Bob Kaufman, the founder of Bob's Discount Furniture, shares his unique approach to becoming an industry disruptor before that concept was cool.
Kaufman became an industry disruptor after what turned out to be a happy motorcycle accident. His doctor recommended that he get a waterbed, so he set out to the furniture stores and was bombarded with shady pricing and gimmicks. Eventually, he couldn’t take it anymore and went on to found Bob’s Discount Furniture, providing customers with everyday low prices, gimmick-free.

Headquartered in Manchester, Connecticut, Bob's has been in business for over 26 years and has long-standing relationships with numerous manufacturers to provide stylish pieces so you can furnish your living room, dining room, bedroom, and entire home with the look you want for less.
While customers are shopping they can enjoy the on the house Bob’s Cafe that has ice cream, sweet treats and gourmet coffee. In the Cafe of each store is also a life-size statue of Little Bob that collects donations from customers. Each quarter, Bob’s matches the thousands of dollars collected and gives it directly to a chosen non-profit. This year, Bob’s selected the Special Olympics, Autism Speaks, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, and Pajama Program to be the recipients of the Cafe Collection donations. Through the Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation and Bob’s Outreach, the company also supports their communities by providing $2.75 million yearly to hundreds of nonprofits.
