I'm a girl and I play video games all the time and I have to say, games like LOL don't really catch my attention. I watch my cousin play the game all the time but with the long 40 min matches and with how the gameplay mechanics work, I never made it past the tutorial. It just didn't look intense. Now what games do catch my attention? I do play lots of fps like PUBG, Paladins, Splatoon(that one nintendo game and the one I played the most). And I like the quick mini game modes alot. They're fast, full of intensity, and much more interesting. And my interests align with many other casual girl players. The games girls get shit for have this one pattern. They're either dominated by guys or the girl playing is just shit at the game. Let's take Overwatch and PUBG. Two different but similar games. Girls get shit in Overwatch bc not many girls play Overwatch compared to the guys playing the games. It's obviously gonna be harder to find a good player that's a girl so it's understandable that girls get shit. But with PUBG, the gender ratio is pretty even. There are players who hit the too 10 ranks across servers that happen to be girls. So people don't shit you for being a girl but rather a bad player. I want to see more girls who play seriously without trying to do the ethot thing. They could dress however they want but they don't have to show their tits everytime they play to earn more coin. I know alot of Korean streamers that don't show their faces and focus more on the commentary and gameplay. And alot are girls. If people are gonna be like "I get shit in a game bc Im a girl." then don't fuckin play like a girl. Or play something else. Everyone has things they get shit talked about when they play games whether it's their tone of voice, the way they talk, their ethnicity, etc. etc. Some girls happen to get shit talked because they're female. It can be if you wheeze a little, high voice, low voice, getting a little emotional, aiming bad, aiming too good, having a slow computer, sounding weird, sounding fat, sounding like a virgin, being new, being too old, being too young, being slow, mouse sensitivity, profile picture, ping and yea being a girl. Tbh i hardly ever use my mic anymore for pretty much the same reason. As soon as i start talking in game, 70% of the time some guy(s) will start trying to hit on me or id be getting a bunch of friend requests and/or creepy messages and shit. It really is annoying so unless im with a group of friends, i dont even use mic. But at the same time it doesn't stop from playing Xbox 😉
