I am a 2 time combat vet and I prospected. I didnt do it cause I had anything to prove as far as my manhood but because it was required to be a member. I had a blast as a prospect.
When I joined CVMA I asked if there was a hang around and/or prospecting to be done. The answer was basically "we don't do that, you did your 'prospecting' in country".
I’ve just starting talking to CVMA this past week. And I like their way of thinking. I’m 34 and wouldn’t wish what I’ve seen and done in the Usmc on anyone. Especially as a riding club. I just wanna ride with family. I’ve got a wife and family now and I’m blessed to have what I have.
CVMA isn't a MC, if you want to be in a MC than you need to follow their rules and heritage. Prospecting is a time to get to know you and trust you and see if you can be trusted and honorable, will you be a fit in their club. I have a lot of respect for those guys, just like when any service man or woman went to their first unit and first squad. You have to be trusted and welcomed.
I am and combat infantry veteran with a purple 💜 for being blown up. However I would expect that I have to prospect, its all part of the Process. That dude was most likely a POG
I am an old timer and still enjoy watching your videos. The biggest mistakes I've ever made with our mm was pushing people forward too quick. A proper prospecting period is invaluable.
I am a combat Vet, DAV member, Chaplin for my local VFW where I am a Lifetime Member. When I decided to ride with a crew I prospected and earned my colors just like everybody else.
I have been asked many times to join a MC. I have been riding for 35 years and have deployed 3 times. No one gets to treat me like shit or like I am not there equal. I will not wash someone elses ride or anything else, if you want to ride with me cool, if not thats cool too.
Love the perspective about the truckers, linemen, and everyone who helps keep the world moving. A lot of times we forget to be grateful for them all. You got me wanting to prospect again.
I am 62 and I have been riding since I was 8, never joined a M/C but have always been interested in M/C lifestyle and I really enjoy your channel, keep up the good work.
As a 47 month combat vet, I’d have to agree that we prospect in combat. You have to prove combat to be a full member with voting rights. Anyone of my brothers and sisters who seen combat for our country is the most trustworthy person I know.
Blackdragon, thanks for the insight. I've actually been checking for this vid since you said you were going to drop it. Just to clarify, in case you took me out of context. I was by no means speaking down on anyone or trying to lift myself above anyone, reading my comment I can see how I probably sounded that way. I understand that earning a patch is important because it gives it value. You explaining it makes sense, that everyone's experiences and background is different and everyone needs to learn about the club they are joining. Just so you know, it is my goal to join an MC, and earn my patch, I'm going to meet with a vet based MC on Saturday actually.
It did not take it as you were trying to think you were better than anyone. I answer each question from the point of view that the asker and the viewers may not truly know the answer and an intelligent response can educate whereas a pessimistic answer can send folks away and shut them down. I wanted to explain the process and what it means and why it is important - so that you could have all the information you needed in your tool box as you move forward in finding an MC family. I think a vet based MC may be exactly what you need. Keep me informed and let me know how it goes. Best of luck and thank you so much for protecting our freedoms on the battlfield with your life and the lives of your brothers on the line. Black Dragon Lifer BSFFBS
As a Navy Veteran, I still had to prospect and wouldn't have it no other way. Yes I have seen things and yes I made brothers with guys who still to this day have my 6. But in order for me to get the MC respect from my MC brothers and MC scene, I have to prospect. It's shows how committed I am to the MC scene. I thank all the vets for their time, service and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. But in order for me to get respect from the MC scene I as well as everyone else should prospect. Besides I really don't think it will be difficult for someone who has been through many of the terrible stuff some vets have been through to prospect. Just saying. Thank you and much respect.
I did 4 separate tours in 4 separate locations. I earned mine and when I was asked to join a club I asked about prospecting. They said I did my time as a combat soldier so there was no need for me to prospect. I accepted my patches and 5 years later I still don't feel right in the club. I don't have that connection I should have. I'm pretty certain it is because I did NOT prospect. The comradory and cohesion just isn't there. I find myself frustrated because they (those who never served) just don't get what Brotherhood means... and I cant seem to connect because there was no time to develop the bonds acquired from prospecting. I regret not prospecting and I highly recommend prospecting no matter what!
Same here Keyboard. After one year with that organization that does not require prospecting, I’m about to leave as well to join an actual Veterans MC because I feel these individuals treat you differently like their expected to treat a fellow brother instead of the BS that goes on in that other organization I’m leaving.
Anyone that thinks they are above the process should be made to prospect extra...the MC isn’t some government program that you’re building up credit for the whole time you serve in the armed forces.. You came to us....if you want into this brotherhood you gotta go through the exact same program everyone else did.. Could you imagine if someone has been prospecting for months, taking the time to learn the history of the club and learn club protocol standing behind the bar one night having to watch some guy that knows absolutely nothing about the club walk in and get patched in on the spot?! ...that’s not brotherhood...that’s something else...I ain’t with that party.. Don’t get me wrong. I believe society owes every vet a big thank you and a big respect but that don’t mean you get to flat out bypass protocol when you show up wanting to join an MC.... You don’t get to skip the police academy if you want to become a cop whether you served in the military or not do you??? You may have a head start knowledge-wise but you still gotta go thru the same program as everyone else.. I will think less of anyone that thinks they have the right to bypass protocol because of previous accomplishments.. LH&R O.G. Miklo LPFFLP
I am a combat veteran and the club life isn't for me (I checked it out and hung around, but I had too many other responsibilities to balance against duty to the club). However, I will say unequivocally that combat veterans should have to prospect. As any grunt knows, the cohesion of a unit is due in large part to the sense of brotherhood in that unit. That brotherhood is built via shared experiences (basic training, training experiences, combat tours together, etc.). Prospecting is a part of what creates that for a motorcycle. It also gives the club a chance to decide whether or not they want to accept the prospect as a brother.
I'm a 71 year old Vietnam Vet. I did eight days of Hamburger Hill. Been riding since 1970. Not in an MC. None of the above make me an MC. Him asking that question, tells me that he is not MC material. It also tells me he really doesn't want to be in an MC. So did this guy tell them he didn't need boot camp, because he's already a bad ass? Lattelarry
If that guy wants to be in a motorcycle organization and not prospect he should look into the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA). Your prospect time is your time in combat, plain and simple.
In my opinion the cvma should require prospecting or they should tell the hispanic veterans that some people you're supposed to call brother have issues with the Hispanic combat vets family.
I mean no disrespect to you sir. I had bad experiences in 2 states. I know not everyone will see eye to eye but I'm the type of person to keep my views at home. I sure as heck try not to offend someonez especially if I call them brother. I say that because I was called a gangster by a full patch member and an alien by a patch members woman. I find it offensive when people bad mouth my family. I have immigrant family because I am Mexican American. I have always felt the ugly face of racism my whole life but it's gotten ridiculous these last couple. I served as a tanker in the army for almost 8 years including 2 tours in the sandbox. I didnt fight for strangers, I fought for my family's right to be here and live peacefully. I hope things get better. I used to be CVMA buf not no more
Those are the standards of the organization. If you don't like it then join the organization and submit a change to the bylaws to get that amended. Those are also the standards of every branch of the military. Not sure how you're going to change the mind of military branches and pull all of the combat patches of POGs after the fact.
I know what they're called, you don't have to quote 670-1. It still stands that they are awarded for service in a combat zone, even if you were in Al Udeid or Kuwait or on a Navy ship in the Gulf. If you don't like the term combat veteran then I'm sorry. That is the reality of the world we live in. I WAS in direct combat in a combat arms field, I can throw around any term I want.
I appreciate every video that I've seen from you sir. I am a veteran from 2 different wars and I am interested in the MC life. I most certainly expect to and want to prospect. Nothing in the military or in my civilian life that I held with pride was given to me. If I earned it, I cherished it. I dont want any club to just give me my patch. I dont want nor do I like special treatment due to my status as a vet anyway. Keep doing what you do. Stay safe.
I not only enjoyed this but learned a lot from this as well .. I'm a Vietnam Veteran and do appreciate all your videos as well .. I Respect you greatly as well .. due to Agent Orange I have a lot of health issues .. so that is why I never joined a MC .. and so many other things a Veteran deals with .. I have a ICD in my chest for my heart failure .. and colon cancer ..and I can go on n' on but it will make for a long comment .. stay safe and keep up the awesome videos and I will always be here to follow and watch them and share them .. once again ,, "I thank you so much"
I have begun praying for you daily from this moment on. Thanks so much for your kind words and for watching the channel. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
A rightous stand up man wants to earn his way and show his commitment to his cluband his future brothers . Sure respect and thank him for his service to our country . But a brotherhood is built on equality as much as anything else .
Everyone has to show their new club something about themselves before they bring them in full circle. If they have a huge veteran background well the probation period can be shortened but not eliminated.
Welcome Home to all My Brothers and Sisters in Arms, however I believe I should have to prospect for a MC if I want to join just like I had to earn my Blue Cord, and the rest of my awards, Blessings.
. "Once a job has begun, never stop until its done, do it well or not at all." Talking about the taco run to Mexico. Good work ethics for life. Keep on keeping on Black Dragon. H&R
This message hits home and has truth on so many levels even outside of the motorcycle community and MC culture. SO many veterans leave the military and EXPECT an executive-level job to be handed to them. Many don't realize post-military life still requires hard work and perseverance and NOTHING is going to be handed to them except for the things the military promised them (documented) after their service (i.e. medical, post-access privileges, etc.).
Always love hearing your taco story. Yes sir prospecting is about learning all aspects of the club and building true Brotherhood. Everyone should Prospect everyone.✌️
It's this simple, as a Combat Veteran. If you don't want to prospect then don't join a club. It's not that difficult. You prospect to show that you want the club as much as the club wants you.
One thing that would solve this issue, is for there just be a veteran / currently serving club. There are plenty of them out there already, but they operate under traditional standards. Some even our support clubs for dominant 1% clubs. You would have to start from scratch and do things differently. This club could start offf with the number one bylaw that says Honorable service / current service covers prospect period. One could have to do a certain task prior to full patch membership. Again everything would have to be written in clubs by-laws.
I was looking into a riding club. Because i already did my outlaw shit a long time ago lol. Im just looking for friends to ride with. Is there any combat vet riding clubs that don't require to be patched in? Thank you in advance.....
To the veteran who wrote the letter first thing i would like to say is thank you for your service. Just like the military you have to go to basic training you wouldn't let a civilian put a military uniform on if he didn't earn it. I would like to add a little to what he said. Probate / Prospects each club has there own name for it. When and if a Probate/ Prospect becomes a full patch that dont mean that your done cause your always a Probate / Prospect for life. Cause you still have to work and do your part the patch dont make the man the man makes the patch. I see a lot of members in different clubs fail there club because they dont take the time to spend with prospects and teach and show them the ropes and how to be a dam good brother. A probate/ prospect is only going to be as good of a brother as he is taught. And always remember if it is not in your heart then dont put it on your back. Like your video's keep them coming and ML&R
Late to the channel but on point here too BD. Easy answer for me (I have 2 tours under my belt) if the by laws say everyone prospects then everyone prospects. The only time I would get hot is if someone has been hanging around (official or not) the Members liked him enough to invite to start the process and they say they want to join but not prospect. That would pretty damn disrespectful especially since some Brother has likely already stuck his neck out and agreed to sponsor you. Now if it’s just someone inquiring about membership rules and says that. Well that’s a self correcting problem as the conversation ends there. I served with a lot of people in combat that I wouldn’t want to be in an MC with. Success in one doesn’t automatically mean success in the other.
I think as a combat vet, I'd join a club that is run by brothers who have experienced what I've experienced. I wouldn't deal with civilians, simply because they can't understand what is going on in my mind. My brotherhood is not the same as what most MC's consider a "Brotherhood". I bleed green, my Puerto Rican brother bleeds green, my afircan American brother bleeds green, my Asian brother bleeds green. We dont deal with racist bullshit because it doesn't exist in combat. We've seen it all and we can relate. .. we are all one color, green.
Almost all major MCs are full of brothers who have seen combat, from World War II to Korea, to Iraq to Afghanistan - we have all of those brothers in our club and they get along just fine with the brothers in the club that haven't seen exactly what they've seen.
I’m a combat vet with bucket loads of combat deployments. I’m telling you now, anyone that advertises their “resume” the was this guy did, is absolutely full of shit. If you’re such a bad-ass, prospecting will be nothing!
Last comment, I grew up in the 911 aftermath and joined when I was of age. I am 31 now. 32 in January. It's nice to serve but isn't the only thing. Would I want to go overseas now, no, cause likely it isn't for what I thought then. It's not the only noble thing to do, you join to serve the citizenry, not become better then them and never think you have to do something again.
As a Combat Vet if I decided to join a club. And if I was offered Full patch membership without being required to be a prospect based on my status as a Combat Vet. I would have to respectfully decline, or at least explain..Like I earned the right to call myself a Soldier, and went through through a Rite of Passage Ceremony to earn my Regimental Creast. I would expect nothing less from a Club. People don't understand Basic training and training in general is not only to teach you how to be a Soldier, but more importantly it tests your mental resolve and determines if you can make it. Prospecting can be viewed as a similar process. As a prospect your learning how to be a member of the Club, and the Club is learning who you are and testing your resolve to determine if you can make to their "Rite of Passage." Also...I know shitbags in the Army. You don't want those guys in a club. Just my 2 cents
Why would a club want someone who thinks they don't have to earn the patch and just think they deserve it. Military isn't everything. I'm ex military, and I am honestly tired of people thinking that's the only important thing someone can do. Excessive hero worship is insulting in itself
1st - Ive been down range a couple of times and that doesnt make me any more of a vet than anyone else. You can get knocked the fuck out just same. No matter if u were a cook or combat vet
Mr Arkatek ....facts...I can't stand when people say they're a Real Vet....a vet is a vet....whether it's 4 years of service or 20 years and retired. 10 deployments or 0 deployments. Like you said...anyone can get knocked...don't matter how many engagements you had or what rank you are.
YES, by all means! Anyone that has ever served knows that not every veteran is biker material! Maybe their time as a prospect could be shortened but nobody should be exempt from proving themselves! Benedict Arnold, Lee Harvey Oswald, Charles Whitman were all veterans, would you want them in your club?
I have love for yuh my brother because you always spit Positive shit… and Trolls shouldn’t even be committing.. I Know the VP and Prez in California.. I’m gonna make a Trip out Next year my Brother to shake your hand and show some Love…. AKA Yo Boy Big Slymm…. “Slim”…. Keep doing what yuh doin….
The five branches of the military (Army, Air Force, Space Force, Navy, Marine Corps.), six if you include the Coast Guard, are different from each other. Motorcycle Clubs are different from each other. So when you go from the military to a motorcycle club, you can bet your @$$ that's gonna be different. As such, that motorcycle club isn't just looking for the things you mentioned, they want to see how well you adapt to X, Y, and Z. Literally, the list is so long, it will take you a year just to get through it all. At least. Full disclosure: I am a forty three year old woman in a nursing home due to Multiple Sclerosis. However, when I was in high school, I was in Army JROTC all four years, and was in the drill team for two of them. Fast forward to when I was diagnosed with MS, I was thirty one, and then put into my first nursing home, I was thirty four (yes, it progressed that quickly). Not only will you get bored with nothing to do, you'll get bored with the same thing to do. As I am a woman, my cliché thing is reading romance novels, a lot of them under the subgenre, MC. Yes, there are romance novels that take place within the MC world. lol A lot, actually. These tend to be a series. One book may be about the President, the VP, the Sgt. At Arms, the Enforcer, the Treasurer, the Secretary, maybe a Prospect, etc… you get the point. Anyhow, in one of them, the point was made if you go from the Army, Air Force or Navy to one of the other two, you don't have to go through basic all over again. If you go from the Marine Corps. to one of the other three, you don't have to go through basic all over again. However, if you go from one of the other three to the Marine Corps., you do have to go through basic all over again. (The series was written before the creation of the Space Force.) FYI, basic is military, and prospecting is MC. Same difference. That being said, the concept shouldn't be foreign to a veteran. Sorry (not sorry) for the length, I tend to be quite verbose, and unable to state things succinctly. LOL
It would surprise me if you found a combat vet that would dodge an opportunity to prove his salt, or prospect for an MC that they respect. However, as a combat vet, i have to say that i am more interested in riding with other like minded vets, which is why i ride with a combat vet riding association-where your prospecting phase is your time in service. It is not an MC, but our mutual experiences and training fosters a tight bond between us. On the flip side of that, without truly prospecting, there is no way that i can trust whether or not they will stand and fight next to me if the unfortunate situation should ever arise. Trust like that is only gained through experience. There is value in prospecting.
Just by reading this title and being a combat Veteran myself (and spent 20 years in the Army) I'd say you have to earn your place in an MC just like we had to earn our places while in the military. Being in the military is a selfless job that we volunteered for and shouldn't expect much from the civilian world. If something was given to someone then they won't value it versus if they had earned it.
@@BlackDragonNationalPresident and thank you for taking the time for replying to me and all of us and special thanks for the is it easy for a guy to get a woman while in an MC video I requested awhile back.
If you are asking this, you are probably never going to be offered a chance to be a prospect. Prospecting is so the club gets to know you and you get to know the club and what they expect of you and you show your loyalty.
I'm veteran my self United States Army infantry 1989 -2001 honorably discharged i did my time. I've have had two different mc club try and bring me on board. But I'm loner i roll when i like go where i want but most of all i don't like being around a lot of people I've always been this way but after my time in the military just reinforced what i feel. Being in a club a mc club is just not for me I'm not gonna try something i know will not work i will not waste my time or the clubs time. But i do appreciate them asking.
Black Dragon National President Right they could probably find someone that could be the right fit for the club. Enjoy the video's keep them coming and be safe!!
I'm currently streaming this video to my TV so I can reply while watching....first off how is that person gonna say he's a "Real Vet"...what's a "Real Vet"? As an 18 and a half year active duty soldier, that has combat time I find it offensive when people say that crap. And the reason you prospect is to show how passionate you are about what is on your back, learning the history...etc. If I ever hear anyone even ask "Do I have to prospect?" They gotta GO! I don't care if they are a Flag Officer or John Freakin Rambo.
You are so right, B D. Veterens need to prospect same as everyone else, just don't test them on things they already have proven by their lives that they know. Harriet Seibert
50 + years ago park my bike and went to Vietnam 4yrs later I labored and worked hard to afford a family and house and a bike I was approached over the years to join Mcs I looked and drank and fought with and against bikers. For one reason or another I wouldnt start the process, mainly I Joined a blood in blood out full contact Club. The Marines and I knew it couldn't happen again. I'm now a Combat Vetern MA for the brotherhood of shared experiences and respect of caring for the Veteran that needs help. We ride we are Brothers and Sisters and do not. Need Mc to make it real. Thanks Black Dragon, keep it real even behind an RV.
We get this sometimes from Marines, since we are a Marine Vet MC. Some feel the already "prospected" at boot camp. That just tells me they know nothing about the MC world. Being a Marine is just the basic qualification to get into the club - but you still have to hang around, to ensure you're a fit and that we're a fit; then you have to prospect to learn how to present yourself as a member of our club. Between the two is an 18 month process, and it has nothing to do with proving you're a Marine. It's not the MC world joining the Marines....it's a Marine joining the MC world.
Black Dragon National President Thank you - and thank you for these videos and the information you put out. You're doing a great service to folks - patched and unpatched.
Serious clubs are chock full of vets, I am a vet and my friends all prospected. So will I when I go on record. They like you because of being a soldier, but you proved yourself in the sandbox not the club.
I don't always get to see your live broadcast, but I do enjoy watching. I am an E-8 (Army MSG) with almost 28 years of active service. I had to prospect for the EXACT reasons you talked about in this video. Your status in the service does not mean anything in the MC. Good leaders are good followers first. I didn't join the Army as a MSG. I joined as a private and learned how to Soldier. As I learned more I got promoted. I didn't work less as I got promoted, I worked more. You pay your dues, learn your lessons and help the club.
hey so... if you have an rv why wouldn't you drive it?!?!? people are so stupid. And if you towed it, wouldn't that say you loved biking vs leaving it home?? people are so strange.
I respect everything vets have done for us, but at the same time no one is forcing you to join an MC. If you don't want to prospect, find an organization that doesn't require you to. Not prospecting is slap in the face to those who have
mikeob27 Agreed- any vet ( combat vet included) will tell you no organization that gives away its achievements ( like participation trophies) are worth being a part of.
3 tours then 3 years prospecting in a christian MC and i loved it would i do it again oh my lord yes, Anyone whom have and is still serving will tell ya we work our way that is our respect our pride our life
If you are hanging out on the MC set it would be wise not to wear that. It looks too much like something that might be misunderstood and wind you up in an explanation that might be very uncomfortable. Other than that, no.
I appreciate the quick reply and i apologize for the off topic question. my crew and i are relocating to AZ. i know there are some prominent clubs in the area, so i wanted to find out if you thought they would have a problem with them. we aren't necessarily going to walk into one of their "spots" or anything. but if my group is seen in public I'd like to know whether or not they'll want to take action towards us. we rep 3 pieces and never had a problem in tx. but we've also never run into a club here, either.
If you are wearing MC looking cuts you always stand the chance of running into an MC in public. Such a run in could always result in issues of the MC is offended by how close your cuts look to theirs. Now, hanging out on the music scene may mean you would never run into such issues, as well as many MCs, once they figure out what you are up to, and what you cuts stand for, simply won't give a damned. But you should train your guys up to the correct responses if challenged to keep everyone safe. In your old area you may have been well known. In your new area, maybe not, and you may not be wanted. It's always difficult being the new kid on the block. Good luck to you and your bros!
Clubs take their cuts very seriously, and it's not worth the potential problems it could cause. Just my opinion but if you don't belong to a club don't try to look like you do.
If I ride solo is it OK to put a position patch that says independent? And also as your the president of a black motorcycle club, I know it's not appropriate to call a member of a motorcycle club that you don't belong to "brother" I know African Americans call each other "brother" but is it rude if a Caucasian man calls a afro ethnic person " Brother"
BD that the full patch member who did big time bad---give him a choice---either do prospect again so you fully learn to be a true full patch member of that MC club or be out bad with all that goes along with being out bad. That way, the member has a chance to redeem himself with his MC club and be restored to full fellowship with the club. Harriet Seibert
I'm going to jump off a cliff here but I say take a collection and give the veterans a bike and membership to the club as tribute to serving with honor
Hell me too! I can't count how many tours I did behind enemy lines on a submarine for 15 years! But I'd surely love a free bike! Although I still had to prospect. :-)
You prospect intell you get it every one is different some take longer to get it but in the end you earned it not got it try and take a patch form someone who earned it GOOD LUCK let me know how it works out for ya
Well if I decide to prospect again it would be with the same club i did it for..... Due to a parent having cancer I had to move from KY to NM because a sibling was running a muck and terrorizing her what she was going through.....
Fuckin A, Why not, I Prospected Twice for the same club, loss my patch not makin a mandatory run, took another year prospecting to get back in, second time was smoother, weren't many who could beat me up second time so shit was done at my own pace, plus like you said we knew one another after ten years an how we treated each other.
I have 3 combat tours in Iraq, and I STILL wouldn't feel right not having to prospect... To me, anything worth having is worth earning, regardless of what it is.
Still wouldn't have to prospect in the CVMA. Although, we're not an MC. Go to combatvet.us to look for a local chapter. Mike Golf CVMA Chapter 24-3 Chapter XO
Anyone wanting to join a righteous club must prospect even if they’re a saint with a halo around their head prospect get to know the person so they can know you guys no exceptions black dragon no exceptions it’s in the bylaws if you make an exception to the rule well you’re going to get 50 people that one exceptions come on you know!🕶”
Years ago I heard some said I have always remembered. Brotherhood if I have to explain it you won't get it. But I see you sir doing your best. I applaud you for your effort.
_BEFORE I even hear the first minute_ I'll preface everything with "Do you really want to be a member of an organization that would not respect what you have done in the past?" Other side of that coin is "Rank doesn't always transfer." SO.... find the real combat vets who are full members and if they do NOT talk honestly man-to-man and answer your questions, you'll know all you need to know. *Dragon, One foot in front of the other - smiles ahead of you and miles behind & keep on truckin'*
EXCUSE ME SIR BUT SYMBOLOGY is most definitely a word. And it is definitely the word I meant to use. As I was lecturing on the study and interpretation of the use of symbols and their meanings, rather than the art or practice of using them, which is what the word SYMBOLISM means. You can find the definitions below: Merriam Webster Definition of symbology plural symbologies 1: the art of expression by symbols : the study or interpretation of symbols : a system of symbols . Merriam Webster Definition of symbolism 1: the art or practice of using symbols especially by investing things with a symbolicmeaning or by expressing the invisible or intangible by means of visible or sensuous representations: such as a : artistic imitation or invention that is a method of revealing or suggesting immaterial, ideal, or otherwise intangible truth or states b : the use of conventional or traditional signs in the representation of divine beings and spirits 2: a system of symbols or representations
If it were a mercenary unit, I could see a combat vet not having to prospect. When I go to the movies, I pay at the door, they don't want to hear about my prior experiences.
Prospecting was the best time Ive ever had in my club. All eyes on me.Out to prove my worth to earn that Love Loyalty and Respect. Its not a downgrade to Prospect. Its an upgrade from where you were.Of course every club has those shitbags who like to fuck with Prospects but shine em on.Best way to get back is to earn your patch then you can walk up to that new Brother and depending on how bad he treated you you can tell him before you can call him Brother you need to get the poison out.Guaranteed he wont take you up on it.Most patch holders who abuse Prospects turn out to be shitbags and soon fade anyway
Why, is it wrong to tow your motorcycle behind you RV if you going camping and plan on riding? Is there some law that says you have to but the bike in a trailer?
@@BlackDragonNationalPresident I ride an escooter as I don't yet have a motorcycle, it has 2 wheels and goes a to to b, good starter for someone who never rode a motorbike to get a feel for the road, and the traffic
I'm a combat veteran and yes you still have to earn it, nothing in life is free and just because you served doesn't say shit about your character
Different strokes for different clubs.
Like a man who speaks his mind. A wise man told me no matter how long you've been in a club never stop prospecting!
I am and combat infantry veteran with a purple 💜 for being blown up. However I would expect that I have to prospect, its all part of the Process. That dude was most likely a POG
I have all that and I’m a pog . What’s your point ?
You have a purple hart not a CIB
@Anthony Burton LOL WAIT YOU MEAN THEY EVEYONE ELSE BADGE OR WORSE...CAB?
To each their own. 4 years USMC infantry with 2 deployments. I’ve considered prospecting but nah. I’ve got nothing else to prove.
Love the perspective about the truckers, linemen, and everyone who helps keep the world moving. A lot of times we forget to be grateful for them all.
You got me wanting to prospect again.
Keep on keepin' on Black Dragon, haters gonna hate no matter what you do!
i guess it is kind of off topic but does anybody know of a good website to watch new series online ?
I ordered your book “Prospect Bible “Looking forward to learning. As a veteran, I understand the need to know you team member.
I am 62 and I have been riding since I was 8, never joined a M/C but have always been interested in M/C lifestyle and I really enjoy your channel, keep up the good work.
Not requiring someone to prospect is a dangerous proposition no matter what their background is.
As a 47 month combat vet, I’d have to agree that we prospect in combat. You have to prove combat to be a full member with voting rights. Anyone of my brothers and sisters who seen combat for our country is the most trustworthy person I know.
Great topic BD! As a prospect ( and 31 yr Navy vet with 9 tours) nothing worth its salt is ever given away like a “ participation trophy”.
Thank you for your service sir!
Thank you for your vids sir. I enjoy all the advice you give, keep up the hard work and brush the haters off.

That's real truth right there sir. Thank you for your service.

Same here Keyboard. After one year with that organization that does not require prospecting, I’m about to leave as well to join an actual Veterans MC because I feel these individuals treat you differently like their expected to treat a fellow brother instead of the BS that goes on in that other organization I’m leaving.
Combat vets dont get jump wings or any certification without doin the training so why should anyone vet or not get a patch without doin the training

Lattelarry
1 of my old 1SGT fought on that hill!
We welcome every Combat Veteran in the CVMA. I'm sorry if you know someone who didn't feel welcome. Do you know what chapter that was?
Stay safe.
Thank you for your service.
Thanks so much for your service to our great country!

Mikey OFFO my thoughts exactly big bro 💯💯💯
Everyone has to show their new club something about themselves before they bring them in full circle. If they have a huge veteran background well the probation period can be shortened but not eliminated.
Welcome Home to all My Brothers and Sisters in Arms, however I believe I should have to prospect for a MC if I want to join just like I had to earn my Blue Cord, and the rest of my awards, Blessings.

I like your videos. Thanks for doing what you do. I’ve learned more from you then about anyone.
Hello Black Dragon, point well said. Keep doing you and enjoying your lane.

It's this simple, as a Combat Veteran. If you don't want to prospect then don't join a club. It's not that difficult. You prospect to show that you want the club as much as the club wants you.
How do you feel about th Combat Vets Motorcycle Association?
Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association. www.combatvet.us/
To the veteran who wrote the letter first thing i would like to say is thank you for your service.
If someone came to you and demanded membership would you want them?
@@BlackDragonNationalPresident Sir can I ask your opinion on Combat Vets Motorcycle Association?
As a prospect your learning how to be a member of the Club, and the Club is learning who you are and testing your resolve to determine if you can make to their "Rite of Passage."
Also...I know shitbags in the Army. You don't want those guys in a club.
Just my 2 cents
ian 77, Facts brother!!!
A Military man is not expecting to be given anything
Why would a club want someone who thinks they don't have to earn the patch and just think they deserve it. Military isn't everything. I'm ex military, and I am honestly tired of people thinking that's the only important thing someone can do. Excessive hero worship is insulting in itself
Yes , everyone should have to prospect. Otherwise it will create division and resentment within the club.
I miss the “nothing tops your cut”, then the sideways smile video. Keep up the good work and the good word Dragon.
I've got some ore of those coming! :-)
We all should prospect
YES, by all means! Anyone that has ever served knows that not every veteran is biker material! Maybe their time as a prospect could be shortened but nobody should be exempt from proving themselves! Benedict Arnold, Lee Harvey Oswald, Charles Whitman were all veterans, would you want them in your club?

Are you by chance with CVMA?
Ryan Prescott, I am with CVMA
Just by reading this title and being a combat Veteran myself (and spent 20 years in the Army) I'd say you have to earn your place in an MC just like we had to earn our places while in the military. Being in the military is a selfless job that we volunteered for and shouldn't expect much from the civilian world. If something was given to someone then they won't value it versus if they had earned it.
Thank you for your service.
@@BlackDragonNationalPresident and thank you for taking the time for replying to me and all of us and special thanks for the is it easy for a guy to get a woman while in an MC video I requested awhile back.
💯💯
The MC life is not for everyone. It's wise to stay away from something to which you know you could never conform.
Black Dragon National President
Right they could probably find someone that could be the right fit for the club.
Enjoy the video's keep them coming and be safe!!
Thank you for your service. Fair winds and following seas.

Everybody prospects, and if you balk you are not what we are looking for, period.
Well said!
Black Dragon National President Thank you - and thank you for these videos and the information you put out. You're doing a great service to folks - patched and unpatched.
A lot said here that speaks on a LOT of levels
Yes MSG!
hey so... if you have an rv why wouldn't you drive it?!?!? people are so stupid.
3 tours then 3 years prospecting in a christian MC and i loved it would i do it again oh my lord yes, Anyone whom have and is still serving will tell ya we work our way that is our respect our pride our life
should i expect a problem if I wear a 3 patch cut if it's not MC related?
Good luck to you and your bros!
thanks a lot man, i appreciate that.
Who is it and what channel
BD that the full patch member who did big time bad---give him a choice---either do prospect again so you fully learn to be a true full patch member of that MC club or be out bad with all that goes along with being out bad. That way, the member has a chance to redeem himself with his MC club and be restored to full fellowship with the club. Harriet Seibert
I'm going to jump off a cliff here but I say take a collection and give the veterans a bike and membership to the club as tribute to serving with honor
I wish I could get a free bike for serving. I did 2 tours in iraq but I would still like to prospect for a club.
Hell me too! I can't count how many tours I did behind enemy lines on a submarine for 15 years! But I'd surely love a free bike! Although I still had to prospect. :-)
At 19:50 that is so tru
How long does one have to prospect anyways?
It is different in different clubs. Common time would be about three months, but I've known clubs where it takes year or more.
I'm sorry to hear that story. I've seen it many times before in many different families.
Then you find out he can't fight lol
I have 3 combat tours in Iraq, and I STILL wouldn't feel right not having to prospect... To me, anything worth having is worth earning, regardless of what it is.
Still wouldn't have to prospect in the CVMA. Although, we're not an MC. Go to combatvet.us to look for a local chapter.

CVMA Chapter 24-3
Chapter XO

Thanks for taking the time to leave your comment.

Yes, we should prospect,.
Wonder why you always get comments and questions about your vids, questions that most wouldnt ask or say to your face.
I've often wondered that too. And the reason I believe no one would say these things to your face is because no one every has in my whole life.
All but a couple in my chapter are combat vets and 1 of them is a vet.
Sounds like that hater, whatever his name is, is jealous of the freedom that you experience every day that he only wishes he had.
Every time he says, "Symbology" I think if the movie Boondock Saints. Lol
"Symbology" is not a word. The word you are looking for is "Symbolism"
You can find the definitions below:
Merriam Webster Definition of symbology
plural symbologies
1: the art of expression by symbols
: the study or interpretation of symbols
: a system of symbols
.
Merriam Webster Definition of symbolism
1: the art or practice of using symbols especially by investing things with a symbolicmeaning or by expressing the invisible or intangible by means of visible or sensuous representations: such as
a : artistic imitation or invention that is a method of revealing or suggesting immaterial, ideal, or otherwise intangible truth or states
b : the use of conventional or traditional signs in the representation of divine beings and spirits
2: a system of symbols or representations
If it were a mercenary unit, I could see a combat vet not having to prospect. When I go to the movies, I pay at the door, they don't want to hear about my prior experiences.
Prospecting was the best time Ive ever had in my club. All eyes on me.Out to prove my worth to earn that Love Loyalty and Respect. Its not a downgrade to Prospect. Its an upgrade from where you were.Of course every club has those shitbags who like to fuck with Prospects but shine em on.Best way to get back is to earn your patch then you can walk up to that new Brother and depending on how bad he treated you you can tell him before you can call him Brother you need to get the poison out.Guaranteed he wont take you up on it.Most patch holders who abuse Prospects turn out to be shitbags and soon fade anyway
yes they know they need to earn what they get its what they learn from serving
Why, is it wrong to tow your motorcycle behind you RV if you going camping and plan on riding? Is there some law that says you have to but the bike in a trailer?
Hell no! And it ain't wrong. Ride what you want when you want. It's yours. You bought it.
@@BlackDragonNationalPresident I ride an escooter as I don't yet have a motorcycle, it has 2 wheels and goes a to to b, good starter for someone who never rode a motorbike to get a feel for the road, and the traffic
