You are such a great journalist! I hope you see my comments as to why this topic was so important to me. I am a gay Christian with disabling chronic pain. In fact, I’ve been disabled for 16 years. I’m celibate but don’t know what would happen if I met my soulmate. I feel so sorry for him. Killing his dog? Scientology at its finest! My chihuahua, Isabelle’s unconditional love has kept me alive thru this and she is 15 now… 🥹. She is healthy now but getting old and don’t know what will happen when she passes. My mother and I watch at least one video per night and wish I had seen this one earlier. Much love to you, please keep going and I wish nothing but more and more success for your career and pray for your family & friends back in Israel!

This is a mistake. You wont understand the allure and the attractions. The early courses heavily focus on training people to be in the present moment and mindful. People experience Zen like phenomona. They entrain ( enculturate, indoctrinate ) People are immortal sprirital beings at the same time.
they use a spiritually loaded language which has double and triple religious meanings for everyday things.
When mango said "youre so theta" , it meant positive, bit also uplighting or spiritual or free.
The religuoius attchments are multifold, a beloef in past lives, future lives, trauma as the main spiritual block , A relationship with the church where other religions place community, or God or the Government.
after the early courses teach someone to disengage their reactions, almost everything else teaches and trains a series of goal oritented filters : to ones own mental experiemce, other conversation and handling people in life. at this point EVERYTHING now has an angle, a product to be produced, an ideal situation from which they are trained to move things toward.
Meanwhile the person might ( if they are a select minority where Hubbards Therapies work ) experience new positive emotions subject to special realizations , or dependant in them. Have past life "recovered memories" which see to validate claims.
The majority of exes claim they LIKED the early stuff, espcially in the very rare circumstances where it was customized to their own problems and needs. ( life repair) . Unfortunateluy its built on exploitation and this is rarely done, and people are pushed into more expensive standardized courses or trainings which dont help them.

Religious freedom is something integral to the U.S. Constitution. It doesn't matter if you're Christian and believe in God, Muslim and believe in Muhammad, Indian and belive in Hinduism, Asian and believe in Buddha.
For Scientologists they believe that Thetans (aliens) were transplanted into Volcanoes and thier spirits were reincarnated into people. The reason behind the Galatic Fedeation falling apart is because of Xenu who corrupted the Thetans.
Personally, I think Hubbard worked to classify Scientology as a Religeion so he could get tax exempt status on all the money the charge to Go Up the Bridge. If they are classified as a business instead they owe back taxes on all the money they make selling courses.

This whole business with the L.A.-faction around Mango and "DazedButNotConfused" vs. DeLa Carriere/Augustine seems weird and fishy though, as if someone wanted to sow hate and confusion among the critics. I feel we need to stay alert about these kinds of signals and not let them destroy the wonderful SPTV scene that has been developing.

Hello, this is Steve. I want to clarify that my primary intention for speaking out against Karen is to share my personal journey of recovery from Scientology and to caution the ex-Scientology community about the potential for abuse from individuals like her. Many critics were aware of Karen's behavior over the years, yet I was the first to openly address it to protect those, like myself, who are vulnerable and seeking assistance as they transition away from Scientology. At a particularly low point in my life, when I was on my way to a Vegas hotel about to attempt suicide, Karen was aware of my distress. Instead of seeking emergency help or informing my husband, she expressed concern about me being placed under psychiatric care via a 5150. She wanted me to go into session with her to “handle” these thoughts for $2,500 per 12.5 hours of auditing. All the while, she portrayed herself as a nurturing motherly figure to me, yet took advantage of me financially, reminiscent of the practices within Scientology. Unfortunately, I was shunned by the ex-Scientology community during this tumultuous time, rather than receiving support to rectify the harm Karen had inflicted. She even collaborated with Angry Gay Pope to produce a defamatory video that targeted my mental health, my marriage, and other personal aspects of my life. The trauma she caused was immense, and I believe my experiences deserve to be shared and heard. The attempts to silence me from sharing my story of abuse feel eerily similar to the suppressive tactics employed by Scientology. Would you agree?

You must be a newbie. For some of us who were raised in Scientology- This isn't a spectator sport for your viewing pleasure.
Doug & Mango creating drama in the L.A. scene? You're joking right?? I surely hope so. Because they've both been around 15+ years. The anti-Scio community has been around for decades.
SPTV isn't some elitist gang that ex Scientologists join. But clueless people like you sure want to make it that way. Do you realize there are at least 50 prominent 2nd gens who've never even been on SPTV? Or do you only care about who's pop-yul-ar?
There are many of us who've been aware of Karen Auditing in secrecy for over a decade. You do realize that auditing is the sole foundation of Scientology right?
Why would you defend a wealthy 70+ year old women coercing a suicidal 23 year old to pay her for auditing? She straight up ordered him not to seek psychiatric help. What she did is what people like me who were born in fight against. We fight against the toxic abuse system that LRH invented from being spread to children and those who need legitimate mental healthcare.
You don't care about anyone abused in Scientology. All you care about is watching us for your viewing pleasure. This is not a game.
Some of us are not afraid to call Karen out for this because she is wealthy. I've been calling her out for over a decade myself. Educate yourself if you want to act like an anti-Scientology activist.

@@MangoTea wow Steve thanks so much for taking the time to write a personal reply!!
Of course - to get that out of the way - I have no business in making any kind of judgement about what happened between Karen DeLa Carriere and yourself.
As someone who has been around on the internet regarding the Co$ for 20+ years, I primarily admire the heroism of the people who take on Scientology with revealed personal data, such as yourself, AGP, DeLa Carriere and more recently the SPTV community following "Going Clear" and "The Aftermath".
One thing that has definitely become evident to me is that Scientology is a "poisonous gift that keeps on giving poison" - it gets weirder and weirder the closer one looks, it appears to me as the heart of a true and authentic evil, which is why I have had my eyes on it for all this time.
AGP does accept donations to support his courageous and often dare-devilish work, and it seems that DeLa Carriere was graciously sponsoring some of his videos, but for many of these videos she seems to have exerted very little "content control", they seem to be some of the most authentically "AGP" of them all. He also produced some of the interviews where she exposes her story, and - behind ToryMagoo44 and Mark Bunker's XenuTV of course - these are really the trailblazers for much content we are seeing now, even if the picture may not be a complete one as you describe. This is why I was so surprised/confused when you went against her so strongly without acknowledging these achievements with a side note?
The other thing that somehow confused me was the change of your moniker to "...Tea" - inside stories people do not necessarily want officially known - it seems almost like a "market" to be in, but I feel like with all the severity around the Co$, the "drama-channel" format needs to be handled with a lot of care. "Truth" itself is constantly under attempted attacks. (On the other hand I am ready to "Let's have a Kiki" in areas of innocent fun- haha)
I guess I also had/have difficulties finding a turnaround from my strong compassion for DeLa Carriere for all the incredibly terrible events she had to endure, and all her courage to brave the destructive Scientology agents to integrating this with your allegations. It feels like an intereference signal of "person-to-person attack" when we would probably need to "keep our eyes on the prize" of dismantling the intricately structured heart of evil that is contained in organised Scientology.
From what you describe though it seems extremely important to avoid commercial counseling services in the "Freezone" - the "heart of evil" is still contained.
Just my 5 cent after all I am observing.
I wish the U.S. had a working medical system like other "developed" countries!
Another aspect is that many of the Scientologists on SPTV have some kind of "Scientology"-dirt on their own hands, yet I still embrace and appreciate them fully as important key witnesses, now that they are speaking out.
I would have done the same for Marty Rathbun who unfortunately appears to have decided to take the money instead.
In any case I appreciate very much that you are ready again to do substantial podcasts such as this one!
On a personal level I hope you can heal from all the hurt that has piled up - stay away from the Freezone charging money no matter who it is.
Take care and all the best!!

@@MangoTeaThank you for warning people about the Independent Scientology groups, people leave the Church and then get scooped up into these groups. I was at a group in South Africa and the mental abuse was worse in there.

Preachers, not the Bible or Christ, shamed me and often included homosexuality with pedophiles & rapists and even said acceptance of gay people would bring about the Apocalypse so I wore a scarlet Letter for decades except my letter was a “G”. After YEARS of therapy and learning to love myself I am much better psychologically but am still disabled and will likely always be bc my Occipital Neuralgia pain isn’t curable and doctors are too afraid of the DEA & the US Govt to prescribe opioids which is the ONLY treatment that has ever helped me.

We can't let Christians forget what they have done.
1000 years they scapegoated Jews, had murderous religious wars, repressed women, supported imperialism and even endorsed slavery. Then, for two hundred years, secularism has been taming the church. We've beaten the church back into behaving and LGBT have been their last scapegoats. Even now as half of the denominations have moved away from that as well, others still persist.
Never stop reminding Christians of their own history of evil.
