Campbell's overtook Glencoe too. A sad story about the MacDonalds... They were murderers. BUT Glencoe is a magnificent place to visit! The mountains are amazing!
I’m a McNees from the U.S. I’ve read that we used to be from the MacGregor clan. Totally explains why I react the way I do when literally anyone tells me what to do. 🤙🏼🍀
Yes and you should be my brother , we did not take it laying down we fought for what was right . Our name was abolished Anyone who bared the name would be put to death . And if some one committed a murder they could give up a Mcgregor for pardon . We where sold as slaves to the British , the names has history cool to know
No but her parents did and their last name was Gregg. She told me stories about how we had ancestors in Scotland whos clan was disbanded for a long time for a battle we participated in. Long story short, we might be descended from the Romeo and Juliet-esque lovers. The Man from clan MacGregor and the woman from clan Campbell. Pretty exciting stuff if it's true!
Just started researching my family history and a lot of the clan Gregor stories are matching up perfectly with my gandmother's stories. If it's all true, then I am Proud to be a descendant of the clan MacGregor.
Hey brothers and sisters, found out im part of the McGregor clan, got really interested in my history and my parents last names separately. Proud to say I will be getting our crest tattooed on my shoulder. Royal is our race.
My 4X great grandmother was Margaret McGregor born in the 1780’s in Balqhidder Perthshire. I know nothing of her or even if she is from this same MacGregor Clan...but proud just the same. I have family with the last name White as well, here in Canada I believe Dion is another name for White.

Byron McDuffy You saying we don't have good looking ladies? Lol just kidding. That war happened so long ago I wouldn't see too much of a problem with a Campbell And a MacGregor together today.
I just found out that my family, Griggs, is descended from the MacGregor Clan. So, hey fellow descendants! My family came to the americas through Nova Scotia in the 1800s. 4 or 5 generations back a forefather of mine crossed the border into Minnesota and started a sewing machine business in St. Paul. Then he or his son moved out to Oregon to start an automobile business. This is where my family has been ever since.
