Fine Silver is a soft metal that isn't durable for Jewellery. Sterling Silver is 925 ppm (92.5%) Fine Silver that is alloyed with 7.5% with other metals - usually copper - to make it harder and more durable. Annealing Sterling silver leaves Firestain which is the oxides of Copper created when heating the sterling silver. These oxides stain the sterling silver red or purple. When pickled firestained Sterling Silver reacts with the acid, removing some of the copper oxides, leaving a thin layer of Fine Silver, but underneath that firestain can still exist. So, to save time and work, Soham tumbled the piece to buff up that layer of fine silver and finish the surface.
That was a great idea folding the arrow over and putting all the cool textures ❤❤❤

Same here. The techniques he shows are always applicable to other pieces.
Thanks Soham that's fantastic. Take care and all the best. Stevie
I love the handy wooden tool you have. Makes great starter folds. I've tried to fold by hand and its very frustrating.
Lovely, as always. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your expertise.

Beautiful, Soham!
Really lovely piece 👌
Very nice !
I am grateful for my online mentor :) Thank you
I am glad to see that one of the men that I respect most in the jewelry field breaks a blade now and then.
you are not a jewellery until you break your blade!
I’ve picked up my saw and had the blade break, nowhere NEAR the piece! Lol
@@catzkeet4860 that is the name of the game. 😅

He used sterling for this piece because it’s more durable than fine silver. The pendant is for a child.
