Glad to hear that you are getting to see your team be dominant again. Definitely a good feeling. I am a vols fan that started watching in 97 at the age of 7. This is the first sign of hope for us to start looking competitive again, I was expecting a, at most, 8 win season. So if we lose out, I won't be happy since I know what we CAN do, but ill be content that this seems like a good start to rebuilding some dominance in the SEC again. To know that it could start being a toss up between who wins UGA, Bama, LSU, UT and even Ole Miss, is nice competition to see in our conference again. Really reinforcing the fact that the SEC is the dominant conference.
Somebody fell for the media hype and fell asleep not noticing that Kirby has been hammering nails and developing a solid team towards the ultimate goal of having experienced depth in the sophomore and freshman classes. Kirby isn't just about this season. He is building a cathedral of team, talent development and confidence in Athens. No, Kirby is after dominance for years to come.
@@tjhodge201 Take away 10 points and Georgia still won. The reality is that the refs kept some points off the board for Georgia as well because there were 3 plays where the WR had Tennessee defenders burnt and was snatched back by the jersey and it wasn't called and two of those was the same WR. Also a clear safety wasn't counted. Georgia is head and shoulders better than Tennessee and it showed. Tennessee would not have even gotten a single TD if Georgia had not gotten a facemask penalty on 4th down.

The Tennessee fans got Stetson's phone number and made 600 calls to his phone the night before the game. After Stetson scored the first TD, he mocked and laughed at the brainless Tennessee fans. Backfired on those idiots who posted his number and the stupid Tennessee fans got it stuffed down thier throat. LMAO Rocky Flops!! That was even more stupid than Tennessee fans tearing down thier own goalposts and throwing it in the Tennessee River. Tennessee was ranked #1 for 1 week. Georgia brought that to a screeching halt. Then S Carolina beat Tennessee 63 38. Tennessee embarrassed themselves twice.

Vols fans have been saying if this game was in Neyland, they would've won. Like we haven't had our name on the lease of Neyland Stadium for about a decade now.
From My Perspective, GEORGIA DID EVERYTHING I ASKED THEM TO DO SATURDAY AGAINST TENNESSEE: - DEFENSE WAS A BRICK WALL. - OFFENSE SCORED WHEN IT MATTERED. - MANAGED THE CLOCK IN THE SECOND HALF. It may NOT have looked Dominant by the Score itself, BUT GEORGIA SMACKED TENNESSEE BACK TO REALITY. Next Stop: STARKSVILLE, MS!

@Cam Smith yeah I’m not taking anything away from Georgia in that game we got beat and that’s it. But we played absolutely terrible and didn’t show who we are at all. We are much better than what we showed
Kirby has this program looking really dangerous. Love all of the in/state talent UGA has. The state of Georgia is loaded with talented athletes. Go Dawgs!!
I stand by a statement of mine. You take the right coaching staff and you could recruit a national championship team from Georgia every year. We are loaded with in state talent.
No doubt Georgia won the recruiting battle this weekend. Dawg nation we kept the faith. Georgia high School players know that they can stay home and and accomplish every thing they want.
If Dawgs didn't get that pressure on Hooker, he probably doesn't overthrow on 2-3 TD passes. But the same could be said about Bennett's pass to Arian Smith (Arian's fault). Tennessee didn't have the makeup, the tenacity, to rebound from being punched in the mouth. Heupel has the challenge of instilling that in his team. Kirby lives and breathes it.
Best comment I've seen in the past 2 days. I'm a Dawgs fan. Those 3 were bombs on burnt defenders. But just out of reach. Stet had 2 or 3 similarly overthrown passes but they wouldn't have been guaranteed TD's. At least 2 of Hookers would have been.

I'm not shocked TN lost Saturday to GA. Honestly, I think Heupel have them way ahead of where I thought they would be right now. I saw a comment on here where someone said that TN did not have the tenacity to hang with GA. I have to disagree with that. I think "mentally" is another area where TN has improved a lot. They didn't slump their heads down and just take a beating from GA...they kept fighting. You can learn how to "win" from some losses! This GA game has allowed them to gauge where they are right now and where they need to improve. GA's crowd did to TN what TN's crowd did to Alabama....that crowd noise help create penalties and affect play execution. Keep in mind GA got dudes sitting on the bench better than most college programs period... TN will be alright... They lost a lot of really good players last year and still made a big leap in improvement this year! If Heupel continues to recruit at a higher level, they will continue to be able to compete and beat their rivals in the SEC and beyond!
Much respect to Georgia and Kirby Smart, they are the best all around team in America and are far and away #1 in the nation. Did everything that every team had tried to do to Tennessee and failed: control the line of scrimmage, take away the tempo, put together long and punishing drives, and then suffocate with high caliber defense. Can’t wait to see how the rest of our season goes but hats off to the Dawgs they are a juggernaut of a program.
Richt was always good, just never great. When he was fired all dawg nation wanted our guy home. I don’t think any of us thought it would be what it is now. Kirby has blown the lid off this team and university. He bring us a nation champion-chip and what looks like our 5 out of 6th East crown. Now the key is staying there.
Josh we had 21 5 stars in attendance and dozens of other 3-4 star. I thought everyone knew we reloaded and our coaching staff is developing talented freshmen faster than anyone in the country.
Georgia wasn't built overnight. We have 6 straight top 5 recruiting classes. But if you go back and grade those again based on performance and NFL draft positions, it would be much higher. Our roster is just way deeper and much better than most other schools. I am not saying Georgia cannot be beat, but it will take a mighty effort.
I realistically said 8-4/9-3 this yr. If someone told me 11-1 and a New Years Six bowl I would have been elated. Let us get a couple of good recruiting classes under our belt and then we'll see where the expectations go.
Haha the same fans that are “happy” with 11-1 are the same ones saying they were gonna steam roll Georgia. You can’t and never will recruit on our level. We run the east. Continue to be happy with second best

they didn't have a 'bad game' UGA enforced their will on UT. They didn't just get punched in the mouth they got KO'd. The score was not an accurate indication of the game
Much respect for Kirby Smart. He was taught by the best in Saban and it shows. That said, Kirby has his own style and influence that is unmatched. He doesnt fear any team and he can depend on the players that he recruits to live by that next man up mentality. He recruits the best and expects the best out of those players.
I completely understand your professional situation. It is well deserved, you're the best sports journalist ever. And - thanks for allowing yourself to feel from where you come, sir.
Georgia didn't score more because they started to run-out the clock the second half. Also, Georgia plays roper-doper, why show anything offensively that you don't need to win the game.
Great defensive scheme, 8 pre-snap penalties, overthrown balls, 1 in a million punt, rain...It was a perfect storm.Hopefully we get to see them play again on a neutral field.
In the 2nd half, when it began to rain, Kirby was not going to let Stetson with his small hands, start throwing it to continue drives....Dawgs had a 3 score lead, and the defense was in control, so you play the clock and run the ball....Football is about making plays...Stet made a play....the punter made a play....the defense made play after play....Georgia made plays and the Vols didn't....In fact the last 10 points Tenn scored were extensions of penalties called against the Dawgs, twice on 4th down plays....Yeah the crowd made a difference, but we knew that when the students had filled all of their sections 45 minutes before the game what was coming...What a statement
Favorite part @7:37 he said what I been thinking the past couple weeks before the game. UGA just knows how to rise when it matters now and that’s the biggest thing Kirby has now. They’re flat out elite everywhere.
We tried to tell you that it was going to be tough for Tennessee to come into Athens and beat the #2 defense in country and the 2nd offensive team with the next highest scoring offense behind Tennessee.
I don’t think people will ever respect sanford stadiums home environment… rumor has it the decibel level broke the cfb record for loudest game of all time. If it was anything like UGA v Notre Dame a few years back, I wouldn’t be surprised.
It was louder than ND. I was at both games. I think officially they have it as the second loudest ever, by 0.6 decibels. I can honestly say I have never been in an environment like I was Saturday. It was pure insanity.
It didn't break the record of 133.9 at Washington in the 90's. Sanford hit 132.6 official, but it was damn loud enough to matter. Our fans are elite and rose to the challenge.
All year I told anyone that would listen that, "UGA is going to paint the walls with Tennessee's blood." (to quote a phrase). Then, I see the Kentucky-Tennessee game and I was impressed with how the Vols performed in what I felt like was a vulnerable spot. I also listened to all the prognosticators tell me that it was going to be a close game. Then, like a fool, I abandoned my instincts and tell my friends that UGA will win in a close one. Then game day arrives and for approximately four hours . . . 😆😆I watched UGA paint the walls with Tennessee's blood. LOL! Go Gamecocks!
How come when Georgia wins a game by just 2 touchdowns they “painted the walls” with their opponents blood but when Ohio state does the same thing they “struggled” against their opponent
@@theread3480 I couldn't tell you. I don't think I've watched an entire OSU game all year. I did watch part of the Penn State game. That wasn't a painted the walls game, but it was clear the Buckeyes were the better team. I watched the Tennessee - UGA game and the score doesn't indicate it, but it was definitely a painted the walls game.
My favorite part is that the UGA 23 defense will be even better. This was a young team. They will be a beast next year. It will be another UGA Bama year...
UGA fan here, as it got closer to game time I got more confident that UGA was going to win. When Kirby asked the fans to show up and be loud that’s exactly what happened and more! I went to the game and I couldn’t talk the day after I screamed so loud. I really think Tennessee has a good team but it’s not what Kirby has. Had this game been closer UGA still wins because of depth on both sides of the ball. UGA did exactly what they wanted too and if you take away those two fumbles UGA have to Tennessee it is a perfect game played by UGA
Kirby knew the secret to beat Tenn. Just make sure the defense was set before Tenn. quickly snapped the ball. Their whole offense was based on throwing a pass before the defense was set. Once you got past that - it was a gimme.
Kirby is why Georgia can lose so many players to the draft and not drop off. He did it at Alabama for 9 or 10 years. Hopefully Saban can find another Kirby before he retires because Pete isn't worth a crap. Saban also needs to find a different offensive coordinator that knows how to get the best out of the players like Sark. Billy Boy was not the answer to losing Sark. If Sark and Kirby was to ever get together, they could win as many games and National Championships that they wanted. Hands down.
Someone put it like this: Saban has had a constant rotation of ACs and coordinators over the years because the good guys keep getting poached by other schools. The fact that the current crop of coordinators and ACs have yet to be poached speaks volumes about their quality. Bama is going to be in the uncomfortable position of having to actually fire coordinators instead of having them graduate from the Saban Coaching Rehab Clinic.
@@TheRealerArbor yea because you have beaten alabama twice in one year lol it's hard to be them twice and you only won by 14 that's not a blowout to a team that talent wise is inferior.if they have the talent ga does I just about guarantee a different outcome.
I will agree that Kirby has made a huge change to the program but the REAL change came from the administration. Georgia was middle of the pack in the SEC in terms of their facilities, coaches salaries, support staff prior to Kirby taking over. Richt had asked for so many things only to be turned down by the administration. This all changed darn Kirby came in. I’m not saying that Richt would have won a championship (although he came very close a couple of times) had the administration fully supported him. What I am saying is that Kirby would not have the success he is having g had he recd the same support that Richt had. Sometimes programs need a change. I’m glad that this change worked out for the better and that the administration finally woke up and realized that MONEY wins championships in college football - at the very least, it gives you the opportunity to compete for one. Without the financial support, it is a really tough go.
As a Tennessee fan I think we all knew we were going to lose the line of scrimmage, I just didn't think it would be that bad, similar to crowd noise I thought we moved fast enough where Samford would need to be constantly loud, and it was too. The one thing I will say Is for how Tennessee plays I think the game was closer than it actually was. Vs good D's like Bama, we had about 4 open shots deep Hooker hit on 3 of them, vs Kentucky we had 2 open shots deep and Hooker hit both again. Saturday there were 3 times Tillman or Hyatt had a walk-in in a touchdown if Hooker hit them and he overthrew it every time. When playing a good D you have to capitalize on the chance and where Georiga gave us room to capitalize we did not take advantage.
@@passportnuke again what I’m saying is Tennessee had chances in the first half to score Hooker overthrew them, but they were open and Tennessee has a chance to score like they did agaisnt Bama they just missed. Secondly I’ve kept seeing every UGA fan say that but why would you not want to make it a 3 score game? Why would you not want to embarrass the #1 team at the time and your rival. Why did you score 50 against Oregon but only 27 agaisnt us. That’s a terrible debate imo and I think the rain stopped y’all from throwing because it made no sense to risk it in Kirby’s mind.
@@HockeyCentral-xd8fs the goal is the keep the ball out a high scoring team and keep the defense fresh. I mean anyone that watch the game know that’s what happened
@@passportnuke you’re literally missing the point I’m trying to say. Is that the exact same first half could of happened and if Hooker doesn’t overthrow 2 guys it’s 24-21 UGA. Now again full credit to Samford and the Georgia D for making Hooker uncomfortable but the looks were there and he just didn’t connect
@Mid Grade If TCU goes undefeated and Tennessee wins out Tennessee should definitely get in over TCU. TCU has played nobody compared to Tennessee. Their schedule does not even come close to a top 4 resume.
If Georgia wins out, TCU falters, OSU pounds Michigan and Oregon wins out we will see a four team playoff where UGA has already “beat down” two of the three other teams.
Yea I agree. I’ve heard folks say TENN can’t slide in. UGA beats LSU and then TENN slides in. Osu vs UM, winner. And we will see how TCU performs down this stretch.
I don't think Georgia would have won anyway but Tennessee laid an egg (teams do that, Georgia did that in Atlanta vs. Alabama last year). Georgia also played one of their best games (at least defensively) that they have played all year.
A referendum on the manner and make up of college football was held in Sanford stadium. College football as we know it attained a much needed victory. The Tennessee model would have become the norm and the game would have evolved into faceless arena football. For a precious moment the game is safe
I really hope we get to see Tennessee vs Georgia in the 1st round of the playoffs. Not taking anything away from Georgia at all…they did what they did just like we did to LSU at their place. I 💯 believe a rematch would be much more competitive for both teams.
41-20 Dawgs on a neutral field in perfect weather. Football is won at the line of scrimmage and no amount of high powered QBs or WRs will change that. Georgia just has better players and a way better coaching staff.
I don't understand how people keep saying it wasn't that close. They lost by 14 and had several opportunities to kick field goals, but obviously didn't, for obvious reasons lol. Georgia scored 6 points after 14:17 in the second. Georgia defense was dominant throughout. Their offense wasn't throughout. Not to mention Hooker missed three wide open receivers to leave 21 points off the board. Georgia did very well, Hooker didn't step up.
Did you watch the whole game. That offense was the best i've seen from any team all year. They handled every aspect and basically did what they wanted when they wanted. In the second half you could count how many times they threw the ball on one hand. Just curious, did you want them to keep their foot on the gas and completely obliterate the team?
It wasn’t close because you can literally see the difference of overall talent and development between both teams. Of course the Vols looked like they played horrible, that’s what happens when you face pure domination and better overall talent across the roster, not to mention Kirby is simply a better coach. But Vols are still in the cfp picture for sure.
All of that is nonsense. Georgia didn't want to score is BS. That's why they kicked those two field goals right? Not like Stetson didn't overthrow several people. As far as Hooker overthrowing, I didn't say Georgia didn't have anything to do with that. But when the receiver has a two stride lead on the defender, you can't overthrow by five feet. That happened twice with Hooker not being pressured. If I'm not mistaken, it didn't rain until after halftime (didn't keep tabs). Georgia didn't score but six after 14:17 in the second. So you are trying to say Kirby didn't want to score after the second quarter started? So they could of done whatever they wanted, but didn't, even though they tried because they tried to score. Nonsense. You guys simply took the Vols ability to get out of 1st gear away. Good on them.
Kirby recruits hard. His message? You have to want to play at Uga to be here. We aren't bringing portal players in to jump over your commitment to us. You can play I the game as a freshman if you work hard.
I don’t wanna take away from what Kirby Smart has done, but it’s not just one dude. Kirby Smart could not be doing what he is doing if he had to put up with Michael Adams for over a decade. Remember, it was Jerry Moorehead, who chose to make the move to Kirby Smart. Jerry Morehead, in maybe his second or third year as president of the school. Look at Michael Adams tenure at UGA, all he did was try to suffocate athletics, Jerry Morehead wants to win. If everyone’s pulling in the same direction, this is what you can get. Michael Adams honestly thought the athletics was in the way of academics at UGA, Jerry understands that if you want to elevate academics, you can do it on top of great athletics. So it is a cultural change, I agree with that. But it’s a cultural change from the top to the bottom, not just from one man out. Again, Kirby deserves a ton of credit. But watch how many times you see Jerry Moorehead at a football game, and then go back and see how many times Michael Adams was on the field watching a game (pretty rarely).
In your video about Bama you were saying if you took out 1 game last year…. I thought you were going on a rant about how good Georgia has been but instead it was about bama being suspect.
@@thefragrancevol753 wasn’t trying to be arrogant or snarky with the question, I just wanted some outside input and insight as to what other BESIDES what Georgia fans think. But of course butt hurt people will take it and make it out to be anything else to compensate ✌🏾
Your right.. None of that stuff matters. You either win or you don't. ( Some)Homefield advantage can be worth two scores. Offense sells tickets, Defense wins championship's. Every game is different. Talent gaps are nearly insurmountable. Ohio State is sleepwalking and still in the top three. Georgia is the best team in the country.
I knew UGA was going to roll. And I never feel confident about upcoming games. ALL the intangibles favored UGA. And there was a lot going on the weeks leading up to it. But when the playoff folks put UT at #1 and us at #3... fahgetaboutit.
If the refs gave UGA the safety, if Arian smith caught that last deep ball, if UGA actually tried in the second half those 3 plays UT fans keep talking about wouldn’t matter anyway
I can not believe all the hate for Tennessee in these comments! Nor can I believe the ignorance. Tennessee is an overachiever. They have done more with less than anybody in football but when a legit championship contender got them at home the were shut down. The fact is they have nothing close to the talent UGA has and the drop off from starters to 2nd string is huge for UT where as UGA is 3 deep with NFL players. Tennessee has better days ahead and no matter how bad this loss hurts it can't bother a fan base it had to suffer through Jeremy Pruitt Butch Jones and Derek Dooley. GO BIG 🍊
Because a lot of y’all Tennessee fans were saying Georgia was over rated and that Tennessee was gonna pound Georgia and home crowds didn’t matter and all this that and the other. Vols by fiddy. So they’re just coming back to these shit talking vol fans and seeing what they have to say about this so called over rated Georgia team. Which a lot of vol fans disappeared that was talking that shit lol

So you graduated from UGA around 1976?
The reason I ask is I was a student at UGA in the mid to late 70s. Maybe our paths crossed at some point, lol.

Rocky Flops!!

It may NOT have looked Dominant by the Score itself, BUT GEORGIA SMACKED TENNESSEE BACK TO REALITY.

I rewatched the entire game yesterday. Was so awesome to watch. They played better than the championship actually. Go Dawgs 😎
SANFORD STADIUM WAS ROCKIN!
I'm a Vols fan, but UGA is on another level right now. Vols are not yet to that level...close and closing the gap. But not there yet. GoVOLS!
I couldn't agree more. Hooker didn't step up in the pressure. Good job Georgia. Go Vols!

Hats off to the student section..was on opposite side, and y’all didn’t let up once!

It was pure insanity.
it was louder supposedly hit 130 dbs
Hit 128 dbs
I take that back , it’s reported at 137 dbs
It didn't break the record of 133.9 at Washington in the 90's. Sanford hit 132.6 official, but it was damn loud enough to matter. Our fans are elite and rose to the challenge.
Anybody who knows football knew how this game would turn out...
Well said, yes, a couple of plays either way would have changed the complexion of the game.

Thanks Josh. Real nice job.
I think yall can beat them next week. I'll be a Gamecock for sure!
Great video Josh
As a volunteer I respect your take win or loose. Man I’m pissed. Hope we get another shot this season.

The best receiver didn't even play, He is ready to come back. #5 AD Mitchell Who torched🔥 Alabama in the National campaign ship.
We stop trying to score after halftime. All we did was run the clock down. It really wasn’t close at all
@@passportnuke again what I’m saying is Tennessee had chances in the first half to score Hooker overthrew them, but they were open and Tennessee has a chance to score like they did agaisnt Bama they just missed.

“Uh oh” 😂😂😂
I bet they won't call the Mailman's phone again 😅
I don't understand how people keep saying it wasn't that close. They lost by 14 and had several opportunities to kick field goals, but obviously didn't, for obvious reasons lol.
Georgia scored 6 points after 14:17 in the second. Georgia defense was dominant throughout. Their offense wasn't throughout.
Not to mention Hooker missed three wide open receivers to leave 21 points off the board.
Georgia did very well, Hooker didn't step up.
Because it wasn’t Georgia could’ve scored more if they wanted to and that defense was the reason hooker couldn’t make those throws
It wasn't close. It started raining and Georgia went into full let's run the ball and shorten the game mode.
Ga took their foot off the gas the whole second half. It could’ve been real ugly!
Like a cat playing with a mouse. Go Dawgs!
In your video about Bama you were saying if you took out 1 game last year…. I thought you were going on a rant about how good Georgia has been but instead it was about bama being suspect.

Point! 👊🏼
GO BIG 🍊
It’s because y’all were so cocky and over confident. Hope y’all get a fat slice of humble pie.
TN fans were talking the most unhinged and delirious takes and deserved to get beat down
Brother agree with everything but if by some crazy chance they got a rematch there is no world where Tennessee wins. Utter dominance, they could do nothing and there's nothing they can do to change that
