Literally pulled a donor head for my Z4 didnt have the kit to hold it in time while i did it i do now and was trying to figure this all out great video saved me.😂
Hallo undzwar habe uch eine frage wo kann ich am besten im Video sehen wie die Vanos funktioniert ist das vlt bei min 11:43 ? Ansonsten Super erklärung 👍💪
I don't do a great job at explaining how it works completely, but I rebuild the vanos unit in this video, around the 3:11 minute mark ua-cam.com/video/bZOUDOGpYf4/v-deo.htmlsi=ldU9BNY0UPUyW7tD
Everything with the timing components are technically external to the VANOS, and the VANOS acts on those little spiral splined pistons to change the timing. At least that's my understanding of it. The camshaft position sensors operate from those oblong shaped pieces that have the arrows on them. This is also my first time rebuilding one of these so I'm not too familiar with the exact terms for all of the components.
Good job bro 👍 👍 👍
Thanks!
great video, i’m currently timing my m54 and this came in clutch💪🏽
Heck yeah! Glad it could be of use.

Glad it could be of use, yeah it's kinda of intimidating at first with the vanos thrown in the mix, but it's not all that bad in the end.

@@269Garage Im sorry for asking too many question this is my last question 😂 The pistons on the right and left are both activated at the same time ?
Is this timming is fit with out tool ?
I wouldn't attempt it without using the top two tools if that's what you're asking.
