Transcend uses this on some cards, in addition to the cute hieroglyphics
Hi,
This is d best explanation about d hidden n confusing truth about memory cards. U did a tremendous job. I just bought my new Sony a6300, which card I should buy for JPEG, raw n 4k recording ? What speed should be mentioned on card ? It should b U3 n Obeviously class 10 as u mentioned? Kindly help.
I want to buy 128GB.
128GB, 60 MB/s, U3 would be fine
This was great information. You saved me $200 from buying a card I didn't need.
Greetings from Calcutta, India.
No you tuber is so considerate of viewers' time so as to present a summary first. Thank you very much for such information rich video.
Best tutorial in youtube about SD Cards for cameras, I watched A LOT of videos before getting here, and the real valuable information was only in this video.
Thanks!
I really like how you did the summary in the beginning because that is sometimes what you're realy looking for, I watched the whole video though, thanks!
Thank you so much! This is the first time i understand the meanings of all these signs correctly and explains a lot off trouble i had with videography!
This is the clearest explaination about SD card in YT , thnks
2:52 are swapped
1 Megabyte=0.125 Megabits
8 Megabyte=1 Megabit
If you want to convert Megabytes to Megabits, multiply by 8.
To convert from megabits to Megabytes, divide by 8.
MBps,MB,MB/s=Megabyte
Mbps,Mb,Mb/s= Megabit
I hope this helped and if i’m wrong, let me know please
The last icon is not only about the bus interface but also about the file system. SCXC uses exFat, which allows for files larger than 4GB of size. This is the limit for SDHC on the other hand. Higher bitrate video cams require a SDXC card these days, therefore.
Thanks for that explanation.. I can now buy a SD card for my Canon 80D
This guy needs more recognition for this explanation.
Thanks man!
I would consider 75k views as some recognition :)
Thanks for the way you started the video, sometimes I just want that and no more.
hello Dear very nice video, i have two questions
1- in minute 3:47 when you compare, the comparison was for the recording speed or what exactly ?
2- i have an indoor IP camera what u recommend ?
Hi, thank you so much. This was very helpful. Question regarding CF card ( backup). I have the SD card but I need a backup CF I believe is called redundantfor backing up pictures but not sure what kind to buy. I only take photos not videos for Photography. Thank you in advance.
Hi,
Thank you for such a clear and amazingly well-explained video. You seem to have effortlessly made a quite confusing subject clearly understandable! [Admittedly, I had to rewind/ recap in a few places]. I feel I understand not only what I need for shooting the video I plan, but what'd work for other forms of recording. Thanks again.
Wonderful Review! Now I know what to buy!
Would you consider a SD or MicroSD with Adaptor? (Is there a difference?)
What would you consider for a Nikon D3400?
Thank you!
MircoSD are usually a bit more expensive so I would only get it if there is a reason for it.
so do you think is the same?
Good clear video on a subject that ha got more difficult over recent years
This is probably the most useful memory card related video on UA-cam. Thank you!!
Thank you so much! Your explanation is super in-depth. It sure helped a lot of us!
Thank you for explaining this to us. You speak very good English. Thank you for learning out language.
Now I know hat kind of microSD card my Lyfe shadow 4K action camera needs. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the explanation this help me a lot. I am looking at my cards and realize that I need better cards for my new 4K camera. Thank you so much.
Dear friend,
I am really enjoy your video about memory cards.
I bought Canon T7i in October 2017 (a couple months back). Which memory card should I buy to suit in this camera for photography?
Because I used Sandisk Ultra 20MB/s' SDHC 16GB after download to iPad or my desktop computers, the pictures are not sharp enough.
What reasons? Would you please explain to me.
Thanks.
Gioi
Very nice info given but my confusion is which card is best sdhc or sdxc and which is suits for canon eos 80d for for bird photography for Ras photos
Hi. Thanks for the video. Which memory cards for recording AVHCD format videos in 1080p? Mine is a Sony SDR10E Camcorder.
Excellent breakdown of the numbers. Very simple terms that even I understand. Good job.
great info!! I have a card that does not have a U# on it at all - must be an old card?
Thanks for this very "explicit" and helpful video. Regard this i do have a question such i do buy the same camera as yours, the Canon 80d with a 32GB Sandisk ULTRA, micro SDHC UHS-I card with adapter. Speed up to 98 MB/s., U1, A1. My problem is, during shooting photo's the main display shows: "Busy". What could be the problem with this card? I'm using as i said, the Canon 80D, so only Raw photo's and Full HD videos. Thank you for your answer.
What is the difference between SDHC and HDXC and does it make too much difference between extreme and extreme pro cards ...
It depends on your apllication. Older Canons can run only SDHC card, which are 32GB maximum. Newer cameras can run SDXC which are larger than 32.
Check out your user manual to know does your camera handle both SDHC and SDXC or only SDHC.
GREAT 👍🏻 VIDEO!!!
I just got my NIKON B500 it came with the 16GB 48MB Sandisk Ultra So If I’m understanding you correctly this Memory Card is fine for beginners like myself. While strictly just taking pictures?? 🤔🤔🤔
Your saying for me to do Videos say to post on Utube..Which I’m trying to learn how to do in HD or any Video my Memory Card needs to be at least a 32GB? Is this correct??🤔🤔 Did I understand you correctly?? 🤔 This is my first really updated new camera and slowly learning how to set it up and use it!! So I don’t want to do anything to mess the camera up 🤔 Thank you any and all advice in advance much appreciated..
Thank You 😊 Shey
Don't forget the number on the front of the card is the read speed. A Sandisk might be marked 90 MB/S but that is the read speed. The write speed might only be 60 MB/S.
Very good explanation! Thank you! ☺️
Thank you SO MUCH! I had been so confused and frustrated as to why my Canon 700D keeps stopping the recording automatically after 2-3 minutes on average, even though all the tutorials said it would be fine as long as you use a brand name class SD card higher than class 6 and format your card before filming. Both SD cards I use (which were recommended to me in the store) were mentioned in your video: SanDisk Ultra 16 GB class 10 SDHC I 30MB/s reading speed (now I know it's only the reading speed!) and the SanDisk Ultra 32 GB class 10 SDHC I 80MB/s reading speed. They should be fine according to what's floating around on the internet, but obviously they were not. Thank you for explaining it in detail! I will get a new SD card asap :).
Yeah, just get a U1 card. They aren't much more expensive either.
Great explanation for a beginner like me, thanks!!
Hi! I recently bought Canon g7x mark 2. For travel video and photography which Sd would u recommend ?
Thank you. One of the best explanations of this confusing topic.
Thank you so much that’s clear a lot of Confusion when buying SD card you are Amazing.
thanks for your tutorial! I have a EOS rebel T5i, and a memory card Sandisk Ultra - Flash 16 GB - MicroSDHC UHS-I . I used before for made a video, but right now, doesn't work any more. I really don't know if memory card problem or something else. I also change the settings unsuccessfully. I'll appreciate your help.
I would like to ask your opinion what sd card to buy for my fujifilm xt2??? I do photography and video recording while traveling?anysuggestion please...thanks
Hi, I want to ask, can I use U1 SD card(SDXC) in SDHC-supported devices?
SDXC Cards Don’t work in SDHC slots
Only SDXC slots
Thanks for the great explanation.. I getting into photography and this explanations the symbols on these cards really helped me out on understanding the basics of the hardware...
Well done. What a pity I didn't find your video before crawling through tens of webpages to work all this out! You've confirmed my findings though. However, you could do with little more explanation on UHS-I and UHS-II.
May I ask your opinion? I transfer files off of my SD cards with a card reader, but the fastest transfers I can get are 15mb/s. I'm sure that the usb buss and card reader are usb 2.0, what speeds should I be getting off of ultras or extremes around 80mbs? Thanks.
You need to get a USB3 reader..
@@stevebergman6431 Depends if both devices are made to use those speeds a laptop or computer needs to have USB 3 and the camera needs to be UHS-I.
Amazing video. Thank you so much for the clarity! Do you by any chance have a recommendation for wedding/similar day long event videographers of 1 high quality card for the day vs. multiple smaller cards? (budget no issue)
Is SanDisk Extreme PRO SD UHS-II maybe what I'm after?
Excellent video. Thanks a lot for providing such a detailed comparison.
I have a Nikon D3000 camera, I normally take single photo shot and regular video, which sd card you recommend, thank you!
I recently bought a Canon Vixia HF G40 HD to shoot commercials and I have a Retina Mac. Which SD card would you recommend? Thank you.
Hi! Love the video~ I have a quick question.. I'm getting the sony AX33 camcorder and I'm planning on getting the lexar 128gb 150mb/s uhs-II
Do you think it's advisable to use it since I'm wanting to do some 4k videos ?
Hope you can help!
Thank you sooooo much now I know what card to buy for my camera and what I wanna do... Amazing detailed video loved it !!! Keep them coming !!!!
Hi would you mind advice me what type of memory card should buy for shooting videos via Mobile ?? Thanks in advance👍
Very good and slow explanation! Too useful
I shoot RAW (single shot) and use a PNY 64GB 95 MB/s SDXC 10 I U3 card. Works just fine. I haven't had any issues writing JPEG to it in burst mode with my Sony a6300 either. Not sure I've come across a time when I've used burst with RAW or RAW + JPEG.
Hello I hope that you can answer my question. I recently purchased an action camera the Akaso Brave 4 and I'm trying to figure out what type of 64GB micro SD card do I need. I would like to be able to record video in 4K, but some people are telling me that the Akaso Brave 4 does not record in reel 4K. I don't know what that means because the camera has the option to record in 4K, 2K and 1080p HD and 720p HD. So I hope you know what I am talking about and I hope that you can recommend a 64GB micro SD card that I should use with my Akaso Brave 4 action camera, that will give me the best video quality when I am recording. Weather it be in HD or 4K, thank you so much I appreciate your time and I hope to hear back from you soon!*
Great video! Nice explication! :) Congrats! I have one Sony HX300, what is the best card?
Not only that I'm new, but I'm so not smart, lol I just bought canon t6i, and I want to buy extra SD card, but the speed on the card is confusing me, with price differences. This video help better than others video I've watched. Thank you 😘
Knowing how to get the knowledge you need is a way of smartness too ;)
This video is exactly what I was looking for! It is clear and very well explained 👍🏻 Thank you very much for making this videos 😇
dudeeeeeeeeeee I love this video thank you so much! Quick question, would something similar apply when buying SD cards for recording devices? Thanks!
Best video about memory card details...thank you so much
Which kit will be best for sony fdr 3000 camera? Movies and photos in 4K?THx :)
Hi, amazing video!! What do you recommend for a Canon EOS rebel t6
U1 card.
Hi great video but I'm still a little confused.
I want to pick up a SJCAM SJ5000X Elite Sports Action Camera Full HD 4K 1080P 12MP and am unsure which card should I should for it.
Reviews and recommendations for the camera state that I should be going for a 32GB class 10 card as anything higher will require formatting which is something I don't wish to do.
Suggestions please, many thanks.
Take a U3 card
Thank you
Very informative video, thank you.
Thank you so much for this!
Quick question: I have a Canon 80d crop sensor camera. Can I use a 4k memory card like the SanDisk Extreme 60mb/s 3 Class 10 for 1080hd video as well? Or is it too much for the camera and I should just stick to at least 32gb 30mb/s class 10?
You need a U1 card. That's all that matters. Don't take a class 10 that isn't U1.
Also, would there be a difference in my rushes when I compare an HD video shot with a class 4 sd card and one with the one you recommend?
That is the most well described video, thanks dude
Thank alot, Man .
Having trouble stop filming 1080p with my sandisk ultra with 48mb/s.
Now I know its card issue
Thank you thank you so much man. You saved me a lot of headache. I will go ahead and buy the extreme 128 GB for my camera. I think it's more than enough... My camera is not 4k capable, but I think it would be faster for videos nonetheless. I hate it when my videos lag when I take travel videos.
Thank you Sir. This was very helpull and easy to follow.
finallyyy straight to the point video, thanks for the useful info!!
very helpful video :)
Excellent Video, very informative and clean. Thanks for the intro summary too!!
Well done Sir! Hope you get enough traffic to earn some money too. As many here say, this is the best camera SD card explanation. I guess it's about the same if used on a smartphone
The video made me more than $500 so far so I definitely got a good compensation. Yes, it’s the same when used on a smartphone.
Whitch SD Card should I use for the CANON 70D when i want to record movies because the San Disk Ultra 80MB/s Class 10 always stoped the Movie. Do i need the Extreme or Extreme plus? Or is somthing wrong with my camera?
I have a canon 80d and I’m shooting long videos for blogging. What’s the very best SD card I can get.
Hi, I bought a SanDisk Extreme 64GB SDXC UHS-I Card on Amazon for my gh4. Reading and writing tested using speedout on pc is around 17mb/s. I need at least 25mb/s for a 4k video shoot. Is this a defective product?
hi, im little bit confused, you said that you recommend for 4k videography is 64gb with the speed of 60mb/s and class 10, but i plan to buy is that the speed is 90mb/s , is it ok or not? im beginner ✌,
The camera can use UHS-I cards, but since it is not compatible with the
UHS-I standard, reading/writing speeds will be equivalent to SD Speed
Class 10 at most. This is written on manual of canon 1300d. So does it mean sandisk extreme is not useful for canon 1300.?? Please help
Best video about this topic!
this guy just explained everything
ok need some help, i have a Canon t5 EOS and im using a Sandisk Extreme Plus 2kUHD SDHC 90mb/s class 10 32gb when recording on the top 2 highest quality settings, it seems to stop automatically recording after 12-15min of record time. Is there a way to by pass this? I feel I have the right card for this high quality recording
hi im a newbie in videography,. my camera keeps on stoping taking videos, i believe its because of the cheap free sd card that came with it. what is the best sd card to buy for a canon t3i to take the highest possible videos quality? with and without magic lantern and not to suffer from error or stoping issues. i hope you can guide me thanks alot and have a great day always!
Thank you very much. You have explained it for well.
This was explained quite clearly. Mind you, I was a software developer for 42.5 years, so I had better be able to understand bit/byte rates! ;0)
I already met professional videographers who didn't know the difference ;)
I have a Sena Prism Tube (motorbike action helmet cam). I use a 32 gb Kingston micro sd card and it's corrupt, I can't get it to work. What micro sd card should I get?
Thank you for such a good informative video
A very helpful video! Thank you very much!
what abput the new "V30" rating that SanDisk uses instead of the U1, U3 etc?
Not bought an SD card for years, so thanks for that. it helped a lot;-)
Thanks for giving me the info I needed right up front!
Hi! Is this the same with micro sd cards that have adaptors?
Damn! I made a mistake, when I already brought 34GB SanDisk Blue Memory Card. Thanks for your info! Very helpful.
This was a very helpful video! Thanks my dude!
Thank you. :) I have a much better understanding of what I'm looking at now. :)
Thanks a lot Dude for the detailed information
