  • A friend of mine sent me a link to a story published in the Eastern Anglian Daily Times dated 23rd February giving details of a second shipwreck to be uncovered by the tides on the Suffolk Coast within just a couple of weeks.
Having an interest in this area and a few films on related matters under by belt, and with a wish to record as much details as I could for any interested parties in the future, I set off late on the 25th Feb to undertake a 'recce' for a filming session early morning on the 26th Feb trying to catch a window of good weather and tide times.
Heading towards Southwold I unwittingly headed away from the site but...the light show put on by nature was amazing and these images are at the end of the film...real treasure!
Reading the article again I found the name of the man who had reported the wreck to EADT and with the power of the internet Stephen Sugg came fully on board and has been massively helpful to this project...a gentleman and a scholar, thank you!

Very kind and thank you...being able to see and touch it was a really unique experience. The stories in the wood...it had to be shared!

It’s part of the purpose behind many of my films over the last year. As I have a film production Co, created in 2018 before the world went off piste, film making carries an exemption from travel restrictions.
And although it does not pay, it brings a little outdoors to those unable to get out.

Sorry about the delay…as for the wreck, I don’t know…might be worth sticking an alert maybe on local news?
If I see it is exposed I’ll mail you

Covehithes erosion is going to be a really interesting (and depressing) look into what artifacts are buried underneath the soil in the surrounding area since the place has been a settlement for probably thousands of years.
