@@stuguy2 maybe true but I’ll take yoo young Jin’s quality over quantity. His songs from 96-04 are some of the best songs ever created in K-pop, which are covered constantly by new artist. Kenzie joined after SM dominated for 10 years. Yoo young jin is also an amazing singer unlike Kenzie. He’s better at vocal directing and helped create SM entertainment into the company they are today.
His top 10 songs can’t be matched by anyone in Korea except for maybe Teddy from YG and Bang shi hyuk from hybe. Even then the first 15 years of K-pop was owned by yoo young Jin songs.

If I getting Taeyeon singing my song as lyrics or composer...it will be one of the best thing in my life... I know, she can make any song sound good... If the song already good, she can make the song more more good and nice... For me, her voice, vocal just different with other...not only about high or low but the colour of her voice...so amazing...

People discard the lyrics of Got the Beat - Step Back but admit the sound is fire. That should tell you that lyricists are at the bottom of the hierarchy when it comes to songs. Stop saying they 'made' this song or that. Look for composers not lyricists.
Depends on the song... Especially for ballads that are often huge hits in Korea, I think the lyrics matter a lot
@@Pos1t1veThinking nope, for ballads its the delivery. Classical tune stood the test of time without lyrics. People can hum melodies with wrong lyrics and that would not matter. Its what made music universal. Words don't matter but the sound does.
Now for this video to make this all about somehow these lyricists were the one who made the songs is simply foul and undeserving. Kenzie I could make an exception that even though some songs she was only the lyricist and not made them, she indeed made/composed some other songs that were iconic.

@@whatno.6007 I'm not disagreeing about music coming first in terms of what makes a song successful. I'm just saying it's wrong to completely disregard the importance of lyrics. At least for some types of songs. Think about songs in your own language, not kpop, cause these are Koreans talking about Korean lyrics.

the producer of kokobop and love shot my least fav exo songs said she had a hard time during those...and it’s insane because i feel like her frustration was passed onto the song to the point i cant listen to them because i feel annoyed and tired

Fact is, GG was formed WITH Jessica as a 9 member group and nothing can change that. It was WITH Jessica’s vocals that together the 9 girls got famous and popular across the world. To suddenly force everyone to erase her existence is just plain stupid and petty

Marz / MZMC is the name of one of the producers who had beef with SM
lol kpop fans should stop glorifying lyricists, everyone can do that job that even idols boast about it. What makes the songs are the creation/composition of it from scratch.. melody, instuments/beat etc. that takes talent. Look at how most sm popular songs cannot be performed live now that SM had beef with the creator.
It is true being a lyricists doesn't take as much as writing a melody but it is still something.
And it's true, with lyrics it took me about 3 years before I got "good/great" compared to making music which probably takes a lot more years to master. (Probably 6 to 10)

Still, in this video, they perpetuate the notion that lyricists made this popular kpop songs or that when it wasn't the case and that is what I'm against. With the exception of Kenzie, she indeed made some songs but others she was only the lyricist and kpop fans in general should be made aware of the creators of their fave songs.

It was "etched" in your mind because its a new quirky word your brain encountered but without the music that accompanied it it wouldn't go far and then you have 2 1/2 of 3 of those songs you gave as an example already existing (as words) in the consciousness of countries outside KR so what your claiming really is the whole package of video, dance, and song barring the lyrics that made it the way it is. KoKoBop's lyricist/s couldn't stop the COMPOSER made of SM to pay them everytime they perform it and include in dvds. Get it? If by some reason the composer of Psycho also had a beef with SM, Kenzie can't stop them even though its perpetuated among kpop circle that she made them when she only contributed the Korean lyrics. That's what I'm trying to spread in this comment section. Lyrics are so easily ride on that by mere word/words some contribute they can fight to be included in the credits.
Spoken word and poetry is a medium for a purpose but to say lyricists made those songs? Now that's a lie that needs to be squashed.

@@thiya4627 they did not. Most of it was in English first before a Korean lyricist is brought into and by then the song is FINISHED.
