I'm amused of thinking about "timetravelling" with a copy of this back in 1983.
Would a Commodore-engineer even believe that this is coded and running on "his" hardware... :-)
Definitely one of the best C64 demos ever (in one league with "Edge of disgrace" / Booze Design)
was thinking along the same lines. if my teenage brain had seen this, i would have thought that magicians had taken over my trusty 64.
5:43 The Offence, Fairlight and Noice rasterbar part is so awesome and cool!
I love that people still do demos for the C64. Every time my parents or friends ask me why I hoard old stuff I show them one of these. I have the C64 and A500 and I love both.
i know im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any tips you can give me
@Otto Casen instablaster =)
@Miles Clark Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Miles Clark it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass !
@Otto Casen glad I could help :)
The old c64 just keeps giving...absolutely amazing stuff.
Those end credits are so well done. Shows what the C64 was really capable of.

@@jasperd.5734 and will be
and i love the sychronisation thats still ahead of PCs of today!
Struggling to believe the music in the second part is even a SID. Absolutely amazing work.
yeah I thought the same, it doesn't sound like a SID at all, it sounds like a small 90's era synth/cubase setup. You could play this track at a modern techno/rave party and get away with it! ;)
I think the drums (the bass drum at least) are PCM samples and the rest are the SID voices/instruments programmed to sound more modern, instead of typical SID like synth sounds we're all accustomed with in C64 games...
What's so amazing to me about it is that is sounds better than the 16-bit Atari computers and on the same level as an Amiga (but higher audio quality as the SID synth voices are pure oscillator generated, they aren't low kilohertz samples as used in Amiga music / mods etc...)
Imagine playing this demo on a C64 demo unit in a store back in the 80's :) The machines would have sold like hotdogs :)
Thats the power of digi on c64
@@HPPalmtopTube im sure the song is only pcm and No regular c64 channels
They listed 1541 Ultimate II as additional hardware, which have 7 pcm channels in 16-bit quality, so maybe they played just sampled song here
Love the nod to 8088MPH at the start! :D
yup
SID at min. 4'27 explodes....totally awesone......Congrats....one of the best ever I listen
this demo never ceases to amaze me
It's 2020. Such fluent animation is still a challenge on PC ;) I love the speed impression and transitions between the parts. It's ONLY 60FPS, but the most perfectly synchronized 60FPS.
PAL, so 50FPS :)
I liked the little nod to 8088MPH in the intro :)
Very nice demo!
the music in this demo is outstanding. really fits the demo being nice and upbeat. it gives the sense of speed throughout
The Music. The MUSIC! THE MUSIC!!!!!!!! Awesome!
awesome to see how technology stays the same 30 + years on and you guys find more ways to push the known limits of the c64!!!
I REALLY LOVE MY C64 ❤❤❤❤ FOREVER ❤❤❤❤❤
very nice!!!! C64 was my First Computer
same, every morning I drink from a C64 mug, so wife knows it now as well. And I already showed my kids some C64 games I used to play back in the day
Loved it! That coloured twisty thing at the start is off the scale!
Best demo I've ever heard! I'd love to hear longer version of some tracks for sure!
A nice demo, it's no match to 8088MPH because of the sheer technical tomfuckery needed to do something so amazing with such simple technology.
This one rulez the world❤❤❤ 64ever baby
More creativity than 6502 Jack Tramiels combined!
Totally amazing Sid tunes
damn.. the evolution is unstoppable.. :) regards, Alex..
8:17 !!!! awesome!!!!!
Amazing work to get this much out of the humble C-64.
I❤️C64. This demo is among the best out there. Mind boggling SID usage, amazing graphics. Loving it even in 2020.
Breadbins 64ever!
Is all of the music REALLY from the humble SID?? Mind-fuckin-blowing!! 😮 the graphics and music on this has to be the best I’ve seen and heard yet!! Wouldn’t be out of place on current gen computers! You guys are awesome and the C64 is legendary!! 🙌
If you move your cursor over the video timeline to the right from 10:40 to 12:40 you'll get a cool effect with the preview as it scrolls in the opposite direction that you move your mouse in approx. the same speed :)
+psppwng Haha Cool :D
+psppwng What a slide effect! :-)
Love it!
found it also by previewing :)
So nice to see a great all round C64 demo again :)
The Beautiful 64. Like no other machine ever came close. The Last of its kind.
Great work. Well designed. Grats
Incredible and mature demo. Magnificent in its execution.
Masterpiece!
4:37 blew my mind. On an Amiga could see. But sans playfields or full-screen-height sprites...how'd you do it? Same question for the end credits.
Such a masterpiece in 2016. and MAHONEY SENPAI I LUV TA
Fairlight rules! Offence rules! Noice rules! Mahoney rules!
C64 rules!
You rulez!
that is absolutely incredible! wringing every ounce out of SID and VIC II well done guys
This is o fuckin; unreal :))) With every second i was smiling more, and more...damn!
Sid rocks forever
Fantastic!
Kind of ironic that this video's URL ends with 'Dos'.
huh what? how should it end? Perhaps you didn't know but DOS is an acronym for Disk Operating System, IDEDOS has nothing to do with the PC.
@@lemmingoffence64 yeah but the URL ends with DOS although this is a c64 demo :D
@@goeuldi en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodore_DOS
Guys, I know Commodore DOS is a thing. But if we hear DOS today, we rather think of MS-DOS & I thought this was funny.
Very cool demo! Shared to my friends! :)
You have my respect. Very nice piece.
3:28 - Samir och Viktor - Success. :)
So smooth
Demoscene: "ok this is the plan:"
Amazing Intro w/ sick music -> random text that has mothing to do with the demo -> ACID -> 4r7 -> and credits
"GOOD!!!"
the ultimate 80s experience!!!!
Fantastic too.
Ultra Good demo.
I love it :p
Damn! that tune at the start, IBM can go suck it, Commodore all the way... Love it when it kicks in around 2:23, then that sexy melody from 3:00... Well done...
Shout out to all who created the demo,
My best, your homie.... Zro Dfects
I love that tune at 3:00, too! I believe it is the loader theme for Comic Bakery by Martin Galway!
Martin is a legend, I have his C64 music CD's... I have no time for justin beiber lol
Can't wrap my head around how the end part is achieved. If the left/right scroll is a character mode scroll, how the hell do they get the raster time to scroll all of that with even slower movements than 4 pixels per frame. They have to scroll the color ram as well. Even if they double or triple buffer its just unbelievable. Then on top of all that the white vertical scroller, I can't even imagine what that is. Multiplexed Sprites? If so, how the hell do they get the time left to scroll THAT? AND music with complex drum sounds in it.
Its just mind boggling. I can hardly think this is using VSP.
That music itself is enough to show whos the boss! Hope theres someone done an "why you should be wobdering how difficult this making is" - video, how you do easy single like in Computer lanquage, and how "easy' it is to make it do something along with other drawed lines.. Like a tutorial
Very nice! Good job!
When the computing is really a computing, not a human sense language (especially OOP)
Awesome! Thanks.
Rhis one should come with an epilepsy warning
Kto od Archona? :D
Verdammt geile demo
Damn! Lovin it!!
wow it's beautiful
perfect!
Awesome Demo!
Great demo
Awesome!
That was amazing
Great stuff! xD
C64 rulezzz'
2:56
How does a SID even generate this music???!!!!
second tune si clearly based on the Ping Pong Circulate song
good music
I'm guessing this is meant for an 8580 since my breadbin really struggles with some of the audio, particularly the drums. I'll have to try on my 64C later
So good :)
Magfest 2020 where you at?
woow
3.20 best
HAMMER TEIL!
Yes! C64 forever.... I once said you need a 64GB memory PC to make a C64 look good, sadly I was kinda wrong, this looks F'in' good streemed on a 16GB Ipad with even less memory, but I still think it holds some truth?
ilovit
does any one know why it doesn´t run on my real c64 and my c64 mini? . I run 00.prg from disk but i got brown border or paper (even by load "*",8,1 on real c64).
Solved by removing Final Cartridge and Sd2iec. I copied onto a real 5 1/4 disk. On c64mini solved by adding _AD at the end of disk name.
give me file for download. i do not believe.
Is the song copyrighted
Step 6 = monetize
Steps 1-5 deleted........
C64 SUCKS. TWO WORDS.
8088 MPH.
1000 COLORS,CGA,SPRITES
COMMODORE,EAT YOUR HEART OUT.
Shhh ibm fan boy
While 8088MPH is a very good Demo it gets most of its benefit from a faster CPU and more amounts of RAM. If the C64 had those two things there would likely be no difference, But the fact that the C64 can still pull off these feats with much less RAM and a much slower CPU is why the C64 is pretty damn awesome
It rocks!!!
Amazing!
