Dr Qadhi's passion and commitment to the deen and teaching us is so commendable and infectious. I don't know how some people could even doubt him and spoil his name. May Allah forgive all your sins, Dr Yassir Qadhi and grant you all that is good for you in this world and in the akheera. 🤲🏽

I made a dua to Allah SWT to help me understand the love I see/feel from scholars for Prophet Muhammad SAW, and this Seerah series landed in my feed. SubhanAllah Allah SWT answered my dua, Alhamdulillah. I have cried so many times while listening to the episodes. And this particular episode...now I know what that love feels like, and am just getting started on learning in shaa Allah. May Allah accept these efforts from Sheikh Yasir and his team and reward them with saddaqha jaariya. May Allah Azzawajal reward all of us that listened to the Seerah and increase us in iman. Ameen.

sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot my login password. I love any tips you can give me.
I listened to the whole episodes and it’s amazing to learn about the humble and miraculous life of our beloved prophet Muhammad(SAW).What an exemplary figure to love and follow.May Allah steer our heart and Imaan towards the righteous paths he led.
May Allah grant you the neighbourhood of the Prophet peace be upon him for this amazing seerah series. May Allah reward your family with the same blessings, may Allah give you a chance to read a naat in front of the Prophet peace be upon him in Paradise, ameen. Amazing job Sheikh sahib, I loved every bit, uff but this last episode, this last chapter is always, forever heavy on the heart.
Am one year old in Islamic religion. I love to hear such wonderful stories about our prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and more preachings are highly appreciated by Dawah team. Bravo Dr Yasir.
I admire the passion of Dr Yair Qadhi and putting so much efforts to compile such as comprehensive Seerah of the blessed Prophet Mohammad in English language. May Allah guide other jealous scholars who constantly attack pure scholarship such as Yair Qadhi and Omar Suleiman.
FEW POINTS I HAVE GATHERED FROM THIS EPISODE: o The house of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was the size of a standard living room o One opinion is that the prophet’s house sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was conjoined with the Masjid, another opinion is that there was a small alleyway in between. o Death of ‘Umar (killed by abu lu’lu’ al majoosi); ‘He sends his son, Abdullah to Aaisha to ask permission to be buried near the prophet and abu bakr. He says, “say that my father, and not ameer-ul-mu’mineen is requesting and if she says no, or hesitates then leave and don’t argue.” Aaisha replied: “I wanted to have this grave for myself and I would never have given it to anybody, except ‘Umar.” Because Umar is non-mahram, Aaisha puts a curtain out of respect. For 12 years, she lives in a small area of the house with her husband sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, her father and close companion. o Uthman passed away in a distant place, not in Baqi’. ‘Ali died in Kuffa. Aasiha requested to be buried near her co-wives (maybe due to Umar, maybe she thought it appropriate to be with wives). Therefore, there is one place left in the area where ‘Aaisha lived. o There are weak narrations that say the last area is for ‘Eesa ibn Maryam but not authentic o Al Waleed ibn Abdul Malik (ruled from 88-91 hijra) was the first person to expand the Masjid of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, destroying the houses of all the wives, except Aaisha’s (As this was where the graves were). The logical reason for this was to keep his throne from ‘Ali zayn ‘aabideen who was popular amongst the people for the throne. o ‘Ali zayn ‘aabideen was the inheritor of the house of the prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam o There were no sahabi in Medinah at 90 Hijrah to argue with al waleed/Last sahabi died in 120 Hijrah o The soon-to-be Caliphate, Umar ibn Abdul Azeez, governor at medinah at the time, took part in the demolition of the hujuraat. At this time, he was not a pious Muslim rather a regular prince. o The wall was made of the same brick as ka’bah. o When they went to build a wall around the grave, they see 2 feet protruding and got scared it was the Prophet’s sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. They called the scholars at the time and one, Abdullah ibn Abdullah ibn Umar said “do not worry it is the feet of our grandfather, Umar” o Another wall built around was a pentagonal structure because: they didn’t want people to pray towards the qabr, they didn’t want new muslims to think there was another ka’bah in medinah as it looked exactly the same just smaller as the one in Makkah o First attempt to smuggle the body of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was by Al-Haakim Bi Amrillah, we can understand from his life that he quite literally had a screw-loose. He attempted multiple times to bring it to Cairo to increase his prestige and failed each time. o 654 Hijra, one of the lamp keepers went inside to oil one of the lamps inside the masjid and he had an accident. The oil lit up and caught fire on a curtain and it spread throughout the Masjid causing the whole masjid to burn and the roof fell on the structure of ‘Umar ibn Abdul Azeez (Known as the Great Fire and there were 2 of these). This fire also burnt the original Mushaf of Uthman. o They send a letter to the Khalifah in Baghdad to ask what to do but at this time was the Mongol invasion which would cause the fall of Baghdad in one year. As a result, there was no reply and so the people just left it. o “Biggest tragedy, politically, the ummah has ever seen is the rape of Baghdad.” (Yasir Qadhi) o Zaahir baybaras stops the Mongols at the battle of Ainjaloot and becomes in charge. He builds a large square around the house of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in 678 hijrah, which is the square we see today and built first dome on top o Until 2nd great fire in 886 hijrah (1481 ce). When the muaddhin goes to give the adhan on a stormy night, lightning strikes on the minaret, which comes crashing down killing the muadhin and a fire starts on the roof of the masjid which ends up destroying everything. o Mamlook Sultan Qaytbay ordered complete rebuild of masjid. He orders to clean the mess from the 1st fire 200 years ago which hasn’t been touched. The greatest scholar of live was chosen to do this; Am-Samkhoodi o Went to the very inside of the qabr to check that the umar ibn abdul azeez was not damaged, he cleans the roof and everything around. He finds an entering to go inside the actual qabr of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. He is the first person in 500 years and the last person in 600 years. o He describes: “As I enter the blessed room from the back, and I did not go any further, I detected a fragrance the likes of which I had never smelt before. I stood there as long as I could, giving salaam to the best of all prophets, and then to the best of his two companions, and I made as many duaa’s as I could. I saw that the room was flat now, so no longer can the graves be seen. I felt the sand on the ground and it was moist as if it was fresh and it was gravel. The wooden square built by zahir baybaras was converted into a metallic structure. This exact structure built in 886 hijrah is what we see today as the green lattice and converted wooden dome into a cement one. o Bukhari: Al qaasim ibn Muhammad ibn abu bakr visited aaisha (her nephew) and he asked to see the qabr of the prophet. She lifted the curtain and he said he saw 3 graves that were not raised nor flat with reddish gravel on them. o Sultan Mahmood 1253 hijrah was for very first time painted green. o The mother of Haroon Ar-Rashid was the first person to gift embroidery/silk as a curtain to be put around the walls of the qabr similar to the ka’bah.
Alhamdulillah. Jazakallahu feekum. Tabarakallahu feekum. May Allaah grant you Jana'atul Firdousi, May Allaah forgives your sins, May Allaah guide, protect, bless you and your family. May Allaah continue to strenghten you emaan, and May Allaah grant you a peaceful and good ending to your soul. May Allaah ease your affairs and May Allaah's Rahma be upon you(Aameen Ya Rabb)

Imam Muslim reports in his Sahīh (no. 1370) from `Alī Ibn Abī Tālib (radiyallāhu `anhu) that Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: “Madīnah is sacred and Whatever is between its two lava plains is a sanctuary.” Al-Bukhārī (no. 1871) and Muslim (no. 1382) report that Abu Hurairah (radiyallāhu `anhu) said that the Prophet (ﷺ) stated:“I have been commanded to go to a town which supersedes all other towns. They say: ‘It is [called] Yathrib’ but is Madīnah. It purifies the people just as the bellows eliminate the impurities of iron.”

The Grave and Masjid of the Prophet SAW - Expansions to Masjid Nabawi in Early Islamic History Umar RA was the first to expand the Masjid by solidifying the roof of each, of the wives RA homes. Al Walid I in 90 AH, expanded the Masjid in all 4 directions, which incorporated the grave of the Prophet SAW and the houses of the Wives RA, into it. Al Walid I was the first and only person to ever increase the Masjid, on the side where the grave of the Prophet SAW is located. There are two theories as to why he did this, the first is that he did it because he was a pompous king and thus wanted to do something to mark his legacy. The second theory is that he feared the Ahle Bayt taking his throne and thus he had the houses demolished in order to remove any chance of this. The reason for this fear was because Zain Al Abidin RA, would preach to the Muslims from the house of Aisha RA, hence why Al Walid may have been worried. The scholars of Medina at the time (notably Said Ibn Al Musayyib RA) objected to Al Walid I doing this, because they wanted the houses of the Wives RA to remain untouched. So, that they can serve as an example to future generations of Muslims, as to just how humbly the Prophet SAW lived. Al Walid I just ignored them and demolished the houses anyways. Except for Aisha RA’s. There are two theories on what happened to Aisha RA’s house. Either Al Walid I ordered the walls of the house to be demolished and a new structure that is better reinforced be built or he didn’t touch the house walls at all but, instead built a structure around it. Regardless of the theory, Al Walid built a structure around the 3 graves. The structure consisted of 4 black walls that had no door. Al Walid I then built another pentagonal structure around this, to prevent people from worshipping the graves. Attempts to Steal the Body of the Prophet SAW There were 3 notable attempts to steal the body of the Prophet SAW throughout history: 1. Al Hakim the Caliph of the Fatimid Caliphate, sent people on TWO separate occasions, to steal the Prophet SAW’s body in order to give prestige to Cairo. Al Hakim is known by the title of the “Mad Caliph” because he was insane and a tyrant. 2. Another attempt was by two Christian spies during the time of Nur Al Din. They attempted to dig a tunnel from a house under Medina, to the tomb and then steal the body. But, Nur Al Din found out via a dream and had them executed. He then built a moat around the tomb filled with copper lead. This event however, is completely false and likely didn’t take place at all. The earliest records of this are 200 years after the event. - The Two Great Fires of Masjid Al Nabawi There were two fires that happened which burnt down the entire Masjid. 1. The first was in 645, when one of the lamp keepers of the masjid dropped the lamp which, caught fire and burnt the entire masjid down. The house of Aisha RA remained intact due to the pentagonal structure built by Al Walid I. The masjid wasn’t rebuilt immediately due to the Mongol Invasion. But eventually, Sultan Al Zahir Baybars rebuilt the Masjid. A few decades later, a dome was put above the tomb. 2. The second was in 886 AH, when lightning struck one of the Minarets, causing it to collapse and killing the Mu’addhin who was giving azan of Isha at the time. This strike caused a fire that led to the Masjid being burned down again. The whole Masjid was rebuilt by Sultan Qaitbay. However unlike in the previous fire, Sultan Qaitbay chose Ali Ibn Ahmad Al Samhudi RH(a great scholar of the time), to enter the inner chamber of the Prophet SAW, to clean and ensure everything is okay. Ali Ibn Ahmad Al Samhudi RH details his experience in the inner chamber: He claimed to have smelled a beautiful fragrance there and he gave Salaam to the Prophet SAW and then to his companions. He did as much Dua as he could. He also stated that, the ground was now flat, apart from Umar RAs grave and that, the sand in the chamber was moist. After these two fires, throughout history the outer chambers were reinforced and the dome colour was changed many times. Fun Trivia fact: Some of the Rawdah with within the outer chamber of the Prophet SAWs tomb due to the expansions by Qaitbay. Fun Trivia fact: During Al Walid I’s renovation of the Masjid Nabawi. They saw feet sticking out in the room of Aisha RA. The feet were perfectly preserved and belonged to Umar RA. They covered the feet and then renovated the room. Fun Trivia fact: Uthman RA’s Mus’haf was destroyed in 1st great fire of Masjid Al Nabawi. Fun Trivia fact: Ali Ibn Ahmad Al Samhudi RH was the last person to ever enter inner chamber of the Prophet SAW. Fun Trivia fact: The Green dome colour only goes back 200 years. Fun Trivia fact: The Green lattices in the Masjid Nabawi go back 800 years. These are the ones from where you give Salaam to the Prophet SAW, Abu Bakr RA and Umar RA. Fun Trivia fact: The grave of the Prophet SAW is protected by 3 or 4 walls. There is an outer chamber which surrounds the tomb, that was built by Sultan Qaitbay, this has a Kiswah around it. Then there is the pentagon structure built by Al Walid I which, also surrounds the tomb. Then there is another black Ka’ba looking structure that, was also built by Al Walid I. Then there is either no other wall because Al Walid I replaced it with the aforementioned black structure OR there is the original wall of the house of Aisha RA. Beyond this you have the 3 graves.
Assalwalaykum, Brother Yasir Qadhi, I have reveced immance knowledge from your all lectures, Allahmduallah and through your lacters I have improved my knowledge, do let me know how can learn more about our islam
From the virtues of Madīnah is the supplication of the Prophet (ﷺ) for it to be blessed. Muslim reports (no. 1374) from Abu Sa`īd al-Khudrī that Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: “O Allāh, bless us in our Madīnah. By the One in whose Hand is my soul, there is no mountain pass nor road around Madīnah but there are two Angels standing guard over it until you return back to it.” In the Prophet’s Masjid there is the honourable Garden (Ar-Rawdah). Bukhārī (no. 1196) and Muslim (no. 1391) report from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whatever is between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the Gardens of Paradise.”
jazakumullah khairan for this very beneficial video. Can anyone please tell me where I can find more information about the architect who designed this estimation of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallams home ?
Please could Dr Qadhi choose sevreal topics of seerah to go into greater details.. I followed the seerah very avidly and I always play the CDs of your seerah talk, so much so thatit feels like an end of an era that the seerah series finally stops
Wa alaikum as salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh akhi. In my humble opinion, I think it would be better if you were the one to create a transcript by listening to this video instead of using someone else's one. Also, it will help you remember the details more as you have to pay close attention and write down what is being said :) Wallahu A'lam
I think you're referring to entering the grave? Allahu a'lam but maybe because nobody deserves to go inside and in this day, it would cause a lot of politics for who should enter
In the past people have been known to commit shirk by asking the dead for help. Perhaps it was because of that. The Prophet PBUH said to not turn his grave into a place of worship (I can't remember the exact hadith)
ماشاالله تبارک الله but sheikh Yasir the square that we see today around the house of rasulallah saw in masjid nabawi is built by baibars around 1270 something right? .... this part was a little confusing !!!
jazakallah for this information... any1 here can u plz ddescribe from the figure how ladies section see ths ... evry time i went there ts confusing.. plzzzzz describe
Mashallah for this but I do find it confusing how can there be a grave in the prophet (peace be upon him)'s mosque when the prophet (peace be upon him) said may the Jews & Christians be cursed for building places of worship in graves? I know originally his grave wasn't in the masjid but next to it I hope someone can clarfy this to me jazakallah khair
سلام عليكم..جزاك الله خيرا.. Thoughs #♡.. After our Messenger ☆Peace be upon him ☆Abu Bakr ☆Ra☆& Omar ibn Khattab ☆Ra☆buried it must have been so small..

These are Salafi goons who attack @ Shiekh Yasir Qadhi bcoz he doesn't support salafi aqeedah
I always say the same thing…as if he’s not a human being and cannot make mistakes….those folks should think about their own sins and what they can do for the ummah and leave our sheikh alone….
They envy him😊

Imam Muslim reports in his Sahīh (no. 1370) from `Alī Ibn Abī Tālib (radiyallāhu `anhu) that Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:
“Madīnah is sacred and Whatever is between its two lava plains is a sanctuary.”
Al-Bukhārī (no.
May Allah SWT reward you Jannahtul Firdaws

Seerah Episode 102 Notes:
The Grave and Masjid of the Prophet SAW
- Expansions to Masjid Nabawi in Early Islamic History
Umar RA was the first to expand the Masjid by solidifying the roof of each, of the wives RA homes.
Attempts to Steal the Body of the Prophet SAW
There were 3 notable attempts to steal the body of the Prophet SAW throughout history:
- The Two Great Fires of Masjid Al Nabawi
There were two fires that happened which burnt down the entire Masjid.
Ali Ibn Ahmad Al Samhudi RH details his experience in the inner chamber:
He claimed to have smelled a beautiful fragrance there and he gave Salaam to the Prophet SAW and then to his companions.
Very rich in content.
Jazaakumullahu khair

MashaAllah
Kesuwun mang.
From the virtues of Madīnah is the supplication of the Prophet (ﷺ) for it to be blessed. Muslim reports (no. 1374) from Abu Sa`īd al-Khudrī that Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:
“O Allāh, bless us in our Madīnah. By the One in whose Hand is my soul, there is no mountain pass nor road around Madīnah but there are two Angels standing guard over it until you return back to it.”
In the Prophet’s Masjid there is the honourable Garden (Ar-Rawdah). Bukhārī (no. 1196) and Muslim (no. 1391) report from Abu Hurairah
that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Whatever is between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the Gardens of Paradise.”
Does anybody have the link of the 3D video which Dr. Qadhi is using in this episode? JazakAllahu Khairan
🇧🇩🇵🇸☝️
Mashallah, could we also hear the questions at the end. The questions are not very clear.
jazakumullah khairan for this very beneficial video.
Can anyone please tell me where I can find more information about the architect who designed this estimation of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallams home ?
🙏🙏🙏
Please could Dr Qadhi choose sevreal topics of seerah to go into greater details.. I followed the seerah very avidly and I always play the CDs of your seerah talk, so much so thatit feels like an end of an era that the seerah series finally stops
Where are the outer graves as Sheik had said. Please could anybody clarify.
Masha Allah this was mind-blowingly informative.
Can any one share those diagrams? or where can I get them.
Barak Allah feek
As-salamu-alaikum where can I get the transcript of this lecture? If someone find the transcript, please share the link. May Allah reward you sheikh.
Wa alaikum as salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh akhi. In my humble opinion, I think it would be better if you were the one to create a transcript by listening to this video instead of using someone else's one. Also, it will help you remember the details more as you have to pay close attention and write down what is being said :)
Wallahu A'lam
@@TheDandyLion no
I really wanted to know why the sheikh said "Nobody should go inside"
Who is baibars ?
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
jazakallah for this information...
any1 here can u plz ddescribe from the figure how ladies section see ths ...
evry time i went there ts confusing.. plzzzzz describe
👍
Mashallah for this but I do find it confusing how can there be a grave in the prophet (peace be upon him)'s mosque when the prophet (peace be upon him) said may the Jews & Christians be cursed for building places of worship in graves? I know originally his grave wasn't in the masjid but next to it I hope someone can clarfy this to me jazakallah khair
His house where he died and buried used to be near the mosque but the mosque continued to expand and engulf the mosque
At 1:25:40 stated from Russian, this not true, Sultan Beibarys from Kazakhstan, now in Atyrau city. Please see in google.
