Visiting And Camping At A Survival And Bushcraft School In The Lake District
Hi Folks!
In my latest episode, I was recently invited to camp at the Green Man Survival school on the shores of Lake Windermere.
I have a chat with James the owner and founder of Green Man Survival, to find out a bit more information about the school and the courses that they offer.
We then follow a young local family who are keen to learn new outdoor living survival skills.
I learned loads myself and was thoroughly impressed with James's knowledge and professionalism and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Green Man Survival if you wish to expand your knowledge, experience and skillset.
At the end of the day I set up a simple hammock camp and thoroughly enjoy relaxing at this beautiful location, with minimal filming but just totally absorbing myself in my surroundings on my first ever permission camp.
I hope that you enjoy the video and many thanks, as always for your support.
Please help me to grow the channel by hitting the thumbs up button and consider subscribing if you are new to the channel.
Cheers, J.

A Hot Wild Camp At Bleaklow Stones And Testing The Wuben H5 Flaslight
Переглядів 3362 роки тому
Hi Folks! In this video I head back out to the Peak District to test out my lighter wild camping gear set up and the Wuben H5 flaslight, which was kindly sent to me for free by Wuben to test. It was a very warm day and I planned on doing around a 12K hike, so I took a couple of extra litres of water with me, which was very much needed indeed. I popped over to the B29 crash site as I was in the ...

Переглядів 7402 роки тому
Hi Folks! In this video I share with you my take on a lighter wild camping loadout for the UK National Parks during the summer months. I hope that you enjoy the video and if you have any questions pl...

Hi Folks! In my latest adventure to the Peak District I go in search of a cave that I had seen on many other videos, with the intention of doing a wild camp on the cave balcony. I hiked through a beautiful ancient woodland and then up to the Redmires Reservoirs. From there I continued up to Stanage Pole and onto Stanage Edge. The views from Stanage Edge were amazing. Solo Wild Camp At Loch Grannoch North Shore And Testing The Roycraft Pack Frame

I cooked up a tin of chilli with some Mexican spicy rice and for breakfast, one...

I had a couple of non waxed canvas stuff bags, I decided to try to wax them, I just happened to have a 50ct unscented tea lights (paraffin wax) which is nice they are already ina biscuit shape, I rubbed on the bags and held it in front of a radiant heater and melted it in, I had to get about 5 coats on but it worked pretty good.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You carry a few tent pegs which weigh next to nothing. Totally agree that to have them handy when needed instead of what so many on utube do by taking the time to carve some. No it doesn't take long to break a few branches and wack a point on them but you're hardly weighing yourself down with the few ounces these are. For me the same goes with carrying a folding saw. I have one with about an 18" blade and again weighs less than a lb. Yet others will bring only a blade and mess around with a sharp knife in fridged weather to carve notches in a stick and make a bow saw. I never understood that. In the time it takes them to craft their saw I'd have a nice pile of wood cut.

Okay you sir win the prize. I've been watching tons of video on haversacks and load out and yours is far and away the absolute best! I did not initially like the idea of the polish bread bag but after seeing how it performed and looks after being waxed is damn great! I'll be heading to Amazon to buy one this weekend. Thank you for such a great video sir! Subscribed!! Also, if you ever consider it would love to see a video on how to wax the bag. Man that was a great video!!

    • @SandybackOutdoors
      @SandybackOutdoors 2 роки тому

Hi Will, thank you so much for your very kind words. I hope that you enjoy using your Polish Bread Bag as much as I still do. Waxing it is quite a simple affair. I use a wax puck of 7 parts paraffin wax to 1 part beeswax and melt them on a stove. Once mixed pour into a cupcake case and leave to solidify. Apply generously to the bag when you are ready and just melt it into the canvas with a hairdryer (That's what most folk tend to use). One wax puck will easily provide 2 applications. I hope that helps. Many thanks again for your comments. Take care and all the best, J 🙏
