We definitely need to slow down and appreciate the beauty of the natural world around us. My 5 year old grandson invited himself to my cottage on Saturday night. On Sunday after breakfast he joined me and my dogs for a walk in the local woods. He loved spending time finding dragons claws, dinosaur bones and holes in trees where the fairies live. Wonderful to see where his imagination took him ❤

Hi Colette! It's been a while since I've been able to see you here on YT - we've been so busy with our new house and property, transitioning from a New York life. Spring has come here in Pennsylvania, and we are obsessing about this year's planting. I am looking to make an understory under some of our trees, and we are starting a new meadow-like bed in the front of the house. I'm not sure what our neighbors will think of us, accustomed as they are to monoculture lawns. But we don't care! Thanks for being such an inspiration over these many years!

Well, my goodness, thank Heaven for you, Colette. I am sitting, here on this rainy Autumn morning in the Blue Mountains, Sydney, Australia. I tuned in to the news about Trump’s impending arrest etc. oh! My word, talk about noise and drama and a good way to spoil a beautiful, soft, Autumn morning 🤦🏼♀️ not that I’m a Trump devotee, by the way. So, I thought, I’ll bring my mind back to a peaceful space, I’ll watch Colette. Immediately, I sighed and thought, yes, that’s just what I need. Your sensible, quiet voice and the harmony of Bealtaine Cottage. I’m happy now. All the blare and bark of hyper news and the silly goings on of the world just vanishes when I hear your voice and learn how you have transformed your garden. I too have a rather boggy bit of land. Not all plants like to have wet feet. This property is on a hanging swamp with a creek that runs down the back. I’ve planted water loving trees and it is quite a hit and miss affair but I’ve learned a lot from you. Also, our Winters here in the Mountains are very frosty so I have to plant frost hardy plants. The ferns don’t seem to mind. Anyway, Colette I shall now stop rambling and continue to watch your videos. Blessings to you. 💚
Your garden always brings me such joy. I really love the view of the stars above ! That is amazing! You are so lucky to be able to see them so clearly as I imagine you have very little light pollution where you are. I have embraced 'slow living' more and more each day. I have observed so many of my friends tearing around, seemingly frittering up life just trying to keep themselves busy, sometimes to exhaustion, as thought they are almost afraid that their time is running out. I do the opposite and I feel better for it. Some of them look at me and can't see my enjoyment in solitude, gazing at the sky, watching nature in peace, slowing down to marvel at all around me. They whirl around busy with this or that, going here and there, passing by the beauty without even so much as a glance. 🪴🌳🌾🌹🌌🌞🐞

As this world becomes harder and harder to tolerate it is a blessing to reach out for something inspiring, uplifting and not based on lies ,greed and corruption. Hi Colette, had some snow a few days ago but quickly melted! Was nice to see though! Today went for a country stroll along the lanes of Pickenham in Norfolk, it was beautiful, the Spring daffodils were standing proud and in the distance were piglets with their mothers! What a serene place the pagoda is ...the stars and moonlight made it perfect . The weather has ups and downs in the Netherlands as well . Last wednesday there was hail from overnight in the shadow parts of the garden , saturday it was 16 ° and I could bask in the sun a little after gardenwork ... This week autumn seems to be back with a lot of rain and wind ... But the Magnolia is about to burst into flowers and the garden is coming back to life in all places after winter ... Thank you for sharing Colette ...bless you and all followers ....

Lovely. I appreciate the sounds of rushing water having grown up next to wild rivers in Indiana and now living on the Gulf Coast of Florida. I enjoyed sharing family stories this year about my Irish ancestors on St. Patrick's Day. Thank you for sharing your "slow living day".
