Hey Nora! I found this idea on Russian UA-cam. A lady asked her subscribers to pick 10 random items and upload them to the gallery under a hashtag. Then she picked which lot from the gallery to go for using a random number generator, and she built a house using all of those items. She couldn't delete anything or change swatches. It's so fun, I'd love to see something like that on your channel. You might end up having to build a house that has a grave, a spaceship, and the zebra monstrosity bed from get famous. So messy and fun!

The overarching vibes (especially in the living room and kitchen) seem to be retro futuristic. Like how people in the 60s and 70s imagined the future to look like. It's also not my favourite but it did turn out strangely cohesive :D
This building is extremely successful. You’re building with items that you hate. Therefore, I would expect you to hate the final product. Why would you suddenly love the things you hate? 4:20 okay so that irritates me too, like soooo much 😭 but recently I took a trip to the Midwest and I went to a place where they’re building like a whole neighborhood of new homes… and I saw THESE windows EVERYWHERE 😭 all of the homes look like different color swatches of each other, the windows - something about the glass just looks so fake… like Barbie glass. That’s not a thing, but that’s what I felt when I saw it 😭 but the shutters were just as flat and just a facade. In the base game windows you can tell they were meant to be used (like old windows irl) but those horribly flat ones are exactly what new manufactured homes are using 🫠

22:21 it took a second but I think I understand what is throwing off the fence visually. Maybe not lining the entire fence line with plants. I think if it was a little more broken up and sporadic it would be more appealing. Maybe a few plants on the outside of the fence as well to do the same and break up the finance line. I do really like this build it's very unique so far. Thank you for uploading something you weren't 100% happy with because it does happen.

When she pulls out your favorite night stand and kitchen counters that are your go to when building, different colors though. I like the counter with the black and white swatch.... I do like how all of the hate items fit together in this wacky fun way. Its like the person went thrift shopping and found whatever caught their eye even if it didnt match the rest of the house or it was gifted to them.

The vibe of this house is so realistic! So many houses in the US are just like this! Built circa 1920 cottage house, updated in the 70s with the paneling and the carpet, but keep the classic craftsmanship in the kitchen, and finally get to modern day with the furniture being straight out of the early 2010s, when they also renovated the bathroom. I actually helped a friend of mine with the renovation of their house that was just like this. They had older style furniture, but they got it off of craigslist and facebook market place instead of buying it new, otherwise it would have likely been similar.

I'm a bit sad that you didn't like your landscaping, it's one of my favourite parts of the build! The curved garden and little tower give the house a touch of fairytale whimsy. 💖Also imo the interior turned out quite alright, especially considering some of the items you had to use. It just looks like a house that people added to piece by piece, not always being able to get furniture that fit or looked the best (just like a lot of people irl). If anything it's a more realistic vibe than a lot of the perfectly on-theme and 100% aesthetic Sims builds that are all over UA-cam. I actually wish we'd see more builds like this one, it feels more like something I can see Sims actually LIVING in. Hope you feel less sick by now/soon! 🍀

For how mismatched the other furniture were to each other, you made it work and actually made it look really good though the outside, besides you wonderful gardening, could use some more work. Additionally, I know you've heard this a bunch of times by now, but the way you decorate is so amazing! To me, it has this distinct stylistic touch but it's cosy enough that it looks realistic, though that magazine under a candle is a fire hazard... I love your builds and how experimental you can get with them.
Usually, when I use the bed in the main bedroom, I use a bunch of square vents from base game debug to change how the bed looks. I also have it in black which makes it easier to match.

Kids bedroom actually came out very cute!!! The wallpaper you put on tower part of the house - it's honestly so bad, I understand why you tried to hide it, but nothing can save it even vines 😭
This reminds me of the anti-style challenge. Where you do the opposite of what you would normally do to make something that's the opposite of your style. It was famous on the art community and I think it would translate well to the sims!
To sum up the items you hate: Items with odd proportions and/or material With a special guest appearance from art designs on items that replicate an early 2000s Disney movie's maximalist children's room
My apartment is a mixture between ikea's cheapest furniture, a Swedish kitchen from the 70's (in the midst of Miljonprojektet) and random knick-knacks I like and some random mirrors and decorations I bought on second hand. Basically, this house lowkey has the same feeling (but more expensive) as my current apartment 😅

For how mismatched the other furniture were to each other, you made it work and actually made it look really good though the outside, besides you wonderful gardening, could use some more work. Additionally, I know you've heard this a bunch of times by now, but the way you decorate is so amazing! To me, it has this distinct stylistic touch but it's cosy enough that it looks realistic, though that magazine under a candle is a fire hazard... I love your builds and how experimental you can get with them.
Usually, when I use the bed in the main bedroom, I use a bunch of square vents from base game debug to change how the bed looks. I also have it in black which makes it easier to match.

My apartment is a mixture between ikea's cheapest furniture, a Swedish kitchen from the 70's (in the midst of Miljonprojektet) and random knick-knacks I like and some random mirrors and decorations I bought on second hand.
Basically, this house lowkey has the same feeling (but more expensive) as my current apartment 😅
