BEST CAMEO EVER. I really feel I added intellectual value to this video. My commentary was essential to put the point across. You're welcome. Humble, you're cute in this video. Oops! That must be the jetlag kicking in...night!
+IISuperwomanII I really want to set with you once and speak with you about all types of random things, I really think you are a very wise, funny and positive person keep being cool , PEACE
My mom once saw me watching Humble and she said "Who are you watching?" and I said "Humble the Poet" and my mom got this concerned look on her face and said "We need to control what you are watching" and she interrogated me on what his videos were about. I was so annoyed. I didn't know my mom could be so judgmental.
+Lily Shen Hey, that's true. Folks can be. But they are from a different era, and what was relevant to them most likely isn't relevant anymore. So they judge. You could try and should them Humble and his videos. It ain't bad stuff. Maybe she'll get your point of view. Like my ma is too adamant about her point of view being right, so i just let it go. No use arguing with her. What I'm trying to say is don't judge your ma on being so judgemental. She can always learn new things from you. I know you weren't asking, but i'm in a similar situation and just had to tell. Thanks for reading my rant.
+Humble The Poet i think everyone has experienced racism in one way or another (of course some people have experienced it worse than others) and we must educate many people on how it'sgood to be different and to never judge someone based on appearence. But yes, Humble your right about everything you said( (: i'm definitely on the side going up (the openminded side) :D
while living and studying in Spain I went to see my aunty in Paris. On my way back I was stopped because I had a Haitian passport (what the guy told me) I showed them my Schengen student visa still nothing. I had my US green card with me, showed it to them (ridiculous since I wasn't in the US sigh). I spent over one hr explaining to this French guy why I have a Haitian passport with a student visa living in Spain coming from Paris but a legal resident of the USA. almost missed my flight, Thx God I always get to airports in general super early. I wanted to cry because I had class in the evening in Spain and I thought I wasn't gonna make it. #Myexperiencestudyingabroad
+Humble The Poet where is your AK47? :) you could make a competing app for uber with free rides in police cars for ethnic people :) you just have to figure out a way to get them to drive to a specific location.
+Humble The Poet As a white British male I havn't ever experienced rascism, but I do find myself uncomfortably close to people who practice it sometimes and I get to hear what they say when they think nobody present is going to call them on it. A awful lot of it is down to ignorance: they don't know anybody of a different race, they don't know anything about them except what they read in the media, and their choice of media is increasingly self-referential due to the Search-Bubble and Echo-Chamber effects. Plus don't forget how thoroughly frightened a lot of people in the West are by the "home-grown" terrorism of the last 15 years, which has done a hell of a lot to destroy trust, however unjustifed that may be (that's exactly what the terrorists want, of course). My mother had a good Indian friend at work and I had one at school, so I've never ever bought into the idea that you can't get along with somebody just because they're from a different background to you. That was pretty lucky though: hardly any non-white people live around here and I've worked in places where there were none either.
+Humble The Poet I experience it on daily basis ranging from name calling to physical violence just because I'm an immigrant, I try to handle it with a smile because I know what they say or do just shows what type of person they are.
Humble. I am so proud of you. I've watched you for a long time and I am so thankful there is someone like you who is so driven in bringing a positive change into the world by sharing your own experiences and lessons. The way you word things and how your videos also come with a genuine recipe that can be applied by all. I am truly amazed by you.
Is it just me or UA-cam is a great way to become open minded because you see so many different cultures and you start realizing that everyone is not different at all. That's what happened with me at least :)
#islamimami 😂👌🏼 As a Hijab wearing, brown gal, I've been subjected to many looks and racist statements. But we gotta power through it, we gotta respond in the loveliest, kindest and compassionate way :)
I'm so sorry for your what you've been through. Although I'm a Muslim girl I don't wear a hijab as I don't feel it's necessary. I would have to say being a black, Muslim girl is pretty hard. I feel you.
Unite! It is tough I guess but at the same time, there are so many amazing people in the world who would support me and my choices and would embrace us regardless of colour or religion etc
THIS MAN IS SO WISE ITS NOT EVEN REAL 👏👏👏👏 thank you for speaking up homie .. Keep tAlking keeep talking never stop for shhhhhhitttt . The world neeeds you bro
Can we just appreciate how even though he has experienced so much racism that when I heard the stories it made me sick to my stomach no one should go through that, he still stays so positive and humble, see what I did there 😉😂, about everyone and continues to think everyone should be equal, even the people that discriminate against him. That takes a strong person! Congratulations humble! Your an amazing person 💞 oh and can we just appreciate how amazing Lilly looked ✊💞
This is why I enjoy seeing your videos. You talk about things people don't always want to talk about, you always have great advice and the way you put words together is just incredible. Keep being amazing Humble!
I first experienced racism when I was 6 and a girl told me stay away from her and her friends cause they didn't like black people. At that age I didn't even know I was different from everyone else until she pointed it out to me. 11 years later it's better but I still experience racism every now again. Just never seems to go away unfortunately
As for "on a grand scale, things are getting better", I loved reading Steven Pinker's "The Better Angels of Our Nature". Really gives you some hope for humanity, especially considering the nasty situations we've come from.
I'm so sorry you've had to go through all this! I've had it happen to me once. But it wasn't so blatant. You're amazing and I'm glad it hasn't soured your outlook on life or your view of other people! ❤️
One time I was in Hot Topic and this man asked this group of white people next to me if they needed anything, then he proceeds to skip me after looking me in my eye, and they goes to a another group of white people and asks them if they need help. The thing is I did need help but I feel like because of my race he didn't want to.
As a Grexican (Mexican & Greek) , I do experience racism every once in a while. I mean, not nearly as bad as some other people in the world or even some other people I know- and it's not exactly a first world problem, but it still happens and it still hurts. like kids as school would see me as "different" like you said, and would make rude comments or something when they heard me speaking another language. but some other kids thought it was cool and accepted me, so it all evens out.
Simply because I love Humble's old school rap group shirt. And because his message is so profound and I love his messages and his You Tube collaborations with Lilly Singh.
I'm sooooooooooo happy that I found you!! I love your sense of humor and you speak volumes. Really love your work! Keep up the awesome work:) appreciate all the hard work you put into your videos!!
I try very hard to love everyone, but there are people who are not good, and dont possess good morals or ideas, and while i cant bring myself to love them, i will pray for them. Racism is still a problem, one ive dealt with on several occassions, too, but i agree 100% with humble. If we teach kids to see the value and humanity in everyone around them, to be selfless not selfish, and if they have to judge to judge based on actions and not hereditary traits or the person someone chooses to love, then this world has the potential to become such a beautiful place.
hey humble!!! i think your an incredibly talented and intelligent person!! thank you for your beautiful words and your insightfulness!!! keep rocking brother!!!
I recently moved to a university town in the UK, and everyone here has been so nice. What brings me down is people from my country segregating and treating people differently becuase of the colour of their skin, their accent, and their culture. I think, after practising at home, people are unwilling to let go of their status quo. And they develop new ways to perpetuate differences. I hope they are able to look past their prejudices and be more accepting of people. The most effective way to prevent such behaviour is exposure to different people and their culture. But even if that is not possible, an empathetic peerson will be able to look past differences and focus on things that unite us.
I have never watched your videos before but I've seen you in Lilly's vlogs multiple times...i'm definitely going to go watch all your other videos and I subscribed to you now...keep up the great videos I really enjoyed this one :)
Of course i have faced racism multiple times in my 21 yrs on this earth. But i have accepted that not everyone thinks like me or was brought up like i did and its ok. As long as i treat people the right way and i do the right thing, thts all that matters.
Awesome video humble...Your videos nvr fail to inspire me!! I wish that I could meet you one day and have an actual conversation with u and tell you how inspiring u are...I also hope that one day I get to do a collab with u and feature u in my channel!! Love you always!! Sending lots-a-love and positivity from Malaysia!!
I think a great start would be to teach the true definition of racism to that younger generation (or anyone willing to listen). It's not just hatred of someone because of their skin; that's would be classified as prejudice. Racism is prejudice + power. The power being systems that are put in place to oppress a specific group. I think a lot of people misuse the word and it causes problems. For instance, "reverse racism" is often thrown around, but because POC lack systems to oppress, it isn't really a valid argument. I think if people are interested in broadening their minds, they should definitely start there. It will change perspectives and lead to more knowledge on the topic.
I haven't experienced racism but I have been discriminated against A LOT in my life. For be a woman, being from the Southern U.S. and for being overweight. People who judge others or discriminate and just so wrapped up in their own insecurities that they have to project some of that hurt and anger onto others. It is pathetic and sad.
Reading from a friend I think I will get my own copy! I would be amazing if you all did one of my lectures ( I work in sport media) in Trinidad! Great stuff man

Best. Humble. Ever!!!!! We're all different, one way and another, and expecting anything different would make the world a very dull place.
As for "on a grand scale, things are getting better", I loved reading Steven Pinker's "The Better Angels of Our Nature". Really gives you some hope for humanity, especially considering the nasty situations we've come from.

Well I live in Macedonia. A lil country next to Greece, but ethincally Im Albanian. Theres always beef going on between Albanians and Macedonians. The ethnic hatred is huge, not only here but everywhere in the Balkans. Bosnia,Croatia,Kosovo,Serbia etc. But in all this shtiuation,as Peter Tosh would say, I always find time to share my love with all of them cause in the end ethincity, religion and all that is just something we identify ourselves with. If you rip all of that away we will be the same. Its the essence that counts not the form. Peace. One Love.
PS. That sweater is dope!
At the age of 8 whilst walking home I was told to 'go back where you came from!' Little did she know I'm just as Australian born as her lol
Love your videos ,, much respect from Birmingham , U.K.
The kids in my class used to make fun of the food I brought at lunch time, because it "smelled" and looked gross. :/ I stopped bringing Indian food after that for a long time and I'm still not always comfortable. There were a few kids who asked me why I had such dark skin. I never really knew what to say. Not really racism I think but it always bugs me
I literally was talking about this to my sister. Anyway outstanding video.💕💜✨.

Wow after all these comments I really appreciate living in New Zealand I have never seen anyone be racist here infact a lot of people see me and ask where I am from (cause I am Egyptian and I am brown) and I say Egypt and they all say wow! and cool and stuff and that makes me really happy because they get really excited. Love your videos. So well said and thought out. Also your beard :D
This video addresses Articles 1 and 2 of raw Universal Declaration of Human Rights:
Article 1 states: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood." Article 2 states: The concept of the right to freedom from discrimination is to the concept of human rights, as human rights are the rights of all humans. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted in 1948, starts with the words "Whereas recognition is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world."
Also, How we live our lives determine what contributions we make to this world.©
