    I love channel lock and use their 10 inch pump pliers all the time but their tools are notorious for rusting. I don't mind the rust on pliers, but on strippers it's a big no. Those strippers are half Milwaukee, half knipex.

    I almost bought the strippers to give them a go… but I had a feeling they weren’t going to open as far as the Knipex.
    Probably nice for the price though. Thanks for making the video 👍

    Haven't tried the new style channy's yet, but obviously love the made in USA factor! Have had the wire strippers for awhile now, wish the shears would open wider, but solid all in all 👍

    The strippers are similar to the knipex stripper but that slimmer front is a game changer, my knipex are good but the front is too wide

    I know you said you can’t pinch your fingers but I like to open them up all the way so the handles are touching and I use it to knock out a hole and then with one hand I can use gravity to slide them closed to then grab on to the piece and wiggle it out. I like the classic channel locks for what they are and it’s cool to see them evolving but at that point they’re competing against KNIPEX and I don’t think they have them beat 🤷‍♂️. I do like how it’s made in America though. The strippers seem good enough especially for someone’s first pair since it comes with wire to test it out on. That’s actually really cool

    I’ll try the strippers cause of the head. It looks like my knipex strippers but with the narrow head that I wish they would do. The channel locks can kick rocks especially since the added girth. What’s the point of that? Cobras are not chungus

    Hello American electrician. When we buy Chanel locks here (UK) they was made in USA now they say made in china!!! To b fair its the screwdriver that came in with the pump pliers thag says it. But i think the pump pliers from chanel lock sold in england are not made in USA. They was super strong the last pair i bought snapped!

    Channel Lock is basically the standard. Everyone else is a carbon copy trying to recreate the wheel. I'll have to try the these new channel lock pliers. My old pair would smash my fingers and well, working in the weather, they fall apart.

    • @justinkase1360
      @justinkase1360 6 місяців тому

      @@justinkase1360 When the chuck slips and you're giving it all you got to crack loose a back nut, and instead of breaking apart the connection, it slips and you jam your fingers between the handles in your palm.

      @@mcelfreshiii I guess I need to get my Channellocks in my hand and see if my finger ever ends up between the handles. I guess it is possible, it's just not a problem I've noticed in my work. Maybe I adjust my handles to be closer together than you do? When I'm really applying torque, I like the handles relatively close together.

      *used to be the standard* is what you meant. Knipex is the standard now and most anyone who uses pliers professionally knows it. Knipex caught Channel Lock lacking… not saying CL is junk, it’s just not the best 🤷🏽‍♂️

    They look unnecessarily chunky, unlike their normal pliers. I don't think I will ever leave the traditional Channellocks. They are great for hex items and more intuitive, don't grip round material like pipe as well, though. Still plenty for what I do and I have muscle memory. I HATE the Knipex jaw shape for general use. Flat jaw for me, thx.

    If Channellock went threadless on the screw shear, they would have me. I own the Knipex forged and while great quality, I still find myself using my cheaper smaller Kleins more often.
    The Cobras are obviously awesome. I have two sets of the 250mm. The one set is close to 6 years old and used daily at work. The teeth are woren to the point of slipping off round work. At $40 now a set its hard to swallow. I bought tradition Channellock back ups for like $20, cheaper and supporting Americans in this lousy economy.
    The speedgrip concept I feel is a missed mark. They could have made it look more traditional, offered dipped handles and not made it look like a childrens toy compared to the competition. I bet they function well but the design is lacking. The stamped USA Made is much better than the laser etched. I will stick with the traditional line up until things change.
