When I was a child My aunt in VA had tunnels under her house that led up to the pond & another one went out to the fields & came up in an old fire place that was made out of clay & rock plus she had panels in her kitchen that opened & led down to a earthen room for slaves to hide.. there were stairs that went up to a room within a room with wiring that had a single light bulb.. if you went down the stairs there was an earthen room with a crawl space that led to the tunnels..loved that house but wasn't allowed to play in the tunnels but I could go up to the hidden room..
Brigadier General Adam Stephen, had a little too much to drink and veered off-course in the Battle of German Town. Then got his troops involved in a friendly fire incident and subsequently was ‘cashiered’ out of the continental army. I’m thinking if it’s a tunnel, it connects to the neighbors wine cellar. Uh huh.
I loved the first video you posted about this house awhile back. The concept of an old house purposely built on caves is so interesting to me. I hope to see many more videos of this house and cave system dig out!
I hope we get to see the end results on this dig! And a few other sinkholes! There is a sinkhole need me the owner closed the hole a few years ago! We had a lot of rain this year and the area around the sinkhole flooded! Now there are six houses flooded not counting outbuildings! One of the main roads is flooded still it's been a month since the rain! I'm going to see if they want to open up the sinkhole if the water ever goes down later brocephus!
pls do longer vids when doing any cave adventures really lve them have they been doing that digging out for 2yrs also how do they know any of directions they digging will get to tunnel system
They would really benefit with two additions. 1. a claw shovel, the one used for digging pole holes 2. a pulley system to move buckets up. I'm guessing they can't move dirt out of the house?
I can't believe that ya'll are allowed to dig underneath that place because they don't even want people walking around there but I am glad that I have came across your videos because I have just moved down here to fayetteville Georgia from MARTINSBURG West Virginia and I have lived there all my life, but anyways there are alot more caves and tunnels around MARTINSBURG and SHEPERDSTOWN too and it's only about 15 minutes from that place.
You have got to come back to the UK. We have some cool stuff near me in England. I live in Berkshire just west of London with so many historical areas which you would love to detect in.
Wow that is an awesome cave system to dig out and I wonder where it leads? That looks like it is going to take some time to dig out and what will you do if it does connect to another house? ATB GL & HH LittleJohn_MD 🇬🇧
Have you been under the stone house next door? I expect you have. Going northwest on the tracks, starting right there at the Adam Stephen House was the "Colonnade bridge" A beautiful stone bridge which was destroyed by Stonewall Jackson in 1861.
I gather it's the water flow that has brought the dirt in and blocked everything up over the years. There must be an exit...rumours, tales and stories exist on elements of truth. Peace Charlie 🇬🇧
Its on the Chiggs channel, I think it was recorded and uploaded about a year or so ago. Some older river hunting videos also have the whole song at the end.
One more thing, the tunnels do run underground through downtown MARTINSBURG and do you know where Boyd Avenue is located? Because my grandmother owns a house at the beginning of the street, but anyways if you drive all the way to the end of the street at the turn around that is the Bell Boyd House and supposedly the tunnels run underground there to, and railroad tracks run behind that house too just like it does there at the Adams Stevens House, is it just a coincidence? I very seriously doubt it and I think that they were transporting slaves etc underground from house to house years ago......
I know nothing about tunnels or hideouts but the few that I have seen were about 6 feet deep and tunnels were little more than crawl spaces. if it was a hideout from indians why would it be so deep? It would be hard to get into or out of especially for women, children and old folks. Same question if it was some kind of a tunnel system.
In the hiking community if you shine your headlamp on someone’s face, they tend to get pretty upset. It doesn’t seem to be a thing amongst these guys.. is that the case?

Incredibly interesting that it's thought to be a tunnel system that leads to other houses in town! Love it!
It definitely is, I am from MARTINSBURG West Virginia.

OMG! Looks dangerous!

I am from MARTINSBURG West Virginia and I have been in that house too, but anyways the tunnels are definitely 100%legit.
I remember this video I wondered what was happening to the house
I live like dangerously close to there and never knew they did that
In a hole in the ground there lived a Chigg......
Could it have been just an old well / cistern? Are there tunnels for sure, or just a theory
Looks more like they are mining not searching!
@@strietermarinesurvey1415 Yeah it looks like theyre just digging into the dirt making their own cave xD
Definitely tunnels my friend because I am from MARTINSBURG West Virginia.

A prob rod with a slide hammer would work good for finding soft spots.
so the song at the end is there a full song anywhere?

What's gonna happen when you do pop into someone's basement? I think they might be really hacked off.
