Can you imagine that Simone (Seemonuh for the correct Dutch pronounciation... But she herself has said that if people pronounce her name Seemon, it doesn't bother her) was pregnant during that 3-hour concert and still rocked everything even though she was quite nervous and super short on breath (yay pregnancy hormones messing up with the body)? Still impressed to this day. Yeah, singing Pergolesi's Stabat Mater Dolorosa (13th century piece) at a metal concert, and having the metalhead audience being 100% into it is quite something. In this piece, Simone is doing the soprano voice, and Floor the alto voice, so the lower range. You can hear, though, that Floor is no alto (she's a soprano with a darker tone than Simone), but, does it matter? Naaaaah. Beautiful performance all around. Epica also did a live CD thingy with more classical music, if you ever want to give it a listen. It's called The Classical Conspiracy (my fiancé loves their metal take on The Imperial March and In The Hall of the Mountain King). I'd love to see more Epica on your channel, too... ANd I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but Floor's first band, After Forever, you should check it out too! Dreamflight at PorgPower 2007 will blow your mind and I'm sure your crush on Floor will, once again, itensify with that one. Haha!

Try another Dutch female vocalist, Anneke Van Giersbergen. She has solo stuff you can try or her 1st band the Gathering or other metal projects like with Ayreon, the Gental Storm and her most recent metal band VUUR. A good start is with her Gental Storm project which is a prog metal band. She also sang with Floor Jansen in the Ayreon project and also was a special guest at an Epica concert singing with Simon Simmons. The dutch have such amazing vocalists. Also check out Sharon Den Adel from Within Temptation or Sharon with her side project called My Indigo. The Dutch rule!
long ago id tried taking singing lessons to sound like that (didnt really work but was fun) and the singing teacher said that since these metalheads started using classical voices she had more work. She was opposed to mix classic with rock but then she would be out of a job. So all her students brought these examples she had never heard of but o she thought: lets give the students what they want and i will bring them slowly more to the classical side. But then the opposite happened. The more metal she learned the more she was like: ok that is way cooler then boring classic.
Modeling companies would be smart to sign on these two ladies, even if only for cover shots. Actually, many of the women in the metal/rock world would be good choices.

If anyone wonders, the song is called "Stabat Mater" (obviously), this rendition was composed by Giovanni Batista Pergolesi and the text comes from a poem about the hurt the mother Mary felt about her son hanging on the cross. Yes, Simone and Floor are amazing, great talent, great skills. But when it comes to opera and metal together, you should definitely check the Queen of mixing both genres - Tarja Turunen. Check Phantom of the Opera with Nightwish, or something else of Nightwish's first five albums, or her solo career. She recently published her seventh album.
