Enjoyed the day in the Sanctuary with you! Food looked so yummy and the drinks "refreshing". Spending the day onboard can be relaxing, for sure. Happy cruising!
I KNEW it! You'd love Alfredo's! Belize has a lot of reefs surrounding it and it is a real twisting entrance and exit for the cruise ships. A lot of right and left turns. The navigators earn their money at that port stop. Great video, been on the Sky twice, great to see they have kept up the great service. Can't wait for your next stop!
Our next spot is Costa Maya - with something different this time. We've snorkeled Belize before and it was great (but not as good as Roatan) It'll be interesting when when they finish the new Belize port.
I DO understand the point of the sanctuary on a full ship (spring break, Christmas, August etc) but from your experiences, was it so good you would STILL pay a premium for that, if the ship was only 70% full or less? ...and for what it is worth: it was I who said you look like Sean Connery !
The funny thing is that the Sanctuary was booked that week, but with weekly rentals. It appears many of those folks didn't use it all day - most showed up in the afternoon and we had it to ourselves. We liked having our own private spot. On other ships with more pools, we likely wouldn't do Sanctuary, but newer ships with less pools and lounge space makes it more of a premium to us.
Heard a lot about Princess's pizza. Looking forward to trying it next month. Sanctuary looks so nice. I was surprised it was so empty even on a port day. Cruise Critic had me thinking it sells out as soon as boarding starts.
Our understanding is that it WAS booked almost full by weekly rentals - just that the people with those weeklies didn't show up until the afternoon. So we had it to ourselves early in the day.
The Raviolis Are Also Delicious In Alfredo’s. Your Tea Service Looked Delicious. Was That Clotted Cream Served With The Scones? Looked Much Tastier Than We Had On Discovery And Royal Princess. Thanks For Sharing
We've been to Belize at least 6 times. We've done the cave tubing and ziplining, also a city tour. There's a lot of poverty in Belize and not a ton to do just at the port, plus the tender ride is pretty far compared to other tender ports. All combined for a relax day instead. Sorry.
To show the level of service in the sanctuary while were on a recent enchanted princess cruise we saw one of the serenity stewards from last year's enchanted princess cruise who was working as a greeter in the dining room and as we walked by her she greeted us by name and said I remember you from the sanctuary last year. I was amazed and thought she probably saw our names on the medallion reader but there was reader nearby!!
There were spots on the sides and here and there between the sun shades where there was sun. So there were options for both. We need the shade but many want full sun.
In the last two weeks I’ve had Alfredo’s pizza at least five times. I added pineapple to the Princess pizza. You can make it your way by adding or taking things off.
Never have been on Sky Princess. Would like to go on Caribbean Princess. Use suntan lotion. Not really a fan of Sanctuary areas. Sky Princess, I think this was t he cruise that your daughter got married on. Prosecco is very good. Cranberry juice is good too. Tea time is always good. Been to Alfredo's on other Princess ships. That was when it was included though. Vegetarian pizza looks good. Used to love Carnival pizza. Holland America pizza isn't good. Or at least not when we were on it. Good you stayed on the ship at Belize. State Department put a warning on people going to Belize. Love Avocado. Some of those cakes look good. Took one cruise with RCCL and it was more than enough. Don't think would go back to Celebrity either, but, for different reasons.
@@CruisingCanucks I had both. Preferred the pizza but the Dive-In could have been having an off day. They do offer by the slice but not the same. Missed the deli’s pretzel in the evening.
What was Carnival like in Europe? Was it full of Europeans or mostly Americans. We’re thinking of an Med cruise but don’t want MSC because to many Europeans that don’t understand personal space.
We did Carnival in northern Europe and it was a 50/50 mix of north American and European. We really enjoyed the European crowd onboard. We then did NCL in the Med and it was 80% Europeans. That was a little different for us as there was a little more of a language barrier.
I learned on the enchanted princess while in the sanctuary you should not bring a towel to the hot tub. I was told the serenity stewards would bring it to me and hang it on the rail like they did for you.
$220 per day for the big one we had. The loungers are $40 per day. The big cabana may sound like a lot but if you don’t have the drink package then it could be argued that’s a lot of the value.
Once while relaxing in the sanctuary, the couple next to me started playing Yahtzee! The tv might work for watching hockey 😂
Oh wow!

It will as nice and quiet for sure. Much needed rest after some crazy days going wedding stuff.

Just got off the Enchanted Princess. The pizza place on her is called Gigi’s. We were on the Sky in November. Love both! Princess Pizza is my favorite
We are looking forward to Gigi's next Winter on the Enchanted!
Can’t wait to watch - lol!

Yes it was clotted cream. We'll have to try the Raviolis one day
Happy cruising!
The Sanctuary looks lovely and quiet. I was hoping you’d show us Belize as it’s not on so many itineraries. It’s on our go to list.

@@CruisingCanucks Ther makes sense - thank you! Hope you have a great March Break cruise and look forward to the vlogs.
Glad you enjoyed Alfredo’s! It’s so good!
It was!
The sanctuary is the best and Alfredos is the best and Princess does have the best pizza at C bar none🎉❤
Relaxation cage match - The Sanctuary vs The Retreat. Princess vs HAL. Their two private islands are within cannonball range of each other.

We certainly felt like the service in the Sanctuary was a notch above the rest of the ship. Maybe that's where they place their top staff?
Looks like a perfect day on a cruise ship! Is the entire sanctuary covered from the sun? I enjoy a little sun, while my sister needs the shade.

Fixed times!! Love it! It hat a great idea. Little known fact - Hawaiian pizza invented in Canada! 🇨🇦
The tea service looked great!! Is that standard on most Princess cruises?
Yes. In the Santuary and one of the dining rooms.

Wonderful day with great food and family!
Haven't tried the Princess pizza yet but the pizza on Niuew Stantendam is very good.
Mmmmm NY Deli - can't wait. We board the Nieuw Amsterdam in an hour and will have to decide between Dive-In and NY Deli
@@CruisingCanucks I had both. Preferred the pizza but the Dive-In could have been having an off day. They do offer by the slice but not the same. Missed the deli’s pretzel in the evening.

@@CruisingCanucks thanks for this. I was thinking Carnival. Hoping it lives up to the fun ship.
The Carnival experience out of the USA is the same in Europe. Menus, entertainment - we found it all the same.

Ohhhh so that’s why that happened. Thanks!
@@CruisingCanucks i was very politely told by serenity steward "that's my job to get you your towel"
Too bad the audio in the video didn't pick it up - he said the exact same thing to Mr Canuck!
Do they charge for the sanctuary?

We have Caribbean Princess cruise soon. Is this something you book on the ship?
Sadly the Caribbean Princess does not have an Alfredos pizza - just the regular pizza place
Yes
There is no Alfredos on Caribbean princess, but you book the sanctuary when you get on ship
Did you have other family or friends with you in the sanctuary?
We spent the day with the bride and groom, we also had parents that joined us. So yep, there was a few of us.
The cabanas are so much nicer on Royal Class ships.
We’ll have to check them out when we can get on one of those ships. Maybe this fall.
