Planning for the Normandy landing took 18 months. They also needed five times as many troops to invade and dominate. With forces for both sea and air that exceed your enemy. Also, they were only 20-50 miles from their own fortress. They expected 20k casualties and were surprised at only 5k deaths.

I am not sured I would want to cause trouble in the United States of America as a hostile invader. After the terrorist attacks they had in 2001, a lot of the citizens are itching to put a terrorist on a slab. Citizens have little effect on an air attack. The biggest obstacle to landing troops on American shores is simply getting them there.
No country currently has enough troop carriers to put an effective number of troops on our shores.
    Even if they were unopposed.
And the distances to the US are long enough that one would have to land enough troops to establish and maintain a beachhead for an the time it takes for the transports to go and pick up more troops and return, repeating until sufficient forces and equipment and supplies were landed for the force to proceed inland, against fierce opposition.
The reality is that the chance of transports making it to shore against Naval and Air opposition is pretty much zero.

Even the US Military is not equipped to invade the US. Amphibious invasion of a "peer" military is nearly impossible because you cannot assemble and move that many ships, unnoticed and even having enough transport ships to establish a meaningful beakhead is a challenge since you would need something on the scale of overlord just to get a toehold to capture some ports and airfields. I don't know if I should laugh.. or cry at the assertion the USA cannot be invaded.. First off I am former active duty US Navy. Medically Retired 2014 due to 5 major service connected disabling injuries. Part of my career involved battle planning and management. I don't know who the "experts" are that were used for this video, but if they were actually real "experts", they would have mentioned the most likely way we will be attacked and potentially invaded in the future... which would leave us open to invasion if successful. How you ask? Well, I won't give away everything due to I am still bound by my oath of service but I can tell you the basics (and everything I state CAN be looked up in public sources to verify what I write about) and my bet is a few lightbulbs turn on when I do.
    PART #1
A kinetic and landing invasion attack is not going to happen on its own. Wars today are NOT done using WWII tactics and means. Even the US Marines and their tactics have changed when it comes to beach infiltration situations. So how would an enemy do it? I am going to use a conflict between china and the USA as my 'example'. And here is the first BIG mistake so many "experts" make when it comes to china. People claim china has a small fleet of obsolete ships. Well, all you "experts" are so wrong it is not even close to reality. A whole lot of "experts" need to go back and do some major research. china has over 400 combat warships, ALL modernized. They are right now CONTINUING to build up their forces at paces not seen since hitler and nazi germany in the 1930's. More so, the chinese have clearly either stolen or been given the plans to most of our top end tech like the AEGIS battle management system our navy uses, like submarine tech that has moved them from 20 years behind us to nearly on par in submarine tech, to both the F-22 and F-35 stealth fighters and so so much more.
china no longer needs the USA in reality. They have formed BRICS with over 160 OTHER nations. china no longer holds US debt anywhere near what they held even 10 years ago either, something a lot of people are completely clueless about.
They USA has around 175,000 active duty US Marines. Those are NOT all COMBAT oriented but total. Perhaps 1/2 are combat oriented. The rest are support or other positions. (this is true for the rest of what I write about). The US Army has about 470,000 Active Duty troops, again the same thing about support vs combat oriented applies. US Air Force ~325,000. The US Space Force ~15,000 and the US Navy ~1.5 million members. Basically we have about a total of 2.7 MILLION Active Duty US Military, support oriented and combat oriented combined. We have ~1.29 million reserves and about ~450,000 National Guard that can be federalized in time of war.
Now let's talk china... Active duty, they have ~2.1 million combat troops and another ~1.2 million support military so a total of ~ 3.5 million or more. And because china has mandatory service, including mandatory reactivation in times of war, they have ready reserves estimated to be between 14 million and 25 million members. In essence for combat related troops, they have twice as many as the USA does and for reserves, well we have but a spit in the bucket to their number.
So with some of that out of the way, let's get to the actual meat of the issue...
if china intended to attack, the country would first build up a massive 400 or more naval combat force of warships (which china has already done and is still adding to as I write this. Everything from FFG's to CG's and on to the big boys, assault carriers and Ford sized Aircraft Carriers of which only two countries in the world have built and have on active duty right now.. the USA.. and china. china has 3 ski jump carriers active duty right now. They have already floated 3 of their new full on aircraft carriers, nearly the same size of the newest USA carrier, the USS Ford. AND theirs also has EMALS installed. As of this writing, 1 is in full service, the 2nd is near ready and the 3rd is afloat and being fitted out with 4, 5 and 6 under fast construction. Current data has 6 of this class under current build out plans for their Navy but that is best estimate by REAL experts. And while it takes the USA between 8-12 years to build ONE carrier, china is building them out in 2-3 years max. So they have built their main battle force of ships. What's next?
Now, they build their amphibious fleet. That will include ships like the assault carriers that can carry entire battalions of Marines (We USA have 11 of these in service) of the type china has been build for the last 3-4 years and plans on a couple dozen when finished. The invading country ALSO would build ROLO and RORO ships by the dozens. Basically standard merchant and container carrying ships specifically build to support military operations.. i.e. not just troops but trucks, armor, ammo and much more.
So we have covered the actual naval invasion fleet basic makeup you would need to invade the USA. And let's figure china would create 3 distinct combat action groups around each of their new aircraft carriers. AND they create 3 full action combat groups around TWO carriers per fleet, combined with a say 4 Assault carriers and 20 RORO/ROLO ships packed with even more equipment, armor and troops. Additionally each of the main fleets would also have upward of say 100 of those merchant class containers ships that china has now built a couple thousand of for real.

    • @Malakie
      @Malakie День тому

      Part #2
So, how do they actually proceed with all that ready to go?
They take 3 of those dual CV task forces, have them escorted by one of the combat action task forces headed by their main carriers and you send them to see and let them get "lost". And yes, it is very much possible for even the USA to lose tracking on ships and fleets. Make NO mistake on that. After those fleets put see and get lost on the planet somewhere, you sent 100 of those merchant container ships to EACH COAST of the USA. 100 on the east coast, 100 in the Gulf and 100 on the west coast. You have them straggle in over a couple weeks, likely even keeping them outside the 12 mile limit which is international waters. Any given day, we have 150 to 350 of merchant ships of various types off EACH of our 3 blue water coasts. So unless they were in formation as one fleet sitting off our coast, no one is going to worry about or question incoming merchant ships as they come in closer to the USA coasts. In fact if they really wanted to, they could remain a couple hundreds miles off our coast and likely 98% of them would never even be detected.
Now why would they do this?
Well, because just like the USA, countries like china also have what we call 4 pack containers. i.e. cruise missile launchers on launchers that hold 4 missiles each.. and note they can be reloaded rather quickly even. A container opens, the launcher elevates, fires the 4 missiles, closed back up and once again looks like a normal shipping container and also possibly reloaded quickly for another round. (Note also these containers can also be internally fitting out for Anti Air defense, for housing troops for the journey, for supplies for combat etc etc etc.)
Now let's just use the west coast for this next part. You have 100 ships scattered in no apparent pattern all up and down the west coast out at sea anywhere from 12 miles to 200 or more miles. All innocent looking container ships, which as I said, we have hundreds of them every single day off the coast already. At the same time those naval task forces I was talking about have now slowly moved into specific locations, with a good chance of still not having been detected. (the oceans are MASSIVE and unless you have served in the Navy as I have, you cannot really understand just how small a ship is in the middle of the ocean - think grain of sand you would have to find.. one specific grain, along the entire west coast for example.
So, all these ships are now in position. How do they invade? Well first, those 100 container ships open up the top layers of those containers (the average ship will have 200 to 300 for each layer but we only need the top layer for the moment) and EACH ship fires lets say 100 containers. That 400 cruise missiles for each ship. 400 x 100 = 40,000 cruise missiles. just from the 100 west coast container ships. Now add those also fired from the gulf coast and the east coast and you get upward of 120,000 cruise missies. Mark my words I AM being conservative also.
Those cruise missiles are going to be a mix of HE (high explosive), AP or Bunker (armor piercing bunker buster) or EMP (electromagnetic pulse). And those 120,000 cruise missiles will be targeting our infrastructure like telecommunications, fuel, transport (bridges, cargo centers etc), military bases of course, communication HUBS, and worse they will hit every power plant and substation we have in the USA. There are an estimated ~12,500 power plants in the USA, and maybe double that for major hub substations. Each of these targets is hit with 10-20 cruise missiles and the EMP's most likely being added in to those striking telecom, radio, TV and of course electrical substations and power plants.
That means instantly loss of ALL grid power in the USA. Loss of all communications of any kind in the USA. Bridges out, transportation of all kinds out and so forth.. which means no more food, clean water, MEDICINE, medical care. Which also means no way to get fire trucks, police, ambulances where needed even.
And before someone thinks we could maybe shoot a lot of those cruise missiles down.. not a snowballs chance would be be able to do that. Why? Because we literally have NO, NONE, NADDA, ZILCH, defenses at all on our borders that could automatically engage Nap of the Earth terrain following cruise missiles. But worse, by the time we even realize there are incoming cruise missiles, it would be too late because they would already be striking the aforementioned communications etc needed to alert the military. How do you call military to duty when there are no cell phones or landlines that work? No bridges so they can drive to the bases? and so on?

    • @Malakie
      @Malakie День тому

      Part #3
And this is NOT the worst part. In fact the scenario I just painted is BEST case scenario.. for US. Take those 100 containers ships off each coast. What if in fact those 'containers' are NOT containers at all but fake? Why are they fake? Because the ships themselves have full VLS launch packs. We are talking upward of 500 or more VLS cells PER ship. Those fake containers open up and the VLS system launches all the cells in minutes before we even know an attack has started. But we are here to talk about the invasion part ...
So how do they now invade? Well, they just knocked down to our knees. Infrastructure is toast. Communications is toast. Most military will attempt to reach their bases. But that is going to take TIME. Organization will be non existent for at least a day or more as bases finally start bringing combat systems online. (note also there won't be SATS anymore - did you forget about all those task forces fill with combat ships? The SATS will be shot down at the same time the cruise missile strikes take place)
So those task forces. One will likely put anywhere from 200,000 to 500,000 troops and armor into Alaska to take the oil fields.. and we won't be able to use direct attack right away for fear of igniting those oil fields. Another task force will likely go into Mexico in the gulf AND on the pacific side to surge up into the US center to split the country. Finally, the remaining task forces will put troops in on the east and west coasts enmasse. They will move to take airfields for the following movement of the other 2 million ACTIVE duty chinese army troops being flown in or shipped on on a couple thousand merchant class warships. NOTE this is not happening days after the cruise missile strikes, it is happening within HOURS of it happening.
Now remember I also said there would be a bunch of these ships assigned to each taskforce? Why? Because they will be used for follow on attacks against US Military units that start to move and/or deploy, including airbases not hit or where protected aircraft were based.
china would concentrate on first taking control of major seaports and airports and the moment they have those RORO and ROLO ships waiting at sea would come in and unload tanks, armor and troops. Follow on containers ships would arrive with containers full of additional supplies.
But what about the US Navy? Well, china now has 4x the number of active combat ships of the US Navy.. and this current regime we have is STILL MOTHBALLING Naval ships. Not to mention, this regime already removed ALL TANKS from the entire US Marine corp and has done a whole lot more damage through out our military forces. (look it up, this is not a joke)
The US Navy would have no choice but to attempt to break through the enemy naval taskgroups to stop additional attacks.. and even if the US Navy somehow was able to get back to all three coasts, THAT is where they would have to remain to insure no more supplies or troops than what are already landed, could come in by sea. However again, we no longer have the naval forces to do this anymore.
In fact some of you may have noted I did not even mention chinas brand new modern attack submarine fleet.. Well, mark my words they won't be doing nothing. While those task forces are moving around the globe hiding at sea, those subs will be stationing themselves in locations to interdict US ships once the go code is given. They will prioritize carriers (CVN and LHA) and any other combat surface vessels they can take out on a first strike.
Sadly some have been trying to warn the people of this potential situation. china is well into its 100 year plan and if you have studied chinese history and warfare, you know exactly what that means. We are right now in that bullseye.
If what I wrote scares you, it should. it terrifies me and I have worn the uniform honorably for the US Navy... and should the worst come to pass and I am needed again, I will do so again.. even as a medically retired disabled Veteran.
BTW, don't just take my word for what I wrote. Everything can be checked and verified. And while most numbers are estimates based on public information, that is not the point of this discussion. The point is china now massively outweighs the USA militarily in size across the board. And while some will argue that our "technology" will win the day, many of us in the know and trained in this stuff, know better. Technology will help, have no doubt on that. But there is an old saying that you should consider. I don't remember who made this quote but here it is, "In battle Quantity has a Quality all of its own..."
