Great explanation. I'm a big fan of Kyokushin karate kicking technique. They have a lot of additional techniques and methods other striking arts don't use. Close range high kicks, snapping low kicks, attacking the rear leg, chusoku mawashi geri. Great variation.
Masaaki Noiri uses this technique amazingly and I’d love for you to analyze his entire arsenal as I think you’d like his choice of technique application.
It's angled ball of the foot kick to the liver just deadly, what is amazing is he combines this with a front kick and a low kick, so that's what make sit impossible to predict. It's the perfect kick trio
@Charles Wetherspoon yeah giga is amazing with it too, but he doesn't do the same combo of front, low, and triangle kick the same as kikuno, giga just hides the liver kicks with boxing, which is also very effective. Andy Hug was also great at combining similar kicks so the opponent never knew how to defend.
This is just a redirected front kick. A very basic technique that exists in many martial arts. Including Muay Thai, different styles of Wushu (Kung Fu) and Karate.
That is just a simple mae geri. The first kick in karate to learn, but you need guts to deliver this kick old style (with the toes). Normally the front kick is more of push kick (like muay Thai. There is no science here.
This is traditional karate kicks and attack direct to perfect point. One attack one kill. That is call karate
Katsunori sensei explains it on a Kuro Obi world channel video.
It was an inspiration from the Seisan kata and its' mechanics.
Do you have a link to that? Would love to see him break it down!👊🏽

Just discovered this channel, nice breakdowns.
Cung Le does this kick, it’s a front snap kick with the toes. He calls it his ninja kick but this is in Okinawan karate.
The angle it's different
Man thank you soo much
You the only one talking about this
Nice, u just got a subscriber and like. Can you also please breakdown Kotetsu Boku’s stance? Similiar to Kikuno he is.
So it's basically a Mikazuki-geri. Quite uncommon even in karate.
teppu?

It's not a Mawashi Geri, it derives from Mae Geri, a front kick.
