Because I have not gotten much time in BC there was still one ultra classic run I still had not gotten on, the Ashlu. I had seen so much footage over the years, especially of the first drop 50/50, but never gotten a chance to get in there. I finally was able to make it happen on a quick trip to Squamish before headed north. It most definitely did not disappoint! Although normally you get your first lap around 27-29cms, Pierce leading us down didn't realize it was 33 til we were already in there! Luckily that was still a fantastic flow, just a bit stouter when never having done it. That being said everything in there was so sick, and there were way more boofs and rapids than I thought. It's such a sick short section, and I can't wait to get back in there!

I lived in Squamish for about 6 months a few years ago, the area is a natural playground that has something for everyone. It's like an Adult Adventure Disney World. Great footage of this run.
As a fellow kayaker watching this, is like someone who likes folding paper airplanes watching a SpaceX rocket take off into space.
Much respect for your unattainable skills. A massive high five from Sweden, take care!
You can fold paper?! Teach me some tricks? I'm not close to that level of sophistication.
@@Chompchompyerded 😅👌🏻
That river is gorgeous
Squamish is paradise
Not often DJ sees a fresh and intimidating section. Special. I enjoyed seeing him look back after drops and then forward to see the next section. The POV captured this heightened awareness. Very cool. Gracias.
Beautiful canyon. Love that bedrock and huge slab boulders. Keep em coming.
Always enjoy your videos! Thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
I'm jealous of you what a gorgeous canyon to lay eyes on! The geology is just sick!
Great video. Saw you driving along the sea-to-sky with those pink boats!
I don’t know Dane you make that look awfully easy. Pure class. Thanks for the beautiful day and beautiful tour. Ashlu. fabulous 👏💥🙏
wow...that is sic....thanks for sharing! love the river running chat...pre rapid...scouting...nice...
So sick! This is a beautiful river thanks for the video 🤙
That looks sick! Awesome video bro 🤙🤙
Great vid thanks for getting me into kayaking
Awesome dude! So cool to see Pierce!
That looked like a fun and juicy run!
"a fish wood not even go down that"
Water looks heavy! Yall cleaned it. Thx for the tour...
Stunning scenery
Sweeet ride dude🤙 Great aesthetics too
Either right before or after you filmed here, a local paddler died on this run. He'd paddled it for many years.. river is no joke
50/50 is more like 1 in 3! That place looks amazing, so happy you can run it so that I can watch!
Psyching! It looks fun
always find this one scary as its a 'local run', and sometimes that means its sold as less intense than it really is, such a pretty run though
Beautiful glacial color reminds me of NZ
Dane is the guy👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏
He makes it look so easy.
Is the drop called 50/50 because your chances are 50/50 or is it named after the skateboard grind
The former, I believe. There's an old LLP video of him tallying successes vs failures on it!
50/50 rapids are usually named that because you can do the same move through it and get a different result each time. Or not idk
At the first fall, why are you guys taking the left lip? The line is straight to the wall. I would be terrified to get stuck under that right wall with that overhang!
Nice
Come back to Cali and get Devil's Postpile next season!
I need to!
@@danejacksonkayak the world needs that video 🤣 plus I want to see the cobra flip off boof-o-matic. The world needs this (no pressure) 🤣🤣 (seriously, you do you but it would be awesome)
As always, making it look easy. What boat did you use?
Stikine voyage???
Just got back. It was epic!
I miss rain
