Have a Paper Pro myself but 2 weeks with frontlight? No way! More like 2 days! Love it though, the light is great, also not bothered by the flashing or weight, size is perfect for me and the color is a game change!
Hard to pull the trigger on this at this price point. Definitely more of a want than a need. I've got a Samsung Tab S9 Ultra and a Kindle Paperwhite. I've been known to collect tech over the years with the best intentions. I think I'm getting a little better controlling the impulses though. But, they would sell a lot more of these at a reasonable price. Kindle Scribe is going for $270 today. That one might get me.
@ I put a Supershieldz matte finish protector on the Tab S9 Ultra, and it's great. Had one on my iPad Pro for 6 years. I keep looking at the R2, but it's not happening at the current price point. I guess enough people are buying them such that they haven't lowered the price.
@@Lean6 I financed mine, but the thing that I wasn't sure would actually work about the tablet is making this tablet invaluable. My Surface tablet can do a LOT, but it is also full of a never ending supply of distractions. I can't be distracted by my rm2. I also can't forget my notepads and the recognition isn't too bad, so it saves me from having to type up everything.
@ Just got out of a meeting switching off between Notes app, Outlook email, PowerPoint, Calendar, Teams, and Acrobat. Didn't take much for me to confirm that I need all of it one device. My use case for R2 just isn't there.
@@Lean6 the thing is that it is easy for me to switch over to everything I don't need to be doing with my tablet. In your use case, it probably won't be as helpful. For me and my writing, it's invaluable
I “want” one of these….. but I can wait - it seems like the marketing dept signed off on this latest edition before the developers could sort the flashy/flashy bug. “Just get it out there/on the market…… we’ve spent all the money we are going to on this iteration”!
Great work. But this a little long winded. I think one more pass at organizing and editing would have given you a right 5-7 min video with a higher impact on viewers. I hope you keep creating videos. This shows great promise!
Its not supposed to be. But if you like to write notes, vs type them, and you like having a notebook for every project, committee, etc, with you all the time, this device is amazing, It has leveled up the RM2, but it still has limitations due to the state of tech, but if you used it, you would think it is REMARKABLE!

Excellent and concise review from a former Remarkable owner and current RM2 owner.
Glad you liked it! ☺️

I got the r2 and I have an tab s9 plus lte. I am in love with the r2. It feels so much better to write on versus glass

thx for the review. pls help me out: does it have an inbuilt dictionary?
Nope but you can download one as PDF
If I’m creating notes and marking up PDF’s, how do I transfer the notes and PDF’s to my laptop?
The desktop app will have it synced up no problem. You can then export it as a PDF/PNG/SVG
@@fouzr but that is a paid subscription feature called CONNECT
It’s handwritten to text software is not good enough.
Almost as good as being pen and paper… I have pens and paper, which I only use to write despicable notes.
Yeah but this thing you can take notes. Have unlimited paper and even read, edit PDFs. As well as read Ebooks
does anyone else have ghosting issues? I was asked by support to replace it. Does that help?

drab gray, low contrast, slow refresh, dim frontlight. a bucket of trade-offs for color. super niche, not a general purpose device.
Which is partially why the reMarkable 2 is still being sold. It’s purely B/W, has better contrast and whiter screen, smaller, lighter, and thinner
@@fouzr 4 and 1/2 years ago, it debuted in May 2020.
@@larrymarso4492 and it’s still usable. Heck, I know of a few people who still love and use their reMarkable 1 from 2017
