Yes loved the information on what you do, helping the people there. I no they love you for what you are doing, I can see myself living like they do. and it’s about helping others people in the world, keep on flying have a great day see ya bye.
Terrific video Ryan. I got tired just watching you do all the different jobs associated with a flight like that. Especially in the hot humid weather conditions. Lots of mental and physical work. (And you were actually running between jobs as well...whew!) I'm in awe of all the camera positions and drone scenery shots you go to the effort of producing. Cheers and keep safe.
Ryan, You always have a good and procedural departure and arrival concept when flying the Kodiak. I have been trying to consider the best method of adopting this method in my PPL training in the 172. I really appreciate all your content, both Preflight, In the air, and On the ground, and it was great to see your family. Your son enjoyed seeing the cockpit and watching the G1000 PFD and MFD. I like the idea of showing your G1000 flight plan and I try to emulate and practice using Navi Graph and other On Line maps for practicing. May God Bless you and the ministry. I am considering purchasing your photo book. Moye W in Texas.
Hi Ryan, First and foremost, thanks for taking the time and trouble to film, edit and post these videos. For what is it worth, I prefer your normal format, in that you use all your cameras and edit and combine inside/outside/G1000 views, as opposed to the 360 video format you used recently. Also, I really like the on the ground videos, so if you have the time and energy, please continue posting more of them. I am a 1000 hour private, instrument rated pilot, based on New York. I recently retired after more than 39 years as an air traffic controller, which includes around 6 years as a flight service weather briefer, a couple of years in an enroute air traffic control center with the rest in a VFR Air Traffic Control Tower. With this background, I am fascinated with the whole concept of VFR/IFR flying in PNG. Watching your videos, I am often sitting on the edge of my seat, especially when you are flying near low visibility areas in rain. While I choose the path of least resistance, I commend you for going in the opposite direction, fielding and overcoming obstacles and achieving your goals. Thanks, Jon
Thanks for showing us more than just the glamor of flying. Sometimes there's manual labor involved in most jobs. These videos make it more realistic and relatable.
Ryan, As one who spent their career landing a B747 on a 10,000 foot runway with an approach speed of 150 kts I have to say that your skill in landing on a short grass strip is fantastic. Also, we had people to load/unload the aircraft, refuel etc. Your glass cockpit display is also pretty cool. Respect…
I watched a few videos of yours, always gave them a thumbs up, and today I finally subscribed. Your videos are awesome, the effort you put into creating these videos is insane. Having been a recreational pilot myself and having carried a Gopro once in a while I can assess the level of confidence you must have in your flying skills. Most non-pilots aren't aware that creating this kind of content first and foremost requires a lot of mental headroom, something that only comes with experience. And what I especially like about your videos is that they clearly show that you need a solid knowledge of your aircraft and its capabilities, but that flying is also very much about mastering the environment as well: landscape, weather, ATC, or the lack theroff. I hope the makers of todays flight simulators are getting this impression too, as the simulation of aircaft in current sims has progressed far more than the simulation of the atmosphere - unfortunately.
Love your videos and the added ground content makes them even better!! Growing up in Africa and currently serving here makes me appreciate our mission pilots even more!
So, I enjoy and appreciate you sharing your life through the videos. The procedure for attaching the cable to the helicopter seems too dangerous. A wind gust or inadvertent control input by the pilot and you could be dead. Maybe they should land the chopper in front of a barrel and crawl underneath to attach the line. Please be safe my brother!
PNG is a very different environment compared to what many of us are used to. The organisation Ryan works and flies for have very strict rules regarding environmental conditions regarding landings and take offs in the remote areas. The acceptable wind speeds are remarkably low and they are very aware of wind shear and downdrafts at the airstrips they operate at. Like you I wouldn't be keen on hooking on that load to the chopper but in truth I believe Ryan is fully aware of the potential dangers and knows how to deal with them. Being beneath the chopper certainly keeps you clear of the rotors which are the most dangerous part of the scenario.
It's pretty standard for sling loading. The pucker facter is only high on the first few. Safety training, only front exit, stay in pilots view. Density altitude at mountain airstrips in the tropics gets interesting.
Good video. I love the on-the-ground stuff. The drone shots are great! You do a great job of mixing shots, the auditory channels and the music. Well done!
I certainly appreciate the time, effort, and skill you put into these excellent videos. Bravo! Keep up the good work I soloed 60 years ago in a Luscomb 8A ☺
I love all your videos over the last many years and this is your best effort yet; well done. Great videography, great editing, great sound quality, great snappy and professional pilot briefing and a really interesting flight story; also there were interesting views of the local people and explaining how your flights help them in their lives; 10/10.
Absolutely spectacular. Your filming and editing skills are amazing. It looks like you have a full film crew behind you. Well done. Love your videos. Keep up the great work you do!
That was real interesting - a mix of flying and ground activities - the chopper involvement added to it all. Thanks for taking the time to show it all. Big thumbs up.
Definitely challenging on your part to make your videos, but I really enjoy watching the effort it takes for bush pilots. Especially with missionary aviation. Great on the ground content and helicopter Operations. Thanks for all you do.
Just a thought about some additional content. We hear the voices on the radio all the time. Maybe one day you can visit the tower and the Moresby facility to meet the people and show their work.
You mention in the video that the coffee table book of PNG was in the description below, which is not. But when it is I will definitely be interested. That way when I'm Sim flying, I might be able to take a look at the area I'm landing in for reference. Loved the calendar pics as well. Didn't see it on your store page either (Book). Anyway, always love your content, never miss one. I'm bell notified.
At 2:45 you show the loading of 3 drums of fuel. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I gather the drums are not pushed together, but are fastened to the floor individually, with a spacing of around 20 cm between drums. At 4:05 you enter the weight and location of the 3 drums. You show a spacing of 800 mm for the CG's of the drums. If memory serves, the drums (~2 feet wide and 3 feet tall?) are about 600 mm in diameter, leaving 200 mm of a gap between them. I wonder if my calculations "add up". lol
Am I blind or am I not seeing the link for the coffee table book? I would love to get this for my parents for Christmas, we used to live in PNG in the late 70's so it's a big part of our family history
Greatly appreciate the constant flow of instructional content in your videos. It’s helping me a lot as I get back into aviation after a while away. Keep up the good work! (The OTG footage is nice, too!)
I really enjoyed seeing the full detail of your work day. The helicopter content is another bonus! Your production is very professional and I find the flying very interesting.
I really enjoyed the ground ops and it actually makes your job seem even better. Attaching the cable to the helo required some cojones! More of this please and godspeed

Subcompact C-130. Just missing out on air-to-air refueling. ;o)
Another amazing video Ryan. It was very professional both in flying and in editing. Thanks for doing this for us!!! What a lucky passenger; $90 for a front row flight with the Man.
Ryan, Seeing what your day is like is so refreshing, as a retired Aircraft Maintenance guy, brings back fond memories, working the flightline. Also seeing the people, both Ethos crew and the locals is a blast to watch, with my time in Southeast Asia experience. Most all of the people are honest and warm. Not sure about Daniel, though, as he didn't look happy. :-) Thank You Sir!!
Loved the on-the-ground segments. They bring back many memories of when I spent a few decades serving on the missions committee of our church. We supported many New Tribes families. And the trips I took were all so special. When I think of those beautiful people on the ground at your airstrip it brings back those kind of memories. So I know it must take a lot more time to make and edit one of these videos, Ryan, but I do appreciate it whenever you can do it. God bless and fly safe!
Hi Ryan, Yes please but only as and when time/activities/location/etc works for you. Bear in mind (Drop bears are terrible) that the ground content can easily be not that regular; just on the odd even rare occasion that doesn't load you up. We can and will enjoy every skerrick, and perhaps treasure this more because being not that regular, is more 'Special'. 😇🥰😍🤠🙃
I really enjoyed ground ops with sling loading fuel barrels to second location. Good to see some of the ground ops, reminds me of my days in the military! Keep up the good work!
I love the "on the ground" sections as well as the flights. Thanks also to your passenger, for giving his permission to be included.
Great job again Ryan, keep up the great flying you do and telling it like it is have a good one see ya next time see ya bye.
The extra effort to show us the activities on the ground etc. are well worth it. I continue to learn a lot and enjoy your professionalism. Thank you.
Ryan, the on-the-ground content is very interesting to see more of what you do - thank you, Duncan
glad you enjoyed it
I totally agree. With some on-the-ground content the video feels more complete.
Love the mixed content in this. Just need to drag your motorbike out now Ryan and get a roadtrip in.
Haven't rebuilt the engine yet
@@MissionaryBushPilot Ah, that could be a bit of a problem then.🤔

17:03 guy coming up just beating the kids broke me 😂
yeah, it's the PNG way to get the kids away from the plane and out of the way

I like all the contents you have presented in the last 2 to 3 years
lOVE THE ON THE GROUND CONTENT Shows what goes on behind the scenes.
Yes it's better than just back and forth, which can be repetitive.
Hi Ryan,

I'm not convinced Daniel is happy about his new found stardom! :D
Thanks for showing us more than just the glamor of flying. Sometimes there's manual labor involved in most jobs. These videos make it more realistic and relatable.
Hi to your passenger. I hope he enjoyed his flight, too!
Your passenger doesn't look very happy LOL
😂😂😂
he spent his whole allowance on a ticket home,
90$ sounds very fair… but for Papua New Guinea it’s probably a significant amount of money
I'm not used to fly. All of that is wonderful but i think i'd be kind of stressed. Whatever the price 😅

Ryan, really like the on ground extra content. I am also looking forward to seeing a real ILS in to Goroka.
It's a Lnav unfortunately
Love the on-ground content and the local people.
The quietest passenger ever with the crazy man talking to himself. 😅 Love your vids, bro.
Love your videos and the added ground content makes them even better!! Growing up in Africa and currently serving here makes me appreciate our mission pilots even more!
I enjoy every video but the behind the scenes is awesome

Yes, that does look somewhat dicey, be careful (or find a safer technique)!

I noticed the canuck in your call sign. Are you Canadian? I have a cousin from Newfoundland who was a singer recording artist named Cam Canuck.😁
I enjoyed every bit of it.
I like having the on the ground content. It is just a nice mix and is interesting. Also nice to see the combined vid with the chopper.
Smile Daniel! Book looks great.
Cool seeing the R-66 put in some work .
can we have more helicopter content please? nice videos
I would be VERY nervous having a stranger in the right seat.....But Daniel did a good job keeping his hands under control.
Good video. I love the on-the-ground stuff. The drone shots are great! You do a great job of mixing shots, the auditory channels and the music. Well done!
Gotta hand it to you man, you're a helluva video producer. The vids are always really good, but this is next level.
Thanks

Absolutely wonderful stuff! 😀 Thanks for the effort...
Thats a full days work right there. I definitely love the behind the scenes look we got. Hit the L I K E deserves more than 1%
Ryan, loved the extra content showing the work you do on the ground. Really complements the flying and shows the whole job. 👍
Love seeing more on the ground stuff in this vid. That village has quite a view from top of that peak!

5 stars again, Ryan.

Hello from Minnesota USA! I really like the on the ground content.
A good complement of missionary work, you with Cessana and the helicopter only in that way can you reach those villages. Total admiration 🛩️🚁🤝👌
It's not a Cessna, it's a Kodiak. 👌

This was your best video by far. Very cool. Keep these coming Ryan.
Thanks!
It looked like simogu had a second airstrip there
Great vlog Ryan 👍🏽😎, these I’m sure must take a lot to edit so thank you very much 🙏🏽 Great to have some on ground footage also 👍🏽.
Yes, the extra footage on the ground is cool. Thanks!
I remember the pilots in AK, flying Beavers, just loaded up and went. It's a wonder they make it.
Love all of it. I like the mix!. Wish I could be there in person.
wow very interesting content friend
I really like the on the ground portion of your videos. Love your videos and the flying. You are an amazing pilot.
Someday, how about showing us the trip from your hone to the airport? Thanks.
more on ground content please!
