Ma-sha-Allah, a wonderful ode to Hindi oils. I have tried quite a few Hindi oils that had very little barn, hay or any animalic (if at all) in it. They are quite pleasant. But they don't speak to me like classically distilled Hindis. Classical are lot more complicated, multifaceted and pleasurable than those and other ouds from other regions. I especially adore my oils from Khagrachari (Chittagong Hill Tracts), Nagaland, Imphal, Manipur, Tripura and Srimangal-Sylhet areas. The way they unfold on skin is something special. The closest to these are the ones from Bhutan and Burma. I love all my oud oils as they have different purposes. However, if I am forced to pick only one, then it is Hindi. Not sure who said this or something similar - but "all oud oils leads to the Hindi" is an apt statement. جزاكم الله خيرًا يا أخي

Firstly, its important to note that no one ever distilled pure wild kinam oil to the best of my knowledge. Secondly, its all about how oil makes you feel and not its quality or rarity that makes its better. Thirdly, it really depends on your definition of "better" :)
It depends on many variables - your mood, the temperature, humidity, and importantly what you eat. (because of the smell of your sweat.) I have many different ouds and some I mix with other scents and others I wear alone. Papua NG oud is mind blowing if you like leather and polished wood notes. I also love rich, barnyard Hindi ouds.

Welcome. Yes indeed Jardine de Assam is the closest to this type of oud oil. But it is just a level one according to it's quality and price.
