- In this video, I enjoy a solo overnighter in the woods with just the contents of my Polish Bread Bag. I improvise a browse bed/tick mattress with a survival bivvy bag and enjoy some campfire cooking. Hope that you enjoy the video and many thanks for watching.

Thank you Dan for your kind words, appreciated buddy.
I'll go and check out what you've been up to.
ATB, J.
Loved this video. Great watching all the aspects of setting up the camp.
ENjoyed the video very much keep on taking us with you. From the state of Louisiana in the USA good job I'll be looking forward to more.
Brilliant mate, subbed
Only recently discovered your videos and am slowly going through your playlist. Great style and content, thank you.
Hey buddy, packing light is an underrated skill, I know because I struggle to do it, packing light and taking the skills with you needed to have a night of comfort is next level craft. A great watch, loved the fact the bracken compacted up as you slept, how can you know unless you get out there and do it, for me you doing that and sharing is great, and of course...you treated me to another mmmm, that bacon again😎😎. Honestly, masterful bushcraft camp, nice one. I'm loggin out of tube for a couple of weeks for a rest, if you release a vid I'll catch it at the end of the month mate, take care, Chris.
Hi Chris, thank you so much buddy. I really appreciate your comments and hopefully we'll get to meet up one day. I've just been packing my sf 35 for another trip to Wales. It's definitely nowhere near as light as this setup as I find that the older I get, the more I enjoy my comforts. Anyway mate, I hope that you are well and I'll look forward to seeing you again on your return. Take care buddy. Atvb, J 👍.
Overhang lintau , great idea Mr . Bond
I love the polish bread bag it’s a great bit of kit
They are great for the money. Noticed you've got one too Paul. Have you done any mods to it?
@@SandybackOutdoors no not yet I’m still trying to get some kit together as Wot u see in my other video u commented on is pretty much all I have it’s seems the police have made no progress in my stolen kit either so yer it’s hard times atmo nut I have wondered about modding the bag at best I’ve put a cheap desert cam water pouch off of eBay and strapped it to the bottom of the bread bag But that’s it so far mate
@@paulsoutdooradventures1790 I totally get it Paul. Let me know what you're short of and If I've got any duplicates, I'll send over to you mate. Can't promise much but I'd be happy to help, if I can.
@@SandybackOutdoors that’s awesome of u mate thankyou
@@SandybackOutdoors loads of bits really mate fire box stove /twig stove tarp Thermarest my mess kits including messkit s xxxl softy jacket head lights Normal flashlights my hand saw. Inflatable pillows. We are missing quite a fair bit mate to be honest everything I have is in my latest video on my channel
Very nice idea, an airy green feather bed! He is a wonderful bushman who simply enjoys nature. He has the experience and knowledge to deal with any situation.👍
Thank you for your very kind words. I consider myself to be in the infancy of my bushcraft journey. Comments like this just drive me to learn more and try harder. Many thanks again. Atb, J 👍🙏.
Excellent video . Really enjoyable and proof of waht can be done and enjoyed with basic stuff. Glad I heard about your channel from Rick T. Keep safe
Cheers Jeremy, I really appreciate that. Rick is a top bloke for sure. Take care. Atb, J 👍.
Hi J hope you good mate . Proper little camp there mate 👍 . Love the bushcraft , nicely done . Atb 🏕👌

Yep , you never stop learning have smooth week . 👌
Just love the Polish bread bag, using just it for an overnighter is on my todo list, well done!
Thank you very much. I really do love mine too. I hope that you film that. Take care. Atb, J 👍.
@@SandybackOutdoors I definitely will film it, thanks! :)
Well done. It’s rarely discussed just how much time it takes to set up a simple camp. Hard work, but very rewarding. I enjoyed watching your process for a minimal pack in. New sub. Cheers, from the United States. Look forward to more posts from you.
Many thanks for watching, the sub and your great comment, appreciated 👍. Yeah, the less you carry, you more work you have to do to make your camp safe and comfortable. Take care, Atb J 👍.
Great video
Thank you Kathye 👍.
Nice vid. Implemented a few things I do myself, mainly using the lid of a container for your birdsnest to catch your initial ferro sparks, and the lashing of your tripod. Flip the middle stick and your done for something that's non- permanent and light load bearing... Subbed.
Cheers Tony. Really appreciate your support. Thank you. The majority of the stuff that I do, I've picked up watching other people's vids. It's definitely a great resource for learning and I'm constantly learning. Thanks again, J 👍.
Very nice video
Cheers Jeremy. Appreciate that buddy 🙏
Wherever you were, it was very, very quiet.
It's a great spot buddy. I rarely encounter many people here but the wildlife can be quite active during the night. Cheers, J 👍
Saludos desde Mexicali Baja California. Mexico Great video!!👍
Saludos también mi amigo y muchas gracias por sus amables palabras.
Good video
Cheers buddy 👍
Great video. Loved all the attention to detail you captured and impressed you did a camp with such minimal kit. Nice one.
Thank you for your kind words my friend, I really do appreciate it 🙏 I shall take a look at your channel later this evening. Cheers, J 👍
@@SandybackOutdoors You’re welcome man.
Great video mate 👍
Cheers mate and thanks for watching 👍. There's a couple of yours on my list for watching this evening buddy.
Wow this is admirable achieving an overnighter with more knowledge than kit. I love my polish bread bag, but using it for an overnighter I doubt I could do comfortably
To be fair we don't really need a lot of gear here in the UK in the summer for a night out. It definitely wasn't the most comfortable night I've had out either. I do take a lot more gear with me the majority of the time. Cheers Carl. Hope that your well. Atb, J 👍.
I like what you have demo'd here. A shelter, scoff and fluids, fire kit and navigation. The area is perfect, no noise or flight paths I hear on so many Brit channels. Nicely done. I do have one question for you. The choice of bag, is this choice a "grey man" decision because it looks like a lawyers briefcase or laptop bag or what?, what I mean to say is, why this bag and not a civi backpack you see on nearly every commuters back in the metropolis?, I dig it, don't get me wrong, just a curiosity.
The bag is just a cheap Polish surplus bag. It's a sturdy and practical alternative for a haversack. Does the job surprisingly well without having to spend a small fortune on a branded bag.
@@SandybackOutdoors Its that simple lol, yep, makes perfect sense, the boys on the comments seem to love it also.
@@MOOSEDOWNUNDER I have one, they're strong and incredibly cheap - about £10 - £15 depending on the website/shop
Enjoying your videos think I know a hack that will save you some time and sawing if you can find a tree with a fork in it pretty close you can stick those branches in the fork and break them pretty easy for your firewood maybe dead wood limbs .thanks for the info.
Many thanks for watching and the great comment Betty. I'm really happy that you enjoy my videos. I'm looking forward to be able to get outdoors for some proper adventures again soon. Take care and stay safe. Atb, J 👍.
You ever seen the bush craft prep her UA-cam channel? Nigel is also in England. He does some really good work in you are doing some really good work.
May be a little more conversation when you’re making it instead of making it it just like a silent movie would be better. Thank you for the time you put into making these, and they are very enjoyable. Also helpful. But I am in my 70s so the chance of doing this actually going out is not as likely as you. Also I’m from the United States.
Many thanks again Phillip. I've not seen the channel that you mentioned but I'll definitely have a look over the weekend. Thank you for the heads up. Hopefully I'll improve my filming and editing style over time. I've only been to the USA once, with the British Army and I absolutely loved it. Would love to return to discover more. I hope that you have a great weekend my friend. Take care. Atb, J 👍.
Great idea stuffing the emergency blanket for a mattress! Was it plenty warm?
Hi Jason, thanks for watching and commenting buddy. The improvised mattress was quite warm but became quite lumpy and uncomfortable as the materials compacted throughout the night. At least it kept me reasonably warm. Cheers, J 👍.
A good second video and Overnight Camp with fairly minimum kit albeit, you had the essentials. I would have liked to have seen a little more of the RAB Lightweight BIVI as I am not familiar with them and which Silk Inner Liner have you got? I know that Decathlon sell one, but it is Mummy shaped and I prefer more feet space so recently purchased such directly from Vietnam - yet to try it out.
Hi Robert, I've owned both the Rab bivvy bag and silk sleeping bag liner for many years now. I don't think Rab even make the same one anymore. If my memory serves me well I think I got them from an outdoor store called Blacks. Both have been a really good bit of kit and great at adding an extra season to a sleep system without adding too much weight.
@@SandybackOutdoors I'm familiar with Blacks, they're similar to Millets to me, but if it works and it don't cost the Earth, go for it.
@@RobertsBulgaria For sure Robert. A lot of my gear is budget to mid-range with a bit of army surplus thrown in for good measure 👍.
