream, suffocate the dreamer
You'll never know
We are the perfect balance of imbalance and subterfuge
We don't have the answer
[Verse 2]
She will coalesce into existence
Omnipotent, immaculate
Our mother's hands are perfect
They will teach all of us how to let go (x2)
[Chorus]
I am imperial
(The son of the son)
I am collected
(Into the only one)
The burden of the throne
Panegyrized in stone
Exiled from
The temple of the weak
[Verse 3]
Transmutation
The Magnum Opus dignified
Amalgamate the soul
Detach yourself from reason
And then you'll know
We are the perfect semblance of God and her intransigence
Vindicated from antiquity
[Instrumental]
[Outro](x4)
I need light
I need oxygen

Dave Locke this album is my lifeblood. perhaps the most unique sound i'll ever encounter.
