I’ve seen these guys live about 5 times in Houston, TX. They never cease to amaze me. Even bought some merch from the vocalist and met him. He’s an amazing dude, and they’re an amazing band. You definitely gotta check out more from them, pretty much anything from “Balancing Survival and Happiness” is amazing.
Kublai Khan was emporer during the reign of the Mongolian empire during the Yuan dynasty. Grandson of Genghis Khan, who was founder of the largest contiguous empire in history. I dont think that there's much of a meaning behind it as much as it is just a badass name for a metalcore band.

The Lead Vocalist of this Texas MetalCore band ran across the name, Kublai Khan, being used in a poem, liked the name, and thought it would be a good name for his MetalCore band. It had a cool badass sound to it. But then it turned out that a defunct Minnesota ThrashMetal band from the 1980's had already used the same name for their band. Members of the defunct Minnesota band then contacted the Texas band to inform them of this. So, the Texas MetalCore band simply changed their own band's official name to "Kublai Khan TX" instead! In real life, Kublai Khan was the Mongolian Emperor over China, at the time when Marco Polo journeyed to China. The Emperor Kublai Khan, was also the grandson of Genghis Khan, Ruler of the Mongolian Empire.
