Greetings from Nova Scotia, Canada where the seasons are opposite to New Zealand! I must agree that a gentle walk through my garden every morning does an excellent job of spotting baby problems before they get out of control! I spent 100 days on the northern island as an adjuster assessing water damage due to frozen pipes so I know you get frost but nothing like a Canadian winter.
I appreciate your to the point approach on all your postings!

Can't believe your poppies are flowering already! Mine are only half way :) What do you do for leaf curl at this time? I keep pulling affected leaves off as I find them and have foliar fed my peach with seaweed/fish solution. Anything else I can do?

Hi Maren - sorry to miss your comment! Nothing else to do for your leaf curl now. You can use lime sulfur in the winter or take the biological approach with monthly foliar seaweed feeds and seaweed beneath the mulch. I love EM in my foliar sprays too. Variety also play a big part - golden queens and the like are sitting ducks if you live somewhere with high spring rainfall. Try Blackboy or April White or River peach. Happy gardening Kath
