Allertor 125 siren test in Eden Prairie, MN

- This siren is located at an intersection and is also very, very close to some houses. I would not like to live here. Of all of the sirens I've seen, some of them are ridiculously close to houses and it drives me crazy because of the fact that the people who happen to be living in the houses have to hear this every first Wednesday at 1:00.
This was definitely one of the videos that sparked siren interests for me back in 2008/2009.
Same.
I got interestd in 2019
I got intrested in 2021
That has to be the most beautiful and loudest sound I’ve ever heard in my life. And it drives me insane to hear that loud noise especially when you’re outside and that siren goes off. But despite the very loud noise, it’s still a very beautiful sound.
I never seen a red Allertor ether. Man you got the best videos of Allertor sirens. Keep up the good recordings! :D
I wonder when it was recorded
This is a VERY healthy Allertor, both in sound and appearance. Kudos to the maintenance people!
Despite that it still got replaced, along with 4 other Allertors and 2 p15’s that Eden prairie also had
Yes!, finally one that rotates correctly, instead of backwards! Sounds and looks awesome too!👍😁😀😃❤🇺🇸❗
Actually, it is supposed to rotate the other way out of the factory .
I am a HUGE fan of tornado sirens, I treat them like brothers and sisters because they're not that bad
MarioMario0321 same with my mini ACA P-10, Allertor, and ACA hurricane
MarioMario0321 I agree
I mean I kinda like The sound but ears Feels like its bleeding after I'm done watching it ;-;
they will always be my thing.
Siblings, are bad...
Very beautiful sound especially when it’s being turned off at 1:05 and 2:58
thats a beautiful sounding allertor
aca, the manufacturer of the worlds largest and loudest toilet
Interesting how they sound like a semi-trailer using engine brake on wind-down!😀😃😀😃👍👍❗
trust me you would not like to go in that toilet
😁 hey! It's the siren that looks like a toilet! Haha! Anyway this one and P-50 sound almost alike. Their shapes are so unique. Nice vid😉
One: Stop making the "Oh it's a toilet!" joke that happens on a lot of Allertor videos. And Two: it barely sounds like a P-50 the only resemblance is it has a row of 12 ports on it.
@@ilwx 8/12 port allertors sound the same, but yeah, 9/12 allertors sound nothing like it... because it has a different port ratio...
@@chroma8708 yeah I know that comment is so old lmao 😂
Damn this is one spicy clean allertor.
Awsome! a red allertor?! never herd of one! you always get the best allertor videos
there was a blue one in Richfield, its gone now:(
@@minnesotaoutdoorwarningsirensyeah that was a big stand out! I miss it
I love both wind downs, they sound so cool, btw, The new 2001s have the old radios from the old ACA allertors
Why did Federal keep the old ACA Allertor Radios to power thier 2001-130s I thought you can't mix new and old equipment together and also would that be a conflict of interest between Federal and ASC by using it like that
Gary Hisgun idk
What happens to the radio if it gets stolen
The world's loudest toilet!
OMG, I was only 3 years old at this time! And my brother wasn't even born yet when this video uploaded! 😮
Try blasting that at 3am. We don't have siren outdoors in Lowdnes Co GA.
@doverpoint1 The bottom circle is the intake opening. The choppers are inside there spinning, drawing in air through the intake. the sound from the choppers comes out the top opening. There are 2 choppers, each producing a part of the tone, so it is a dual-toned siren. Each chopper has a certain amount of ports, or openings. The more ports, the higher the pitch. Allertors usually are 8 and 12 port choppers i believe.
Those sirens are monsters!
First time I've ever seen a red Allertor.
These were made back in the early 70’s
Looks like a toilet from a different angle
"because of the fact that the people who happen to be living in the houses have to hear this every first Wednesday"
Oh crying them a rivern of tears here, ONCE A MONTH a 2 minute long emergency siren is tested, WOW, BFD!!!! guaranteed the ones complaining would be the first screaming about how they got no warning when a tornado hit in the middle of the night if this was turned off and they'd be suing the city too
Is the 2001-130 that you recorded on September 9th 2016 the siren that replaced this?
WeatherRadiosAndSirens01 yes, preserve Blvd and Anderson lakes parkway
Savage Dude ok, i found it on google maps
F.B.I 911 OFFICIAL POLICE OFFICER ok
F.B.I 911 OFFICIAL POLICE OFFICER it is showing the new 2001-130
Nvm i was at the wrong place
Awesome
What road was this at?
ACA sirens use directional rotors, meaning they put out the most sound spinnig in a counterclockwise direction. Since the rotator is drive off the siren motor itself the siren spinning clockwise is a clear indication that the outer two legs of the three phase need to be swapped around.
It isn't a problem with the single phase ACA's, since they use center tap motors and will only run in one direction.
Used to have 2 of these in my area back in the late 70's early 80's... one in Lachine at Bishop Whelan High School and one behind the Dorval Theater in Dorval (Montreal suburbs)
This siren I’m guessing was replaced by a 2001.
I like that noise
I also live in MN so I have to deal with this monthly also. You'd think they would just reserve it for spring, summer, and fall.
In my opinion I think this is a cool siren :)
This is one of my top 5 favorite sirens
1. Thunderbolt
2. 1003
3. Allertor 125
4. Whelen
5. 2001
I like this type of model, it can sure give the willies with its loud scary electric shaver sound,, lol !!!
Yes, most siren buffs say the Allertor is by far the strangest looking siren ever made.
That is a very interesting siren. I have never seen a siren anything like that before. The one in the town I live in just sits directly on top of a power pole near the schools and looks kinda like a canister with an overhanging circular lid on top of it to keep rain out of it.
That my friend is a thunderbeam mechanical siren! Those are interesting and know for malfunctions
Love how Eden Prairie had all of their sirens painted red
This & the T-bolt 1000 are probably the best sound around.
I understand that one of the main reasons the 125 was discontinued was because of the high cost of fabricating the cones from fiberglass. Earliest ones were metal, I believe.
do they still make these allerter's?? these sound the best along with the siratone 1212 and federal signal 2001. sorry , im a siren freak :-)
sounds like a 9806
@Westy1962 Is this the one by eden lake school off anderson lakes and preserve blvd?
I think he’s screaming people
The fact that Eden Prairie MN invested in installing these along with the matching P-10s atop reinforced Steel Poles tells me that these were not going anywhere until total replacement later on down the road even better that Federal could of installed their 2001-130s ontop of these steel poles instead of swapping them out for Wooden Poles which are prone to Rot and Decay
That pile should me broken cause how heavy the siren is and the size LIKE ITS AS BIG AS A GARAGE LOL
@sunshine19967 im not sure what you mean....some electromechanical sirens make a small AC noise when they start up,more than likely caused by the motor's start up current.
I heard one of these go off for about 5 seconds
"Oh, no! A nuke! A nuke! I thought it was just a fluke!", cried Duke to Luke.
Cnw#8701 cool and good
Dude. That aint really that funny.
@@brandonburkest6229 That was 8 years ago. Why are you now replying to this?
@@Cnw8701 beacsue i can
@@brandonburkest6229 "Beacsue"? Who?
I think it’s the fire Mode
At 2:05
I am EXTREMELY afraid of these sirens
I like them as a hobby, but they are meant to make you afraid because if they go off when it's not test day, then it means that either a storm like a Tornado or Hurricane is coming, or else ISIS is invading
Jojo Miller I like sirens too! I plan on engineering sirens that activate when they detect disasters
Jojo Miller why
Jojo Miller why? they don't hurt you. they just warn people about tornado.
They sound scary
honestly out of all the tornado sirens ive heard i dont remember having a problem with the noise ! train horns are usually more of a nuisance than tornado horns !! i think it has something to do with the height of the tornado horns, the soundwaves are up above our heads compared to a train which is lower to the ground and usually alot closer to you !
The color is so clear
what do you think your oven runs off of?240 volts, same with your dryer.
240 volt outlets are everywere in the U.S.
I would want it near me.All it would take is for you to experience a tornado first hand and you would welcome being able to hear a warning loud and clear and MAYBE saving your life. Its worth a few seconds of testing Weekly. And Thank God they do test them. Some states do not bother to test.
Here in the NW burbs of Chicago, there is one here in Cary and another in Hoffman Estates. I can not hear well as it is but these, I always can hear. It would be shame that these get replaced with something that isn't as "punchy" and to the point. That sound is scary alone but for sure gets your attention.
The sirens still in use are mainly to alert of Severe Weather, such as tornado warnings, and incase of a nuclear meltdown at a nuclear power plant.
Rare Performance Plus version?
People that live near by tend to get use to it. After a while, you never notice it till its gone.
Yup!, just turn it 90° to face up, turn the horn 180°, and connect it to a septic tank. But dont flush while youre sittin' on it!, you might get sucked in! 🤣👍❗
That siren + Bass Cannon = awesomeness
that siren still scares me today.
@form109 that tornado siren, why does it do that when it starts
There is also one of these rare beautys in Niles, MI
Is it rotating the wrong way?
That's a noisy toilet.
Well Tabby26, that big tube thingy or tuba on top(lol) is considered to be a air intake just like the air scoop on top of muiscle car or hot rod to keep the motor cool. At first when I saw one like this here in California back when I was a kid I thought it was a double stacked air raid siren but later to learn that it isn't. I hope I helped!!
I live in Savage MN and I might have heard this.
Can I use this video?
Wouldn't people mistake this for power tools during the day?
Where all of the Allertors and Penetrator Sirens in Eden Prairie all painted red and installed on Steel Poles the Steel Poles were great in terms of longevity instead of Wooden Poles
All of the EP ACA sirens were red, idk why they did that, I’m now thinking EP will paint there 2001’s red, all of the EP sirens are still on steel poles
Good God that Thing Is Hugely Loud Great Video
I had a horrible mental image though it's impossible, but say it were: say a repair man was working on this thing, but the people forgot to turn it off and to make it worse, his ladder falls down, leaving him dangling on a siren with his head in the cone. And when he least expected it, it turns on full blast in his face and he can't get down...I'm scared now
these are my favorite
we had those in the back of schoolyards in montreal then around early 90s they started removing them. great sound.
There's one of these 60 ft. in back of a house in my neighborhood
these kind of sirens to me are too loud and they sound a little scary on the attack mode. back about 10 years ago we had a siren like this one in the video 1 street over from where I live and every month on monday at noon it would sound. even though we lived 1 block over from where the siren is it still was quite loud. I cant imagine if you lived a few feet from one of these sirens you would surely get deaf or close to being deaf. now in my town these sirens have been replaced with 2001s.
matt99nascar I smashed the like button because you said it sounds scary and it is NIGHTMARISHLY HORRIFYING!
Joelle Miller every siren video I watch you always say that it’s getting annoying
here in cincinnati we cant use allertors without transformers because we have 120 volts and the allertors need 240 volts.
@CrazyLilBiscwit it's the one on the bottom, the one on top is where the sound comes from
Why are all the sirens red in this city?
Evolution of siren hunters 1940s - 2021
This unit is no more, It has been replaced by a 2001-130
:(:(
supersiren25 Roblox wtf the siren isn't even sick
No more means not here anymore.
Eden Prairie upgraded they're system in 2012.
Trust me.... I live right by Eden so I know.
R.I.P Allertor
Why 2001?! Why?!
Its a leaf blower that works great and makes you look cool.
She replaced a aca codded p15 siren on caution for there is a allertor siren😢😢
Red nuclear bomb siren did alert then did attack?
On the siren archive, I saw a photo of a red allertor in Eden Prairie, which may have been this one, and a red P-20/RM-130.
@Lvfd416 Well how would the new 2001's consume any less electrical power than these?
You spin me right round, baby right round like record baby right round, round ,round.
@dockwellian45 actually ive only seen them in CD yellow? this is the first time ive seen red or any other color for that matter
Me too they're also very rare this guy is lucky
Why do you keep saying "same"?????????
Whoo
I was in Eden Prairie a couple of times. They have a great wood fire pizza joint there called Punch Pizza.
I wish it was still there
so you rather a siren you cant hear and just be killed by a tornado?
i was going to film this, but never got around to it, they have now been replaced by stinking 2001-130s
this sounds beautiful :3
yeah it does
It’s a BIG red toilet on a pole!
Someone has been watching too much BSP!
Gotta' love the Allertor 125.
I love em
the acoustics travel better along certain shapes. this is why trumpets have the shape they do and even clarions.
You can see one of these in Englewood, CO. Just south of Denver.
