Creating railway modelling fire effects

BRM's (British Railway Modelling magazine) Howard Smith examines a selection of LED-powered fire animations for your model railway layout. He compares the various features of products produced for a variety of gauges: OO gauge, N scale and O gauge. These are a great way to add an interesting feature to your model railway.

The system flicks between the two to simulate fire.

Never heard of a reversed LED burning out, they just don't work until you change the polarity.

Some LEDs are very sensitive to reversed polarity, hence we had to mention it.
