My Dad did the FDUP CD2 course back in 67' and the entire class were all from the eastcoast FDUA. No gloves, wetsuits, no comms in the scuba phase, and a 190lbs of MKV Mod 1 gear on the standard diving phase. on 1 phase of the MKV training you were marched along the bottom and into a 15 foot mud hole and there you were left for almost 1/2 hour and no one spoke to you during this time, lots of fun but as my dad said , many of the students found this was a great time to have a good snooze. lots of good memories and certainly no bad ones. So the great stories go as told by him. hoo ya
My dad did this course in Esquimalt back in the 60's. I remember he told me they had to search for chains on the bottom of the harbour with blacked out face masks at night. Claustrophobics need not apply.
87 course....we weren't allowed to use our hands just legs in the swim! Awesome post thanks...best course ever!!!
Did the training in 1991. Loved it and proud of this achievement.
