Just feel it necessary to put that this video is just my opinion, as usual. This is by no means an objective look at the Pokemon anime lol so please don't be too upset
JPRPokeTrainer98 I’m not upset, wasn’t to crazy about the best wishes jab when you said the best part was when it ended but then you said “in all seriousness” letting me know you were joking and hey, I have a sense of humor.
Best part for each anime as follow Original the lines mainly team rocket and Brock Advanced the Battle Frontier DP Paul best Rival for Ash hand down Best wishes Ash Krookodilla XY the Battle SM Team Rocket Journey Epically Worst part Brock begin replaces with Trancey in Orange island Advanced generations Max but Ash Torkroal and the fillers are close second DP The one sided battle against Tobias in the league I hope Ash beat him in Journey Best Wishes they rewrote the story because the earthquake which I get but man is it bad that they have to XY Team Rocket but dishonourable mentions to Amourshiping mainly this is the reason I never ship character, and I think BirdkeeperToby had something to do with it,it was cringing looking online SM The Ultra Gundians episode Journey hard one but I go with the slow start.
They never said ash didnt know who Steven was team rocket actually mentioned they knew he was champion just cus ash wasnt like ph Steven how are u doesnt mean he doesnt know who he is
Holy crap your voice changed. I just watched your SoulSilver leveling method video from 7 years ago, then checked out your channel. I like the content, you just earned yourself another subscriber :)
In Pokémon Journeys, Ash feels like a experienced trainer and Pikachu isn’t reset, He even references different old battle strategies, like the electro web slingshot (not directly), and shifting electricity into the ground with Pikachu standing on its tail (directly).
@@JPRPokeTrainer98 Something I really hope they do in Journeys is bring back some "characters of the day". Especially want to see the pompadour guy from the Hoenn tournament episode again, I really liked him.
I enjoy the series so far mainly it begin epically I was worry about Gou caching a lot of Pokemon first but the Dragonite episode have my worry away and have a counter to it.
@@letsgetfluffy3138 Ash should have to back to Alola to defend his title against the most recent Alola League winner, Samurai. No joke though, a full 6 on 6 champion match where Ash goes up against a team of bug types would be amazing.
Yeah! But sad thing is that he just mentioned it to have a Piplup which is special. He didn't even bother say about Dawn or her Piplup more in the anime. That's where i agree, Kalos was really disconnected from other regions in that anime.
PokéJAKE thank you. Kalos is SO disconnected from everywhere else and he’s so different unlike Kanto where he gets better in Johto, then cocky in Hoenn then got over himself in Sinnoh etc & not to mention the fact someone always returns and then there’s just XY ???
For XYZ to work for continuity, the audience really have to make a lot of assumptions. This can be either a strength or a weakness depending on how you look at it.
But you’ve got to admit that the Johto Journeys theme was amazing. Also Diamond and Pearl was amazing. I was so mad when Ash lost to that bastard using legendaries I was so disappointed.
I agree with DP but johto was terrible apart from the league and legendary Pokémon episodes. I was rewatching the Pokémon anime as a whole and 95% of johto was literally a chore to watch.
I think the writers realized they only had a dozen episodes remaining to wrap-up the series, and they wrote in Tobias to be the one-off character that wiped the floor with Ash, and wins the league to end the league arc, to end the series with Ash, Dawn, and Brock’s future goals.
Johto Journeys theme was great. But it can't compare to the Indigo League, Johto League Champions, or Master Quest themes. Heck I'd even say the Orange Islands theme would give the Johto Journeys one tough competition.
One of the best things about the Advanced generation is that it gave the female travelling companion more to do in that May had contests. Giving May her own goal and campaign meant the anime had more than just gym battles to build up, and justified giving May focus episodes as well as her own rivals. For all the great things about her character, Misty was there because she didn’t have any better place to be, the reason of Ash owing her a bike being largely ignored.
@@giboit. Contests are better. The fact that contests have battles makes them instantly better than performances. Performances instead made the first round of contests the second round of performances, and the first round consisted of random tasks which coincidentally often required skills that Serena was good at. Although the second round of performances were much more visually appealing, the first round of contests more often had out-of-the-ordinary combinations that made your eyes widen. Also, this isn't a problem with performances themselves, but contests were much better-paced in the series that they were in. I mean, that's proven by the fact that you only need 3 keys to get into the master class whereas you needed 5 ribbons to get into the grand festival.
@@ultimatetrishbhatia True that! But the gen 3 games are underrated in general. It feels like everyone is nearly forgetting this games. But I guess this problem has every Nintendo franchise with their GBA games. While while talking about May: I really wish they could make a ebisode with a new appearance of her. I mean the last time she was shown was like 15 years ago. I really would appreciate it if they would do that. Funfact: She was my fictional crush when I was 9 years old xD
Yes, Hoenn Ash is probably my favorite design. It was the only design before Journeys (Not counting the AU Movies) that gave Ash an original design that wasn't based on a main character of the games.
Best of every series: Kanto/Johto- The comedy Hoenn/Kanto- Battle Frontier Sinnoh- The Sinnoh league (best series as well) Unova- The pacing Kalos- Serena Alola- Ash’s Pokemon Galar/Journeys- The continuity
One thing that makes the gen1 (kanto specifically) anime amazing apart from the other seasons is their “filler” episodes were so unique and cool, it didn’t feel like filler at all. Giant tentacruel? Ghost girl? Island of Giant Pokémon? Sinking of the SS Anne? So entertaining! I think the heavystory points weren’t as good as gen4 or gen6, but overall season 1 (kanto version) was better imo, because gen4/6 “filler” were pretty forgettable. Gen6 I just began skipping and waiting for story plot with ash-greninja/Team Flare. 4 and 6 had amazing stories, but were ignoring it half the time. Plus, gen1 has a pretty basic story plot nowadays, but at the time I’m sure people thought were hype (still had cool battles like against Blaine, sad ones like butterfree, etc).
Albab Imam I found SM filler, and the episodes in general, to be character heavy. Which is, alright, but not what you watch Pokémon for. Much better anime/TV shows for that kind of thing that do it better (and less annoying arcs). Not to mention, despite being character heavy, the characters are very forgettable. And what makes SM fall is that the actual challenge/battles/exploration feel lackluster overall, which is usually why you watch Pokémon over others. But it’s all opinions, and everyone has a favorite for specific reasons. The only anime I would consider “bad” was the BW anime, honestly.
Albab Imam SM fillers suck and they are forgettable. I would have quit the show there weren’t people on UA-cam telling me to wait for it to get good. first of all the fact Ash literally has no goals and if just running around doing nothing with his friends doesn’t make me excited for what’s going to happen next episode cus he has nothing to do next episodes anyway etc and the other characters aren’t even that interesting first of all if you took like the whole cast away and u left ONE of Ash’s friends the episode would still be interesting enough which means the other characters didn’t really impact that much anyway Take away Misty , May , Dawn etc the episode isn’t as great but the Great Brock is there so it’s not too bad. Can’t say the same for Serena the episodes she wasn’t there at the start of the show were really entertaining
The worst part of the Advanced Generation series for me was the VA casting change before the Battle Frontier season. I've gotten used to the current cast, but I didn't like the way TPCi handled it. The transition might've felt better if they had let 4Kids at least finish the entire series and waited til the DP series to make the change. It almost feels like the timing was intentional cuz they knew we'd watch it regardless if we wanted to find out how the AG series would conclude
XY and XYZ really got me re-hyped about Pokémon I had always played every game but over time as the anime got um gen 5ed I was less passionate and interested and then gen 6 came along and said actually we’re gonna have good story again and I am now so much more invested in Pokémon than I was for years just because they reawakened the joy of visiting the Pokémon world in the anime. Ash felt like a trainer who had experience he was smart and not to mention the fantastic animation for much of the series. It just made it feel more realistic. Of course they could have referenced more past things but at least he felt like an experienced trainer
I actually feel like the "takes itself too seriously" criticism applies more to Kalos than Sinnoh, Ash in that series is put on a little too much of a pedestal for my tastes. Agree with most of the video though
I agree with you and that's probably why everyone was so mad that they changed his personality in Sun and Moon when they didn't change anything. They just left him the same without too much seriousness
Muddposs I don’t think ash was soulless in XY he just got a lot more mature after unova. I think in journeys it’s a lot more balanced, he’s gets serious when the time comes but he is still the fun loving guy we know him for.
I always give this comparison so I'll give it here as well: Ash in XY felt more like a typical shonen protagonist rather than... Ash. In XY, he still had some moments that reminded us that this is Ash (mainly the comedy), but that's practically all eviscerated in XYZ.
There is a lot of substance between the seventh and eighth badges in Sinnoh. The Paul battle, Galactic episodes, Contests, evolving and catching Pokémon, etc
Yeah, I kind of find it annoying when people completely ignore all of that stuff. There's still a lot of filler, but it's not like there was an entire year's worth of filler in between the gyms.
Honestly, I liked how disconnected the Xy anime felt. It was more mature and was unanimously dubbed the best season of the Pokemon anime. (Pokemon 2019 hasn't finished yet, might take its crown) That being said, being separate does have the drawbacks mentioned, but with its exclusivity, it felt like an entirely different anime; it didn't feel like Pokemon. Instead, it felt like an emotional character-driven anime that happened to be Pokemon. That is what I believe it's greatest strength was. The flare arc was the best part hands down, but in terms of strengths and weaknesses, Xy felt like it's own entity which is ultimately both it's strongest and weakest point.
Yeah that’s my main problem with XY too... tbh it did start off as a Pokémon anime with Ash still acting like himself but following the first gym it just wasn’t Pokémon. Sometimes I wonder why the people who love XY so much for its maturity still watch the anime cause all they do is compare it to XY even tho SM is way better than XY but we aren’t getting into that cause that’s gonna start a whole debate.
Correction: The worst part of the Sinnoh anime was Tobias, who somehow went entirely unheard of throughout the whole time Ash and friends were travelling through Sinnoh, and then Tobias rocks up to the League with an overpowered Darkrai and Latios and wins because Ash winning a Pokémon League used to be a forbidden concept
this is mine Best OG: comedy AG: battle frontier DP: sinnoh league BW: team plasma arc; dawn's return XY: team flare arc; animation SM: alola league; handling serious issues like death directly for a comedy focused series Worst OG: animation AG: max DP: long interim between 7th and 8th gym despite the awesome battles in between BW: ash's reset XY: serena's long development SM: ash's art style change note: i like serena. she just took to long for my taste to actually get some development as she basically did nothing for a year.
@Yousef AL-Dulaijan This guy was really bold to say that since Serena fans get offended very easily these days :/ (and before I get death threats from some people (since they love to stalk us), i still like Serena)

My Ranking Of Every Pokemon Sub-Series: *The absolute best* 1: OG Series (Seasons 1-5) 2: Advanced Generation: (Seasons 6-9) 3: Pokémon Journeys (Season 23-present) 4: Diamond and Pearl: (Seasons 10-13) 5: Sun and Moon: (Seasons 19-22) 6: X and Y: (Seasons 17 and 18) *Absolute Worst* 7: Black and White: (Seasons 14-16)
Well I mean their involvement made sense. For starters, the entire crew was at Lumiose City for the Kalos League, the place Lysander began his operation. 2nd, Squishy was traveling with Bonnie, and since he’s extremely important to Team Flare, naturally they were gonna get dragged into it. 3rd Ash and Alain are the two best trainers there (besides the champions) so it’s almost a civil duty to fight for Kalos. 4th Alain was working with Team Flare, so there’s that connection too.
XY's worst is definitely the lack of the *_L E A G U E_* . All anime fans wait for like 2 and a half years for the league and the writers.. had time to make filler but not time to show the enitre league? "Well here's roundone and semi-finals and finals!"
JPRPokeTrainer98 when it comes to me, I view the Pokemon anime as one whole show like One Piece and Detective Conan (Case Closed) instead of multiple series like all Yu-Gi-Oh! series, mainly because the story is still centered on Ash's Journey to become a Pokemon Master, while I view Yu-Gi-Oh! and GX, 5D's, Zexal, Arc-V, VRAINS and Seven as multiple series because each of them center on a different main character each time, while with Pokemon, the story still revolves around Ash and Pikachu, instead of 7 series, I view them as 11 main story arcs: The Kanto Arc, The Orange Islands Arc, The Johto Arc, The Hoenn Arc, The Kanto Battle Frontier Arc, The Sinnoh Arc, The Unova Arc, The Decolore Islands Arc, The Kalos Arc, The Alola Arc and now The World Journeys Arc. Here's are my best and worst parts of each of the 11 story arcs: The Kanto and Johto Arcs: Best: The Comedy, and the snarky bond between the main four characters: Ash, Pikachu, Misty and Brock. Worst: The more mean-spirited episodes like The Path to the Pokemon League and Pokemon Scent-sation! The Orange Islands Arc: Best: Ash winning the Orange League and the Comedy (especially Brock scared of the mention of Professor Ivy). Worst: Brock left briefly. The Hoenn and Kanto Battle Frontier Arcs: Best: Max was funny. Worst: Misty left. The Sinnoh Arc: Best: Paul was cool, Barry was funny. Worst: The gap between the 7th and 8th gym badges was too long and not too much comedy until the Sinnoh League Victors portion of the arc. The Unova and Decolore Islands Arcs: Best: The last episode of the Decolore Islands were Ash, Pikachu and Alexa head off to Kalos and the Charizard reunion episode. Worst: Almost everything else about them, The Art Style Change, The Removal of the Old BGM that was from Kanto to Sinnoh, Ash and Pikachu reset, The Genesect Movie, The League, Team Rocket become more serious, etc. The Kalos Arc: Best: Pokemon's Battle Animation is fantastic, Serena was really cute and Team Rocket back to their comical selfs. Worst: Not too much Comedy, Another Art Style Change and Extremely Poor Continuity. The Alola Arc: Best: The comedy and continuity went back up drastically, Misty and Brock briefly returned, Ash finally won a regional Pokemon League, and arc feels the most fun to watch since the first three story arcs. Worst: Art Style changed again (although it works for the more comical tone, but the fact it changed for the 3rd time in a row still stands.). The World Journeys Arc (haven't seen too much of it yet, but my thoughts so far): Best: The continuity and Ash revisits old regions again. Worst: Ash's old companions still haven't reappeared yet and Art Style Changed Again for the 4th freaking time in a row.
well the end of Journey's is going to feel incredibly rushed by this point in time since they have the wrap up the entire tournament before they can ship Ash out to Paldea for the gen 9 anime
Worst of every series Kanto/Johto- The Kanto gym battles Hoenn- Max Sinnoh- The pacing Unova- The decolore islands Kalos- Ash had 3 flying types!!! Alola- The first season Journeys- I don’t have one.
Are you upset that Ash had a Talonflame that went talon to talon with one of the three legendary birds, a Noivern he raised from an egg, and a Hawlucha (not sure of the spelling) AKA the Luchidor pokemon?
It's hard for me to determine which is the worst part of each saga since most problems I have are present in the whole anime. So generally speaking I love watching the Pokemon interactions, battles and getting to see some great characters. But I dislike that Ash is still the protagonist, the static formulaic story that only started changing a bit in SM and the asspulls it usually pulls off.
Sun and Moon is no doubt the best generation in the anime. Everything feels so lively just as if you were traveling together with Ash in Alola. I'm surprised that people didn't liked the Ultra Beasts part of the show as I enjoyed watching them (probably because of their introduction in PoGo which got me curious about them). I haven't cried so much from an anime series up until that point.
I personally find the battle episodes to be my least favorite cause every time one happens someone on the internet starts complaining about how it should’ve ended like this or how it should’ve ended like that you don’t get drama like that with the filler episodes
Cameron vs Ash is not just my least favorite league battle in the entire anime it could easily be in my top 3 for least favorite battles in general. It just make me so salty and the decisions made are baffling. Like even after at gen 6 you can't help but wonder why they didn't go all the way and shoe horn in mega Lucario or alternatively and more fitting have Ash beat Cameron, have him challenge Virgil, and have Virgil's Eevee evolve into Sylveon. Anything is better than what we got.
I would never forget of Ash and his Ash - Greninja . I am still serching on him and his that how his Greninja would do mega evolution without any mega stone or key stone.
The reason the last 6 Johto episodes are in Season 6 is because, at the time, seasons were always 52 episodes. I don't know if this was a Kids WB mandate or what, but if you look at all the Kids WB seasons (2-8; Season 1 was first-run syndication, which meant there wasn't a dedicated network for it), they were all 52 episodes long. Season 5 went from Around the Whirlpool to You're a Star, Larvitar, which, if you subtract the banned Ice Cave episode, is 52 episodes. Season 6, at 52 episodes, went from Address Unown to Watt's with Wattson. This is also why Season 2 ended with Charizard Chills, Season 3 is the remainder of the Orange Islands plus Johto Journeys, and Season 8 contains the first few episodes of the Battle Frontier. When Pokemon moved to Cartoon Network/Pokemon USA took over the U.S. dubbing and distribution in 2006, they did away with this practice and now the season lengths differ.
To trim down and do what you did more here is my list, OG Series Best Part: heartwarming episodes examples include “pi kahuna, here comes the squirtle squad, and bye bye pikachu Worst Part: The filler, episodes like “the kangaskhan kid” and the episode where the Pokémon turn pink when they eat pink fruit are so stupid and are my least favorite episodes come from this series. AG series Best Part: Letting other characters feel like main characters other than just Ash, like May and her Contests and such. Worst Part: Max(why does he exist) I know the reason why but still whyyyyyyyy! Diamond and Pearl Series Best Part: Ash and Paul’s Rivalry Worst Part: The pacing Black and White Series: Team Rockets evil schemes and the team Plasma arc. Worst Part: the original story of the anime being scrapped and thus some abandoned plot points. X and Y series Best Part: The Team Flare Arc Worst Part: The Pacing Sun and Moon Best Part: I liked pretty much everything, nothing stands out as the best part, it’s all pretty darn good. Worst Part: The Ultra Guardians episodes
Chris Clack oh really then what relevance did the episode the kangaskhan kid have, that wasn’t filler? Um yes it was. It had no bearing, you could skip it and it wouldn’t change anything.
mr @@keetendailey4337 i don't think any of those pokemon anime episode aside from the orange island league are technically not filler episodes of the pokemon anime and i don't like being conredicked
@@mattiasolsson1523 They were not actually disconnected. His old friends came back; he revived his relationships with his older pokemon and with his old friends. He usually remembers his journeys he had been earlier. But in Kalos, there was no trace of that sort of. Even the Professor Oak and Ash's mother have been featured only at the last episode ! So I hope you are understanding it. There may had an incident where he remembers about a special Piplup (Dawn's Piplup) to his friends but still gives no more information about it and Dawn. That's why, for these much reasons, Pokémon XY was pretty disconnected from the rest of the anime content.
PokéJAKE I though you mean region are connected together? ( sorry for the writting ) But that dosen’t matter so much. XY was followed from the end of BW.
@UNKNOWN 2.0 Yes! That's a exception. Probably that may be the only one to say. But in other regions, there were several such instances and in Kalos, it was so little.
I do agree it was dissapointing. I expected Iris to return because it was always a tradition on the previous female companion to come back on a new series. It was still quite alright becuase they did bring Cilan back even if it was just for 1 episode 😊
For Kanto Best is comedy, simply gorgeous. Worst is, well, the insane amount of disgracefully *bad* episodes, that make you say "the heck did I just watch", like with half of the Gym Leaders' battles. For Orange Islands I am yet to rewatch. For Johto Best is character consistency; the main group interaction just feels great here, not that Kanto didn't, but Johto kept it with great care and even gave it a new look, sorta; not only the main cast, but all reoccurring and even single episode characters feel charismatic and funny enough. (Honourable mentions to both Team Rocket's arcs, specially the Whirl Islands one; and to Larvitar's character arc, which is simply beyond everything in quality, making careful mentions to psychological traumas in both concrete and abstract ways, with an immensely charismatic "protagonist") Worst is, the last battle in the League; the previous one with Gary was by far the best so far in the series, so the sequence of it should be just as good if not better, which didn't happen; the last 1 on 1 fight kinda saved it, but even then it's just meh. For Hoenn, which I'm still rewatching (Almost finishing Season 2) Best is May's character introduction and development; I simply love how they slowly handle her, and how different interaction she has with the group comparing to Misty; I always loved, loved and loved contests so her episodes are by far my favorites. (Honourable mention to Team Aqua/Magma's appearances and character presentations; I love both of the team's captains' dynamic, and I loved each and every episode they appeared so far; it's sad to know that all this isn't going to end well, but until now it's very good. Also, all of the main cast's Pokemon are REALLY lively with intense and unique personalities) Worst is, the devs decided to simply not use Woobafett 90% of time in Hoenn; I am genuinely angry, my poor blue blob; they even keep changing back and forth his voice actor, thinking I can't notice. I still haven't rewatched Sinnoh, Unova or Kalos, and am yet to watch Alola and Galar. I'm currently following Pokemon TV's rotation, and I plan to watch everything. At this pace, I think I'll reach Alola by end of next year, and gen 9 will probably have an anime already. Also, if anyone knows where to officially get japanese dubbed episodes, with english subs of course, I'd be glad to know.
My volume was down and when I heard the music I thought “mino monster 2?” Then I put the volume up and was like “oh” Any even remember the game mino monster 2
Your DP criticism is so.... wrong. The filler is one of the best aspects of DP. Sure not all of it is great but moments like the miltank farm, the gang getting lost in the maze with paul, the hunter j episodes... they're mostly all iconic. Also, hello? No mention of the upgrade contests got? Or how much more threatening all the rivals were???

Gen 1-2 era brings best jokes, mates and relevance between the lore and timeline. Chimchar line, the only monkey fans do not hate because all other monkey pokemons are widely hated. Gen 4 era movies were the best. Creation trio are only Pokemons to get the whole trilogy, no other iconic or mega-popular Pokemons were entitled by - not to mention each got an actual character development. Gen 5 Era dissapoints with how they treated Snivy. Really - give this snake girl more, she is awesome! Why she had lack of feats and used against opponents she woupd not beat at her current level, while other 2 starters got way better? I know Legendaries always become main protagonists in movies, still they couod give them more screentime in anime like they currently do.
I’ve never been a fan of the Pokémon anime, but this most recent series is incredible for so many reasons. My favorite part of it is that it expands upon so much stuff from the games. For example, we finally got to see what The move sucker punch looks like. We saw the story of Pichu evolving into Pikachu through friendship, which is it’s method of evolution in the game. I can go on and on and on
One of the best things I loved about the BW series was the return of many memorable characters like Cynthia Dawn Charizard Looker & Clair and also the fact that Ash shared alot of his past adventures to Iris and Cilan was so great to watch. That was the only missing thing I wanted in XYZ to happen was for Ash to share his past journeys to his companions but it’s still quite alright because they fixed that by bringing Cilan back even if it was just for one episode. Loved both series overall 💖
Migs Pogi. I like to see someone who give BW some praise for once. So much hate BW gives. I like BW a little, at least it keep the anime formula and what you just mention.
@@migspogi2097 best for me was Clay, Burgh and Roxie as well! Too bad there arent any full versions on youtube anymore. Just AMV which I'm not a fan of.
My biggest problem with journeys is it makes the pokemon world feel so small. There is no more travel in the anime not since kalos. In Alola it made sense to make it feel small and like a community and to jump from location to location rapidly because alola is a very tightly knit and well networked region. but broadening it out to the entire world and jumping around wildly ironically destroys the journey part of the series. It has its upsides but between that and the fact that I personally cannot stand Goh and his plot armor it makes it hard to watch for me personally.
The best part of Pokemon Anime series are catching Pokemon and evolved them from either Ash's team or one of his friends, but the worst bit is released one of the Pokemon from either Ash's team or one of his friends and not every Pokemon evolved liked Ash's Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Snivy, Oshawott and Rowlet for example thanks to the Japanese writers.
7:12 Hey, I gotta say. In the Hoenn anime, Steven was only in one episode. It's like: "Hey, Ash, do you remember Steven?" "Yeah, I met him for 5 minutes, like 10 years ago." I think we can give Ash a pass on this one.
Bro, there is something about Pokémon that makes me cry just talking about it. Like I don't even particularly like the anime (don't hate it) and if I watch any given episode it makes me cry. I've had tears just watching UA-camrs talk about Pokémon episodes. This is a phenomen that only happens in Pokémon it takes A LOT for other media to make me cry.

Seriously I actually like the flare arc more than the kalos League lol (what league only 2 important battles was there ash vs sawyer and ash vs Alain thats the kalos League 😂)
Easily the most overrated league. Only two battles stood out, and the rest were rushed as hell which kind of sucks because the league was built up for the entire series, and it ended up being lackluster.
My list from best to worst (that I've seen) 1. Xyz 2. Original 3. (Something) 4.(something) 5.(something) 6. Journeys (why can go catch pokemon without battling?) 7. Sun and moon (why did they add rotom DeX and sophocles?)
TPCI logic it's okay for Cartoon Network to show cruxification in Star Wars: The Clone Wars when jedi getting interrogating by the Seperatists by getting electrocuted while being tortured not the XY anime come on what's the point?
It's hard for me to go back and watch earlier episodes of Pokemon because while I can say I grew up watching pokemon, for Ash's adventures in Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn I watched interchangeably here and there. The Sinnoh saga is where I started to watch the anime more consistently then I stopped and picked back up the anime with the Kalos and continued with the Alola saga although I did see a few episodes of the Unova saga. So for me I've been spoiled by the gorgeous animation in X and Y and Sun and Moon so going back is hard because the animation can look like slide shows sometimes and I don't have much nostalgia to ignore that, so if I do go back the only that would keep me watching was curiosity which isn't as strong as nostalgia and a good storyline.
Hopefully one day the authors will bring back the same story and Ash’s personality and especially similar characters back to what Sinnoh and Kalos were and Brock, Paul, Gary, Tobias, Barry, back I didn’t like the alola story and Ash is really a clown idiot, no longer takes anything seriously and doesn’t Remind anyone of Sinnoh and Kalos Ash. Instead of hall matches, strong trainers, the Elite Four and the Pokemon League were taken to some school trilogy they threw it all in the trash. Sinnoh was the best so far and the evolution of Kalos Ash was the best. And I also liked the Management hoenn too. Alola would have been better if similar stories and characters had been used. Although I didn’t like the Kalos story much because it didn’t show old characters e.g. Brock, Paul, Gary Tobias Barry. But the mega-developments were great and Ash’s evolution was the best. But it was time for Ash to finally win the League where there were no strong trainers. and entered the league without 8 hall tokens. MegaDevelopments are stronger than Z moves. Or maybe it depends on how strong the Pokemon are. The Z movements were pretty cool. But the mega-developments are better. Sun and Moon is the worst season so far that feels like a reboot even if it isn’t. It was a boring season, really bad.Alola is lousy not made respecting the original no Reminiscent of any original trilogy. This is just my opinion.
I guess im in the minority that enjoyed 5th Gen. The games, the number of Pokemon there were, the mechanics, the music. And the anime was my personal favorite. It was like a reboot of Gen 1. So many favorite episodes I have of gen5 anime. Yeah I didn't like the Unova league arc either but the N arc made up for it.
?????? It concluded multiple story arcs in an epic and emotional way. The whole series was building up to this moment since the first mega evolution special series

the Pokemon journeys anime is in my opinion one of the best so far, we finally get to see ash have some more variety on his team, and he seems ACTUALLY experienced now. I'm excited to see where the series will go. (I swear if we don't see Serena again im going to stop liking Pokemon)
Actually it's good that Serena isn't coming back. How are you imagining relationship between them? I mean that Ash from XY and from Journeys have just completely different characters. In addition, art style is still bad, though it's better than Sun and Moon. In XY, Ash and Serena are both like 14y olds, while in the newest series Ash just feels like 10y old(8y old in Sun and Moon). Imagine getting 10y old childish Ash and mature 14y old Serena. That would be just awkward since Ash is a clown in the last two regions. Why can't people understand that? Writers are definitely gonna screw it up. In XY, Ash was like a Hero(2nd episode for example when he jumped from the tower to save Pikachu), while in the last 2 regions he is just an annoying 10y old who just talks of his friendship with his Pokemons. Everything is joke in the new series
@@hauw2409 Them being "different ages" should not be a problem to you. Misty and Brock both returned in SM and they were changed to fit the tone of the anime, and there were no problems there. Also, Ash has always and will always be a hero. Ash is no more of a hero in XY than he is in SM and JN. You'd have to be pretty dumb to think that Ash has lost his sense of heroism.
@@Wheeler07 what do you mean "should not be a problem to you". The way they changed Ash is already a big problem for me. If they change Serena in such a dumb way, that will be terrible for me. And calling someone dumb for their opinion. Nice done, buddy. You are calling me dumb even though you are the wrong one. Niceee. Any person with common sense can say that Ash from XY and from Journeys are different. Now he even looks like a side-characters at times. I want that XY Serena to return, and you are saying that it will no problem FOR ME if writers just change Serena. You can't even think in a logical way. Now ask yourself who really is the dumb one. I am sorry if I am too aggressive, but I really have no patience when it comes to people who don't even understand what is going on, but keep calling people dumb left and right just because others' opinions are different from theirs.
@@hauw2409 I called you dumb because you're for some reason under the impression that Ash is no longer a hero like he was in XY, even though that is outright false and not true in any way. That is not something that can be an opinion my guy. Them translating characters over is not as jarring of a difference as you think. At the end of the day, Serena would still act the EXACT same way as she did in XY. When Misty and Brock were put into SM, despite the different tone of the series, they still acted the same way, so you should not be worried that they will change Serena.
@@Wheeler07 I did say that Ash is not as heroic as he was in XY. That's true. Maybe I am seeing something that you are not? First try to understand things before doing conclusion. Dude, your logic is flawed again. Just because Misty and Brook were fine doesn't mean that Serena will be fine. Misty is Misty and Serena is Serena. You again can't see what I see. Ash is definitely different from XY. So will be Serena if they bring her back in Journeys. Why would Serena be acting the exact same way when Ash is not. Misty and Brook are not from XY, so you can't make them the example. Anyway, I don't see the meaning of our conversation. It is pretty much pointless. I just said that Serena's change will be a problem for me, but you are for some reasons trying to decide what is a problem for me and what is not. If it is fine for you, then great. It is your opinion and choice. Goodbye.
season 1 of the original series best parts ashes growth as a character cassidy and butches introduction and this was the first series the show started off on. original series season 2 best part cassidy and butches first episode reappearence when ash and charizard became friends again and the orange league multiparter arc and ash winning the orange league the real first pokemon league he ever won the alola league is the second league he ever won. best parts of seasons 3 4 and 5 of the original series:the lugia arc the lake of rage arc all 3 of the english dub openings how misty stopped being hateful and abusive to psyduck and became a nice character and how che was actually good friends with ash at this point rather then just following him untill he paid her back for her bike unlike how che originally did. sakura I like her. ashes bayleef and totodile were so cute and preciouse and misty's togepi as well.james lost his victrebells serves him right for trying to steal other people's pokemon that they had grown attached too especially ashes pikachu and lastly the episode gotta catch ya later.edit:and when ash beat Gary in the johto league and this 1 battling music toon that mainly played when ash got the upper hand in a battle against either a strong trainer like a gym leader or team rocket.and the mewtwo returns movie sequel special is fantastic 1 of my favorite season 4 episodes and is a great sequel to mewtwo returns its way better then mewtwo returns in my opinion.
Best part for each anime as follow
Original the lines mainly team rocket and Brock
Advanced the Battle Frontier
DP Paul best Rival for Ash hand down
Best wishes Ash Krookodilla
XY the Battle
SM Team Rocket
Journey Epically
Worst part
Brock begin replaces with Trancey in Orange island
Advanced generations Max but Ash Torkroal and the fillers are close second
DP The one sided battle against Tobias in the league I hope Ash beat him in Journey
Best Wishes they rewrote the story because the earthquake which I get but man is it bad that they have to
XY Team Rocket but dishonourable mentions to Amourshiping mainly this is the reason I never ship character, and I think BirdkeeperToby had something to do with it,it was cringing looking online
SM The Ultra Gundians episode
Journey hard one but I go with the slow start.
@ 6:43 devastated Is a understatement the Japanese UA-cam channel had 54k dislikes for the next episodes preview it was crazy
It's pretty refreshing to see his character mostly in-tact in the transition from Alola to Journeys, one of the best parts of the new series imo!
@@JPRPokeTrainer98 Something I really hope they do in Journeys is bring back some "characters of the day". Especially want to see the pompadour guy from the Hoenn tournament episode again, I really liked him.

@@gekkouga2828 the anime didn't for get they intentionally abandoned it
I agree about the XY continuity, I can only count like one moment of continuity where Ash references Dawn’s Piplup.
yeah in that aqaurium episode with the piplups
Yeah! But sad thing is that he just mentioned it to have a Piplup which is special. He didn't even bother say about Dawn or her Piplup more in the anime. That's where i agree, Kalos was really disconnected from other regions in that anime.
@@gekkouga2828 yeah you are right it did feel a little different from other regions
At least they used legendary instead of some normal trainer with normal Pokemon
I think the writers realized they only had a dozen episodes remaining to wrap-up the series, and they wrote in Tobias to be the one-off character that wiped the floor with Ash, and wins the league to end the league arc, to end the series with Ash, Dawn, and Brock’s future goals.
Johto Journeys theme was great. But it can't compare to the Indigo League, Johto League Champions, or Master Quest themes. Heck I'd even say the Orange Islands theme would give the Johto Journeys one tough competition.
It slaps
The best part about Pokemon to me right now is just the pure nostalgia when rewatching the older ones

May walked, so Dawn, Serena, etc. could run
Advanced generation and may are both very underrated imo
I honestly prefer Pokemon Performance by a wide margin.
While while talking about May:
I really wish they could make a ebisode with a new appearance of her. I mean the last time she was shown was like 15 years ago. I really would appreciate it if they would do that.
Funfact: She was my fictional crush when I was 9 years old xD
The Hoenn saga made the Brock and Ash's fashion choices GOOOOD.
Yes, Hoenn Ash is probably my favorite design. It was the only design before Journeys (Not counting the AU Movies) that gave Ash an original design that wasn't based on a main character of the games.

I agree, just a lot of the situations from the Season 1 fillers are so memorable and are a large part of why they're so beloved
They are some entertaining fillers in gen 4 and 6 but the kanto saga had more creative ideas
The early Pokémon series was a crazy year on its time.
Albab Imam SM fillers suck and they are forgettable. I would have quit the show there weren’t people on UA-cam telling me to wait for it to get good.
first of all the fact Ash literally has no goals and if just running around doing nothing with his friends doesn’t make me excited for what’s going to happen next episode cus he has nothing to do next episodes anyway etc
and the other characters aren’t even that interesting
first of all if you took like the whole cast away and u left ONE of Ash’s friends the episode would still be interesting enough which means the other characters didn’t really impact that much anyway
Take away Misty , May , Dawn etc the episode isn’t as great but the Great Brock is there so it’s not too bad.
Indeed
Personally I’m would say the worst thing about advanced generations would be Max.
Jwanie truth, unfortunately as you know they had no choice in the matter. The original VA’s I mean.
Josh Hallam max is actually funny. Underrated

Yeah cuz ash is supposed to be goofy and careful about his Pokemon not a competitive soulless person...
@@muddposs yup, he just a 10 years old. that's why I love SM
Muddposs I don’t think ash was soulless in XY he just got a lot more mature after unova. I think in journeys it’s a lot more balanced, he’s gets serious when the time comes but he is still the fun loving guy we know him for.
I always give this comparison so I'll give it here as well:
Ash in XY felt more like a typical shonen protagonist rather than... Ash. In XY, he still had some moments that reminded us that this is Ash (mainly the comedy), but that's practically all eviscerated in XYZ.
Yeah. I figured your criticism of XY would be continuity. I would have loved to see old characters
(Pokemon 2019 hasn't finished yet, might take its crown)
That being said, being separate does have the drawbacks mentioned, but with its exclusivity, it felt like an entirely different anime; it didn't feel like Pokemon.
Well It does have continuity
he got introduced to kalos by the lady he met in unova
Also some references to past eventos aswell
Tbh I prefer the more serious feel of the anime.
He subbed version of the XY/XYZ series is far better. They don't change the music and the voices are more intense in the correct moments.
@@mikeydowikey4140 you cant saySM is better than XY coz......This...is ...just....your....opinion :)

Ash and his friends at XYZ who are still kids helping to take down team flare: are we a joke to you!?
There were more reasons for Ash and his friends to help out in XYZ than in Sun&Moon though
We can all agree that everyone during the hoenn region had fashion sense
Here's are my best and worst parts of each of the 11 story arcs:
The Kanto and Johto Arcs:
Best: The Comedy, and the snarky bond between the main four characters: Ash, Pikachu, Misty and Brock.
Worst: The more mean-spirited episodes like The Path to the Pokemon League and Pokemon Scent-sation!
The Orange Islands Arc:
Best: Ash winning the Orange League and the Comedy (especially Brock scared of the mention of Professor Ivy).
Worst: Brock left briefly.
The Hoenn and Kanto Battle Frontier Arcs:
Best: Max was funny.
Worst: Misty left.
The Sinnoh Arc:
Best: Paul was cool, Barry was funny.
Worst: The gap between the 7th and 8th gym badges was too long and not too much comedy until the Sinnoh League Victors portion of the arc.
The Unova and Decolore Islands Arcs:
Best: The last episode of the Decolore Islands were Ash, Pikachu and Alexa head off to Kalos and the Charizard reunion episode.
Worst: Almost everything else about them, The Art Style Change, The Removal of the Old BGM that was from Kanto to Sinnoh, Ash and Pikachu reset, The Genesect Movie, The League, Team Rocket become more serious, etc.
The Kalos Arc:
Best: Pokemon's Battle Animation is fantastic, Serena was really cute and Team Rocket back to their comical selfs.
Worst: Not too much Comedy, Another Art Style Change and Extremely Poor Continuity.
The Alola Arc:
Best: The comedy and continuity went back up drastically, Misty and Brock briefly returned, Ash finally won a regional Pokemon League, and arc feels the most fun to watch since the first three story arcs.
Worst: Art Style changed again (although it works for the more comical tone, but the fact it changed for the 3rd time in a row still stands.).
The World Journeys Arc (haven't seen too much of it yet, but my thoughts so far):
Best: The continuity and Ash revisits old regions again.
Worst: Ash's old companions still haven't reappeared yet and Art Style Changed Again for the 4th freaking time in a row.
For Sun and Moon, the Ultra Gardian episodes should have included the Ultra Recon Squad as they seem to know more about Ultra Beasts than children
I always thought they were the same thing but a small bit diffrent because of multiverse shenanigans

Each Pokémon series has some flaw.
That’s how it is.
I hated the ultra beast episodes, but yeah sm is the Goat

Even though I like XY series, it was disconnected from rest of the regions and anime. You are truly right.
Aren’t all the region except Kanto and Johto are disconnected?
@@mattiasolsson1523
They were not actually disconnected.
PokéJAKE
I though you mean region are connected together? ( sorry for the writting )
But that dosen’t matter so much. XY was followed from the end of BW.
@UNKNOWN 2.0
Yes!
4:35 this is actually true in the games now due to hyper training and mints technically
I just want FLASHBACKS GALORE. I want to see Ash from XY in the new art style.
Screw flashbacks, I just want Serena to come back for a few episodes
Brendan Curry
I agree.
Can't wait for the BW flashback in the upcoming Iris return, because we know there will be a flashback from a magazine
Sun and moon arc with the alola ultra guardians. She needed teenagers with attitude 🤣🤣
For Kanto
Best is comedy, simply gorgeous.
Worst is, well, the insane amount of disgracefully *bad* episodes, that make you say "the heck did I just watch", like with half of the Gym Leaders' battles.
For Orange Islands
I am yet to rewatch.
For Johto
Best is character consistency; the main group interaction just feels great here, not that Kanto didn't, but Johto kept it with great care and even gave it a new look, sorta; not only the main cast, but all reoccurring and even single episode characters feel charismatic and funny enough. (Honourable mentions to both Team Rocket's arcs, specially the Whirl Islands one; and to Larvitar's character arc, which is simply beyond everything in quality, making careful mentions to psychological traumas in both concrete and abstract ways, with an immensely charismatic "protagonist")
Worst is, the last battle in the League; the previous one with Gary was by far the best so far in the series, so the sequence of it should be just as good if not better, which didn't happen; the last 1 on 1 fight kinda saved it, but even then it's just meh.
For Hoenn, which I'm still rewatching (Almost finishing Season 2)
Best is May's character introduction and development; I simply love how they slowly handle her, and how different interaction she has with the group comparing to Misty; I always loved, loved and loved contests so her episodes are by far my favorites. (Honourable mention to Team Aqua/Magma's appearances and character presentations; I love both of the team's captains' dynamic, and I loved each and every episode they appeared so far; it's sad to know that all this isn't going to end well, but until now it's very good. Also, all of the main cast's Pokemon are REALLY lively with intense and unique personalities)
Worst is, the devs decided to simply not use Woobafett 90% of time in Hoenn; I am genuinely angry, my poor blue blob; they even keep changing back and forth his voice actor, thinking I can't notice.

Then I put the volume up and was like “oh”

Your DP criticism is so.... wrong. The filler is one of the best aspects of DP. Sure not all of it is great but moments like the miltank farm, the gang getting lost in the maze with paul, the hunter j episodes... they're mostly all iconic. Also, hello?

It has the progress for this whole series.
1:21 and all these things exist or has happened in the games
Gens 1/2 had the BEST animation. The color is SO GOOD and it feels like an adventure. Misty and Brock are great, ney PERFECT people to bounce off Ash!
do you mean art style?? because the animation has definitely improved a whole lot in the newer seasons
You are confusing artsyle and animation bud
Best art style goes to BW sorry then the best animation is in XYZ 🔥
BOB IGOR RUINED STAR WARS NOT JUST KATHLEEN he means art style because Pokémon 1999’s animation in episode 2 genuinely made me laugh
@@BUBBLElofi oh God your young aren't you? Art style is part of animation. Animation is not just movement.
I would love for them to bring back Tournament Arcs. It was always fun to see all the unique matchups that happened.

It's like: "Hey, Ash, do you remember Steven?"
"Yeah, I met him for 5 minutes, like 10 years ago."

Great video!
thank you!
Where can you watch a lot of the newer stuff?
Imagine if May returned in X&Y to promote ORAS, it would've been awesome.

I can respect the underrated ship. Sadly her return didn't happen though because XY is so disconnected from the rest of the series.
Diamond and pearl xy and battle frontier was amazing
I loved the theme songs from the Kanto and Johto cartoons the best

Pretty much, dude got 5 pokemon and won a league. Ironically, Ash had 5 pokemon in Alola and won that league.
@@gandalfdoesntgiveaf1073 Technically he had six, since he still had Poipole/Naganadel's Pokeball, but at least Ash didn't forget to bring a sixth Pokemon to his battle and mess up the battle format like Cameron did
@@gandalfdoesntgiveaf1073 The Alola league finals were a 3 vs 3 so having 5 didn't even matter, and by the time he had the full battle with Kukui, Naganadel coincidentally came back out of nowhere so Ash could have 6 mons.

@@dakotadoyle7573 yeah maybe but i fear they could make goh the next protagonist.
TPCI logic it's okay for Cartoon Network to show cruxification in Star Wars: The Clone Wars when jedi getting interrogating by the Seperatists by getting electrocuted while being tortured not the XY anime come on what's the point?
Best thing ever is fat Pikachu. I miss my tubbychu
He came back with Ash's Pikachu being able to Gigantimax
Hopefully one day the authors will bring back the same story and Ash’s personality and especially similar characters back to what Sinnoh and Kalos were
and Brock, Paul, Gary, Tobias, Barry, back
I didn’t like the alola story and Ash is really a clown idiot, no longer takes anything seriously and doesn’t Remind anyone of Sinnoh and Kalos Ash.
Will Tobias still have his Action Replay Pokemon
Another bad thing about PJ is that Goh’s main pokemon isn’t getting enough focus!
5:44 What’s the title of the soundtrack?
I guess im in the minority that enjoyed 5th Gen. The games, the number of Pokemon there were, the mechanics, the music. And the anime was my personal favorite. It was like a reboot of Gen 1. So many favorite episodes I have of gen5 anime. Yeah I didn't like the Unova league arc either but the N arc made up for it.
I enjoyed the gen 5 anime, but that isn't saying much since I enjoyed every series of the anime
Team Flare arc the best one? In what universe?
The Team Flare arc was amazing
@@Ben-td3wi It was a waste of time, and thanks to it they rushed the league arc. Worst arc in the saga.

the Pokemon journeys anime is in my opinion one of the best so far, we finally get to see ash have some more variety on his team, and he seems ACTUALLY experienced now.
Goodbye.
