Like the video. Love crappie fishing. Oh that black line is recessive gene.
Of course I love any content you still get to publish on UA-cam.
The crappie with the stripe on their backs are called magnolia crappie... They are a hybrid variety mostly in the south
If my information is correct, Magnolia crappie are hybrids raised by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and are stocked only in Mississippi. They do have a black stripe on their back, but so do quite a few ordinary black crappie.
The Black-nose or black-stripe crappie is what they are called. Magnolia Crappie is after they are bread.
In KY we call them black nose
@@jgrantprcc yes introduced there. A lot in Sardis and Grenada. I’ve caught a few in TN also.
Love watching you crappie fish. I've been trying to get into it the past couple months. Never crappie fished before this. Not much luck for me yet on Lake Whitney

That spicy ketchup hits! Lmao
They call dem crappie MAGNOLIA Crappie - actually a crossbreed between two of the most common species of crappie, the white crappie, and the black crappie. Because of this, they look fairly similar and have the same basic habits and feeding patterns - with a Pitbull'ish temper makes'um a LiL bit mo aggressive - they seem to grow quicker , stronger - U know - a six million dollar man-fish !!! YEE YEE !!! dat some sciantist say HEY yall watch dis n make um have a SHARPIE marker stripe on um !!!
Pray'n MOM n Baby !!! n you !!! N as always - Luv UR vids !! n catch'um while dey bitin !!!
Great video. Keep ‘em comin. I fillet exactly like you. These people say you’re wasting a 1/3 of the meat cutting the ribs out must be doing it wrong
Pretty cool you're actually doing the same thing I'm doing.
I was doing quite a bit of white bass fishing last year, but this year I've already went crappie fishing quite a bit.
May not put in quite the effort this year to catch white's.
I'm buying a tactacam cellphone camera tomorrow and taking it down to the hog wood's. Hopefully be doing a little bit of hog hunting.
I am trying to catch the walleye spawning but no luck yet.
They do run way up the river, but it's been low. Hopefully with all the rain we're getting this week the river will be coming up 🎣🎣🐗🐗🦃🦃🪤🪤
Love your crappies videos
Great video that bank will be covered up in the morning after watching this video
enjoyed your video very much keepem coming...
Blacknose crappie is what we call them on the Th river in Bama 😊 you know if that water is cold and you are going to use a stringer you can snip one of those gills and bleed those fish and the fillets will be a lot cleaner when you cut them up.
To the left of the place you went fishing there is a couch 😂 I wonder how it got there
Hey just a man catching fish, love it
Thanks for the info I know that spot and it hard to catch them out there some times.
Croppy is ok. A little soft and Mushy. I prefer a firmer fish like bream or Walleye. Croppy taste good. Just to mushy of a texture for me. Awesome video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It's called a magnolia crappie Mike.
Congrats on the second kid! Gone to catch some crappie as I'm commenting this

Good ol north bosque lake waco
That crappie with the black line on its head is a magnolia crappie we have a ton of them in the lake I fish in Arkansas
I remember when I was a kid and some guy was cleaning up on the crappies in a river and he cleaned out the whole school. I can no longer catch any crappie in that river today. Harvest wisely and perhaps others will be able to catch some in the future.
Looks like fun to me! Kicks
Hybrid crappie called a magnolia they were developed in Arkansas. They grow a little faster and spawn out less eggs.
Around here we call them Mohawk others call them black nose or magnolia I believe
Nice, I just subscribed. Semper Fi
Question!? What happened to the baby wild boar he was gonna keep as a pet????
That’s so crazy, I’ve fished there for years catching crappie and largemouth bass. That spot is super low on water compared to what it usually is. Now I’m gonna have to go back out there and catch some crappie but a little fun fact, that bridge that is to the left of y’all. Someone set that bridge on fire for no reason so you can’t fish off of it anymore unfortunately. I’ve always used a straight tail soft plastic lure but they will eat whatever you put in front of them. Awesome video and keep up the good work.
Where is this ?
What size pinch weight are you using and what lb line? I'm new to crappie fishing and like your setup
You got to do more coyote and hog hunting videos there the best
So how do you choose wgat bridge or when to fish for bridges?
@5:20 magnolia crappie!
