What is difference between agarwood n sandalwood?
I just bought a 5ml bottle of South Pacific sandalwood oil for 25 USD. Just a little goes a long way and its always so comforting smelling if a bit simplistic. I don't think there's any sandalwood oil that i dislike. There's something so meditative about it. I don't mind javanol either (I have a 4ml sample of the aromachemical).

Another enjoyable episode. :Y I remember a Chinese we knew gifted my mom a foldable handfan made with Mysore sandalwood. Just stunning piece of work and smell. Recently, a gentle soul from India kindly sent me some Cauvery. It is a beautiful oil but as you said it doesn't last that long, probably due to lessar amount of fixatives in it (due to its 'age'). I have been trying to buy some (sample amount) from Ali Brothers since 2018 through friends/family members visiting India. But unable to due to their short stays. :( Hopefully soon.

Dear Nikhil, when I go to buy this sandal wood oil (which you showed and mentioned here) from Ali Brothers Perfumery , should I ask as Attar or as Essential oil? When I visited their site, I could see that the New 🔖tag for the sandal wood essential oil listed as New. If so, do they produce a new variety than you showed here? I bought that blue bottle of sandalwood oil from cauvery emporium when I was in Mysore earlier this year. However, i was so disappointed that it smelled very diluted. I could hardly smell the sandalwood notes
Thank you for this lovely, and informative episode on Sandalwood. I adore it too. Many years ago we could buy Sandalwood oil in Indian craft shops, and sometimes furniture too. We had no idea it would become endangered. There was also a lovely Sandalwood Fragrance simply called Mysore Sandalwood by Crabtree and Evelyn. I wish that I had kept some. I remember it. It's fixed in my olfactory memory. They did soap too. A few years ago I sampled Tom Ford Santal Blush and I really liked it, then a couple of days later I opened my closet and I was overwhelmed with nostalgia because there was a really beautiful Sandalwood coming from the sleeve of my jacket. So I'm so pleased that you have confirmed that Santal Blush is very close to good original oil, which means that my memory was right!

I just got a 10ml bottle of 1984 government pure mysore sandalwood. It's so beautiful. I also got a ML Ramnarain pure mysore sandalwood which is very lovely. I feel so lucky to be able to experience both of these. Thanks for your videos.

Thanks again for a wonderful video. Listening to your story of how it is part of ordinary life in India made me want to go back to basics and pursue just pure oils and wood/resin chips instead of endless testing of high end niche edp. and far more holistic and spiritual. I too prefer sandalwood to oud. Sandalwood as oil for direct application and oud from time to time as chips to burn and scent the house, jasmine and rose fresh cut or growing in the garden, that would be heaven on earth. But we had our first dusting of snow yesterday so it's more like cinnamon apple cider or chai latte, yep, life in the US.

Natural supposedly bUt i felt along with some others that they use some chemicals also as initial smell is headache inducing. Where are you located. Maybe buy from some reputed house

Superb take, thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this. Brought back memories of grandfather making a paste out of a solid block of Mysore sandalwood by rubbing on a specially made round stone block and using it to anoint the deities. That would leave a whiff of this noble smell almost all day long in the house.

Fortuitous video, I’ve been looking for a decent sandalwood.
Do you know how companies like fragrance samples work ,when it comes to limited run scents such as Areej le Dore . Do they have a direct supply deal or are they literally buying up bottles . I couldn’t get hold of a bottle of ,Ottoman Empire2 , but noticed fragrance samples selling it. I don’t want to miss out on ALD new collection next weekend. Doesn’t seem fair if they buy up what’s available and re sell it in sample bottles
Have you tried/ heard about Marayur sandalwood oil? I’ve heard it’s better than Mysore Sandal, any feedback and feedback would be much appreciated.

Bhai, i tried Ali Perfumers sandalwood. But im disapointed that its only the spicy and terpene smell projects for long time and extremely mild sandalwood smell.. Even if u put whole bottle on ur body i doubt i will noy get sandalwood smell..May b they hv given u a good sample..
