Your method worked fantastic on my Repulsor Executioner. Saved so much time basecoating because I don’t have an airbrush. Definitely going to apply this method to my smaller guys going forward. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this guide, I’ve wanted a Space Wolf army since the 90s but never really had the skills/access to paint back then. It’s taken me all day but by following your instructions I’ve got two marines painted to a better standard than ever before. Your Marine Juice recipe works a treat. I’m truly grateful, thanks again.
As someone who has just got back into the hobby after almost 20 years your videos have really helped! The best easy to follow guides on UA-cam. Thanks dude!
I've been struggling to find the right method and colour techniques to paint my Space Wolves. Well, I think this is the right one. Thanks a lot! Great video.
The work on the chainsword is amazing, love how each "tooth" is highlighted, and the (lightly) different color add an "old" flavour to the armour, as a past times' relic.
He looks really sharp - and it's a much easier, more straight forward approach than I've been (somewhat unsuccessfully) attempting. Think I'll re-prime and try again...
Been watching watching mini painting tutorials on UA-cam on and off for about a year now, and your videos really inspired me to actually start doing it myself. I have been buying different supplies needed for the hobby over the last month, but I have yet to actually buy any paints. the shear amount of brands and colors available is very overwhelming, and it makes it very hard to know where to start.
Just in time for my new army! Though I just got an airbrush so I am going to try the base mid high combo from the army painter air range. Nice to see different ways. Also, I missed when you painted the chest wings thing, you did it gold. Had to go back and find it.
The figure looks great and I think your painting the makings on the shoulders is very well done! I like the look of the Army Painter Wolf Grey better than The Fang because it is a little bit lighter. Thanks for sharing this.
You're too kind. ;D That shoulder marking is awfully wonk, unless you look at it from juuust the right angle. Luckily, it's the best one to take photos from! 😂
I truly love how good and quick this whole scheme is, would you ever consider doing a carcharodon tutorial? Finding a scheme this easy to follow is a nightmare
I like it! My first thought was that doing nothing but a shade with the zenithal on the armour would look too spotty and gritty, but it really works! Just shows me that my priming/zenithal work wit rattle cans is horrible...
It can be a bit of a challenge to get it looking just the way you'd like, but 'too much' of the second colour really doesn't hurt as much as not having enough there and having a grimy, speckled marine.
I would like to see on a mini like this with a small sword, or some other fantasty mini that has a big flat sword...your take on a NMM sword and how you would appoach a paint scheme like that
The short answer to how I'd paint something is occasionally that I just wouldn't. NMM really isn't something I'm interested in, myself; it's a very impressive style, but not something I've ever attempted and wouldn't be all that keen on, I'm afraid.
As chance would have it, I've actually tried the same. Targor Rageshade is a lot more purple than Marine Juice - it's a darker, more saturated colour by comparison.
It'll look super dark. Better to put a couple coats of the contrast over a Grey Seer primer rather than a dark blue, if you're wanting to do things quickly.
If I were to buy the colors for that paintjob now, should I go with the marine juice recipe from this video or with the one from your newer videos which uses Dark Tone from AP instead of Nuln Oil from GW? Also, which color would you use for the metallic parts of a weapon if the model had one? Leadbelcher or also Iron Hands Steel?
How do you secure the minis to the corks? I have for a long time used pill bottles, but I feel like the corks give me better control and access. I like museum wax in that it’s easy to remove but seems like it’s not sticking well enough. Thanks!
Looks great. I know you've said you get tired of painting Space Marines, but I'm a sucker for them. I may be overthinking this, but I'm curious: when you were weathering, is there a reason you used foam for the Rhinox Hide and a brush for the Fenrisian Grey (instead of the same method for both)?
In short, the brush gives you slightly more control for where you're applying the Fenrisian Grey. You don't necessarily want to just cover the brown chips, so being able to highlight them a little more specifically lets you create a 3D-ish effect from them. :D
It's going to look a LOT darker. If you decide to use The Fang spray, over the top of it you'll want to do a couple of heavy overbrushes of Russ Grey to get a similar finish to this.
A couple of folks have mentioned in previous comments that they've had some success with it, so I imagine it'd work. The Quickshade Mixing Medium has a *very* different consistency, but if it's something you're familiar working with, I can see how it'd be the same as shading with Strong Tone or similar.
I know this is late and incredibly random, but for Adeptus Mechanicus (Mars Colour Scheme), the armoured units they have, is it worth painting the red armour in the official Khorne Red? Or is blocking it Mephiston Red more efficient and less paint count?

So .... Will we be seeing a 30K space Wolf? 😉
🐺
Just an observation ... Army Painter Wolf Grey is a 99% match to Citadel's Russ Grey! That's the combo I use on my Wolves
Holy crap! That looks both incredibly simple to do and absolutely amazing on the finished product! Your work is top-tier!
Awesome to see you paint a wolf, my friend. I love his chainsword

Such a straightforward method. Doesn’t require a lot of paints. The end result is fantastic though. Nice job.
I've got my first set of Wh 40k incoming. I've decided on space wolves and I will definitely try this! It looks amazing and relatively simple. Thanks!
For a speedpaint this is an amazing result mate. I love the battle damage, it adds so much to the overall Space Wolf. Great job.
I actually think this is one of your best. And I love the miniature too.
Space marine head as an agitator.... I like it

Awsome paintjob of the worst legion... 😛
will you, please do White Scars? pretty please?
I've already done White Scars using two different methods.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio oh damn shame on me i missed those! my heresy army wont paint itself but your tutorials are always helpfull!
Looks fantastic!
Ooooh I love me some space puppies!
Get those minis on the table!
I wish I could get my chipping to look as good as that, I always end up with too much or too little.
OMG! THAT IS YOU!😊 THANK YOU!

@@SonicSledgehammerStudio yes..i agree....but would you made a video just to show how you would do it? it will be interesting...
Really good work! Have you tested the new-ish Targor Rageshade in place of the “Marine Juice” to my eyes they look fairly similar!
As chance would have it, I've actually tried the same. Targor Rageshade is a lot more purple than Marine Juice - it's a darker, more saturated colour by comparison.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Ah gotcha! Thanks for doing the experiment for me already. 😆
Very amazing tutorial! I wonder if this method could be somehow applied to the Blood Angels?
It should be, though over a black primer I'd first spray a white and then red rather than trying to apply red directly over black.
Just getting in to Wolves, will try this! Was also planning to go for a desert base, how did you do yours?
Have a peek in the description! ;D Base materials are listed just above the paints.
What are your thoughts on using the space wolves grey contrast paint over the blue grey basecoat on the armor?
It'll look super dark. Better to put a couple coats of the contrast over a Grey Seer primer rather than a dark blue, if you're wanting to do things quickly.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Alright, makes sense! Thanks!
Hello!) Can I use Chaos Black from Citadel as a black primer? And can I use Citadel's The Fang as a base if I don't have Army Painter's Wolf Gray?)

For the marine juice, can I substitute the Lehman medium for Vallejo Glaze medium?
You can give it a shot. I've no idea; I've never used the Glaze medium.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio I’ll let you know how it turns out
4:39 Poseidon had a love affair with Medusa because she was the most greourgeous of the Gorgon sisters.
Where did you get the sword?
It's from a Space Wolves Primaris upgrade sprue. I'm not sure whether or not they're still produced, I'm afraid.
