This was a nice song, I hope you've got 'Saturday Night' on your play list. Also, the sweet as fronted by Brian Connolly was a great band for their harmonies; one of the few bands to have 4 brilliant singers and so much personality. I don't think I've heard a better falsetto than Andy Scott (Solid Gold Brass, Starlight). They were huge in Australia but didn't get the world-wide recognition they should have. They influenced so many bands that came after them.

I think I wrote this on yesterday’s video, but I’ll reiterate it. A fantastic 1-2 punch combination in Mossy’s and Barnesy’s vocals. So good at complementing each other tonally. With bands that have two or more singers sometimes it’s hard to tell who is doing which vocal (sometimes I struggle to pick John or Paul in a particular Beatles song and then realise it’s George), but I can always tell whether it’s Ian or Jimmy. Totally distinctive, yet a great blend. And this show still highlights Jimmy when his voice was still completely solid. Awesome stuff. Great track choice, Chris!
Going in for an early pledge for Chisel week 2. Keep up the excellent work lads. Heaps of excellent songs to go. I do hope "Breakfast at Sweethearts" from around 1979 is on the list, especially if you enjoy Reggae music. Love Chisel 🎶🎵

Cold Chisel's Last Stand gigs at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in 1983 were it for me. I went to one and even though they have resurrected themselves on a number of occasions since, 1983 was the end of their golden period in my eyes.
I guess so. We don’t stay young and unchanged forever. I’m pleased to see both gentlemen still with us and still performing, and not just the old songs. If Jimmy hadn’t change his ways I think he’d be long gone.
Aaah a favourite track. It’s a beautiful song isn’t it, beautifully performed as always. Ps. You need to listen to Barnesy doin stone cold with Joe Bonamassa. It’s magic.
I remember being devastated when they broke up, I was at Trade school in late 83 and a guy in my class told me that they were having their last concerts in Sydney. I lived in Melbourne and though I was 18 didnt have my drivers licence yet so couldn't drive my 1974 Cortina that was sitting in my driveway. I drove the thing up and back the driveway every day a million times until getting my licence in February 1984, I drove the neighbours and my parents mad. I wanted to get a ticket and fly up but my Dad said no in regards to flying up plus the tickets sold out in no time. I think a lot of their fans were pissed off at the time because it was fairly sudden. I bought the Last Stand concert on VCR which was great but would have loved to have been there. Seen Barnsey and Mossy many times solo but still haven't seen Chisel live in any of their reformed tours.Maybe one day but at 58 getting too old.
Don Walker later re-did this song as "Danielle" with his part time (one album every six years) post Chisel band "Tex, Don, and Charlie". One of my favourites...i love when they share the vocals, just brilliant! Cold Chisel split up in the same year i returned to live in Australia so i was shattered that i had never seen them live...but then they reformed, and i finally saw them on the Yakuza Girls tour.
Reformed in '88? I think that should be '98? Last Wave of Summer EP and Tour of the same name. Was a bloody great concert too, but Ringside in 2002 I thought was as good as one could get! Crazily, when they performed at the Sydney 500 Supercars event in 2009..... I don't know why, I don't know how.... there's never been a tighter rock set that I've seen in 45 years of concert going!
They definitely did not reform in the 80's. That album they left with in 1983 called Twentieth Century was bittersweet as had so many wonderful songs like this and Saturday Night that we loved after they broke up. Jimmy Barnes was full on into his solo career for rest of 80's and so was Ian Moss in his. I think they broke up maybe because drummer Steve Prestwhich and Jimmy would be willing to kick each other in the balls around this early 80's time. For some reason I thought it was Phil Small and Jimmy that would fight a lot but think it turned out to be Jimmy and Steve. So glad they did reform for new albums in the 80's. I only started listening to music when they broke up so was bittersweet this band I fell in love with were already broken up with the concert movie Last Stand was on at the cinemas. I actually saw Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss individually on their solo careers and as good as they were as solo artists the band itself was so magical having them all together. I never actually expected them to re-form together and see them live so making the most of this Live Stand footage was all I had for decades as a fan.
The Last Stand documentary is great. They talk about the fights particularly between Barnes & Prestwich which were quite violent. I went to the Last Wave of Summer show in Brisbane when they reformed in 1998.

I'm afraid Alex is right about women being unforgiving and bitchy. As the youngest girl, with two brothers who had more time for me than my big sister, also having more male friends than female, I can vouch for that. I always admired males for their ability to forgive after a fight, I only had two female friends as forgiving as I am. Lol, every girl who had a crush on Mossy wanted to change their name to Janelle when it came out. Such beautiful sentiment and meaning behind it too. The rest of the world sure did miss out, but chisel aren't the only great bands of Australia, but still one of our best. So much love for these guys 🥰💖

Be well and I hope your sisters are nice now
@@TheThamesmen Aww thanks 😘
It's just one sister thankfully, but we're good now 😁💖
Moss has had considerable success as an Solo artist, and Barnsey is still rocking out but is in hospital at present getting surgery on his back and hips,,
Another cracking Chisel performance.☮️
And what about the band?
You are still the coolest.
Me?
@@TheThamesmen yes You . Both.
@@PaulA-bv1rt lovely comment. Thanks

Thanks. More to come
❤️❤️❤️
Us or them?? :)
Both! But particularly that song
You are have to put a challenge out, like how many of you are Australians and how many are not? If this band were from your country, would you be a fan? Just asking.
if you doing cold chisel do four walls and bal a versaille. thank me later.
The scarfe has to be Arabic to be a true fashion item.
Check out the cover of Blonde on Blonde....lol
Dam.... But true
Ya know as an Aussie I'm only appreciating the chisel the older I get. Shame to say, in the day I wasn't really a fan. My confession!
Me too ... I am ashamed. But making up for lost time, they were fantastic. In my defence, there was a crowded field to choose from at the time!
Lol... "They both end in Elle". Could have called her F*cken Elle by that logic!!!
Ha ha. Love it
CHRISTMAS you say....I hope John Farnhams You'll Never Walk Alone or Mary's Boy Child, or Silent Night with Little River Band are in the Mix. All three performances from. 2 different Carols By Candle Light ...Oh Damn it ...chuck Amazing Grace in there as well
And Blue Christmas from Jimmy
Reformed in 98
