One thing that makes me content every year with my things is our annual family summer trip. It is fine while we are there, because we have loads of fun spending a week camping in tents at a state park at the beach. Once we come home, though, using my own shower, climbing into my own soft bed, and enjoying moments without flies, mosquitoes, sand, and humidity are heavenly. I think sometimes we can be discontent because we are bored and just need a change of scenery.

Yes, it’s soo true! I noticed I feel one way, but after hours of doing yard work I go back to my space feeling completely different. It seems we just need stimulation in nature.

I'm done with my declutter journey I think. I threw away a lot of broken stuff and gave away my clothes that are too big or small. And it did inspire my family who I live with to do the same. I still own a lot of books and clothes but I don't think it makes sense to dump things on secondhand shops while I can actually still use it. Instead I truly need to focus on saving money. And practice being grateful for always having something to wear and read and use. Just having a quick look through my things or give things away if someone expresses a need is enough for now. Always decluttering is stressful too

I am happy with what I have! I do not buy much, just what I need. It makes me save more money. I love your hair btw.

I've had a lot of setbacks this year with online shopping (and we're only two months in). I go through phases where I let go of so many things, then I feel like I don't have anything at all. Finding a balance is difficult, but it's something I need to keep working on.

Dark orange is a good color on you! One of my own favorite colors for clothes too
I keep wanting to be more simplistic and minimalistic and just go with a black base and then have color over top of it. But then I keep getting drawn back to my yellow and orange clothes so it's hard for me to try to minimize my wardrobe. But I'm in a constant process of trying to get to LESS, and resist the urge to buy more!

Feel better! Advertising is the thing that makes me feel dissatisfied the most, and videos or shows that function like advertising (a lot of TV and YT!) I used to watch a home decorating channel a lot but it made me feel like everything in my house constantly needed to be improved and upgraded. It helps to get outside of our heads and get outside in nature, or spend more time helping other people.

I love the dresser! I have minimal furniture (all free) but find joy in repositioning it every now and then so it feels like I moved house. 😊

I m not a minimalist, but I m making a habit of knowing every little thing I have in my house, it makes buying or not buying easier. Love your perspective

This is such an important topic that you are sharing. I notice that it is so easy to compare and believe we need more to be happy. I honestly realize now that I am busier with work and since going on a decluttering phase I dont need much at all. I am focusing on reading more, journaling, and trying to break my habit of being on tech or looking at work emails.

Thank you for uploading. Something you touched on, if you don't buy these items gaining more stuff, equals less decluttering in the long run. I get by on little in my house, everything I have I use and need. Very frugal purchase BTW with the dresser looks great even with the piece missing. Enjoyed the video.

It is about our taste for beauty development and sense of atmosphere emerging, not only about the items functioning correctly.
I will sometimes freeze for years upon a completion of interior project, not knowing what I want any more. And then, suddenly, I know. And a new project kicks off. It is like I am spreading out of my body to my interiors.

Thank you for sharing your ideas and going deep on why we have things. This video has really touched my heart and mind. I'm going to have to really think about how these ideas apply to my need, not for new and exciting things, but for new and exciting things to do or become. A very thought provoking video.

It's funny how I've send you a comment about appreciation of what we have, was thinking about it myself for few hours and then you post this! Thank you a lot, as usual!
I'm only on my way now, but it helps to hide smth for a month and then discover it again for yourself. It works with toys for kids and with clothes of adult people X)

I feel this way too. Now I'm able to not ideal self with items I can really buy hardly anything and when I bringing too many stuff thrifted or even for free I can be aware of that. The only thing is still a pile of stuff from my big decluttering that brought me to minimalism stuff I need to go over sell and and a lot of work needs to be put into it. I think that also sometimes I'm too frugal like I don't invest in things because I know how much energy is afterwards especially decluttering it, I don't know maybe it's my age i just got tired of moving in between rentals also I find you spend seasons with stuff and usually one or a few seasons you're done with an object unless it's something big or very versatile or kind of objective . So it can also throw me to another extreme of not investing in anything physical and then be worn out by that and then just buying the wrong things or not putting enough research into what to buy or buy quality and that's just because of the overthinking of minimalism that can throw me to this fatigue
